Just my opinion, when you bargain with them over 20,000 VND, it's less than a dollar US. (Less than a quid in the UK) For you it's just a dollar or two. To them, it's a meal for their family. It's ok to bargain, but don't nickel and dime them.
I agree 100% but it sucks they try to rip off foreigners. Imo visitors and vendors here need to meet halfway and go for a price that benefits both parties. If they raise something 2x-3x just cause its a foreigner then thats shady
Steve to start at $64 for a fake shirt is immoral. If they are happy to have a decent mark up on their product there’s always the outer rim of the market where goods are ticket priced up, but don’t take the piss with 10X price.

This is good mate. The real bargaining. These people will markup atleast 300% when comes to tourists. They just trying their luck as some foreigners will just pay as it is still cheap
Only real way to buy stuff, just got back from the Philippines and this way to bargain is real. They get these knockoffs for dirt cheap and jack the prices up especially to tourists.. also shop around, found the exact same shoes for 30% cheaper starting price😂 haha

goes back to uk and buys iphone for 1500 pounds, those vietnamese are at least trying hard to feed their fam for an annual income of 2000 pounds
