- The next in the series of Musical Detours, I am happy to share with you what gave me additional happiness as I prepared for my concerts. Taking a leaf from my Guru MLV Amma's book, I realised the importance of dressing and accessories which gave a new embellishment to stage presence. And in this I discovered so many angles, got opportunities to try different things, all in the garb of a musician, because that is foremost. Mam, big fan of your music and sarees. you should dedicate one episode on just talking about your sarees and how you go around shopping for your sarees/jewelry :) BTW, I hope you got at least some of those sarees from Pothys!!
I am told by my parents MLV amma wore Pure Kanchipurams in very novel colors combinations too. Always a forerunner for Pattu Sari fashion in her times. Not just that, even the hair do, having flowers like Thaazhamboo in the form of rays of sun with the kondai etc. Sudha Akka has raised the bar even further that now even Male artists are pay a lot of attention to the kurthas they wear, the color, the veshtis and in some cases angavasthram like Neyveli SanthanagopalanSir who I would call the Sudha akka's equivalent in Male artistes today.

I like your classy dressing and I like Carnatic music. But I find it very far fetched to believe someone would become a Carnatic music fan after seeing a pothys advert
