    Humans don't realize how dangerous and serious this is.

    Wow! So I won't even have to plan my trips because big data will tell me what people like me already liked? That's so great! I will never have to try new things by my self! What a relief!

    Big Data is awesome and will even better in the future! But it stands in conflict with private data, the system will knows us better when we do and everybody who have access to the system knows exactly what kind of person we are. There will be no secrets anymore! Big Data is heaven and hell at the same time.

    I think about the central limit theorem which states that, in most situations, when independent random variables are added, their properly normalized sum tends toward a normal distribution (informally a "bell curve") even if the original variables themselves are not normally distributed. In every proces we look for the best possible combination of factors to get an output whether its cancer treatment or production of cars. The ability to get massive data to optimize processes by performing on line real time statistics ie the LEAN 6 sigma methodology will enable us to improve a lot of products and services.

    The data is there already to answer many questions. The problem we have is connecting the dots. now just imagine a world with powerful AI, who is able to connect all the dots with the data we continue to provide to it..... It will be the answer to all of our problems, but also could be the end to us, considering WE are the biggest problem facing the world today.

    I'm so surprised that big data can be used in many areas. I think there is no secret anywhere someday. Because data is stored in software. It's important to manage the data correctly.

    So... how is the data of the food we're buying at a grocery store being related to the buyer? When my products are getting scanned I don't state my health condition or my personal data, I just buy them and leave. Sure if you pay by card I can see that there is a possibility of maybe finding some connection to the consumer but even that seems a bit far-fetched

      lots of people use loyalty cards, credit cards, debit cards - the data is there and its only a short trip then to being linked and cross-referenced to other systems.

    what did he mean when he said fat has no bearing on health?

    • @SabrinaDacosta
      @SabrinaDacosta 7 років тому +7

      He means fat in food. Fat is actually necessary because it is how vitamins are transported throughout the body. So a fat-free diet is not healthy. Of course there are good fats and bad fats...

    Um, Fats do have a HUGE impact on health lol. Its just about which one you're consuming- good or bad fats. But it most definitely DOES impact your health if its bad fats.
