I've just got back from Vietnam yesterday and I'm already wanting to go back so I'm here watching videos. This market was great. Winning a bargin feels so good and when they coming down the street agreeing with my first offer it's even better. One trick I had was to put the max amount of money I'd pay for something in my wallet, and hide the rest of my money. When they try asking for more I'll show them my wallet with all I have and say I literally cannot pay anymore
You always haggle for 1/3 of what they say at this place. They are known to jack up the price 2x to 3x the true price. Like that wallet she initially wanted like 400k, then went down to 250. I would only buy for 100 to 150k no more than 150k.
My dear friends it's ok to buy fake brands we don't need to be spending thousands of dollars or whatever is the money in your country, money in material things are not everything in life, we all need to learn and understand that being very simple humble and kind is more beautiful and what's more important in life is to be very happy have peace of mind and have a good health to live a long life Take care guys 👍🏼
Another great "shopping" video my boy! I was thinking about that "fake designer" issue". If we look at the product itself, what's the difference between the "original" and the fake one? I asked because here in the US for at least a couple of decades now if you go to their stores (designer brand), you'll be smiling making your selection, and paying their high prices but when you look at the label, where was it made? Vietnam, China, India, Philippines, etc. I was at a Ralph Lauren store a long time ago, found something I like and when I checked the label for the size, I found the size and that IT WAS MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES... almost all designers I think are now using factories in Asia because of cheap labor. To be honest, I can't tell anymore which is one bought at the designer's store and one from a "fake market". One time I was in Manila (2012), more specifically at Greenhill's Shopping Center in San Juan City and we were just killing time at their "fake market". I saw a Mont Blanc pen that exactly looks like what I bought at the Mont Blanc store in Glendale Galleria Mall in California. I asked the lady for the price and she said P750 I think that is what she told me. I started laughing my ass off... I paid $300 + sales tax USD (P15,000 + 9.5% tax) for mine. Their MB pen was just openly displayed while the one at the store where I got mine, was in a locked glass display and the store employee have to wear their white gloves to hand it to me when I asked to see it. I have an LV men's purse and a checkbook wallet and comparing it to the fake ones, I can't tell any difference. Anyway, glad you end up with the blue jersey... both the blue and the black one looks good but it's hot out there, avoid wearing dark colors...
What a small world it is. Funny that you mentioned Glendale Galleria Mall in your comment. I live only two miles from that mall and go there a-lot. People from all-over go there. I wish they could see the malls in Asia. They make our malls look like match-sticks. Right. Take care, Tom the Cali. Cat.
@@tomlohmier4824 you’re absolutely right with regard’s to the mall designs and structures. I can’t remember if its the same time with the MB pen experience that I found an “ice skating” place inside one of the shopping malls in Manila, Philippines.
If you pay 2/3 of the asking price for everything you're interested in, you're gonna need to take a loan out. Someone asked for 3.5 million for a suitcase that I got down to 650k
Vietnam does have the best fake market goods than the other southeast Asian countries because vietnamese like more of those fake designer brands 😎👍 awesome video
In my opinion, if the vendors there can tell that you are not a local, they tend to increase their prices. Although the counterfeit items may appear overpriced to me, I can comprehend their desire to make a profit. If I had ample funds, I wouldn't object to purchasing somewhat overpriced fake products as a way of supporting the locals. By the way, I suspect your friend is not fond of counterfeit goods 😂.
Ben Thanh market is really dank and overpriced. I've no idea other than location why it's on every tourist list. There are way cheaper more interesting places to go outside d1. If you have a girlfriend or boyfriend they will know where to buy things for half the price you'd pay in d1 or even more.
You over pay boy, If they say 450 , you say 100, believe me they will sale it to you, I been there , One time they say 85 , I say 25 , and they sale it to me, Ok 👍
And if you look in the back of those watches. You will see its made in China. Vietnamese don't make watch. Those watch are made in China and the Chinese pay these women to sell their product for them for a commission.
David, step out of your comfort zone with colors ....blue looks great ...yellow Lakers would look good too...... Yaaaaa Wendy for blue!!!!! Your getting alot of practice with your Vietnamese language.
@@davidkhaiThanks, David. We went to Ben Tanh Market and looked for watch. Then walked to Saigon Square. I found a watch, Tag Heuer Monacco. This is the one I've been wanting to buy. The seller priced it for 3M dong, i negotiated and got it for 1.7M. I am so happy. We love your home country and we will aurely be back. We plan on going to Danang, the Golden Dragon bridge there looks spectacular. Thank you again.
You’ll get scammed almost anywhere in South East Asia, and possibly pickpocketed. As long as you stay cautious of your belongings and bargain then you’ll be fine.

I wouldnt mind paying half or 2/3 of asking just to support business. They aren’t making that much but a sale is better than nothing I guess

they make most of that stuff in vietnam so some of the "fakes" come from the real factories
Or those that failed QC….so need to examine carefully
although they are fakes but very good quality
