pld wings is a party defense it helps. it helps in fights like sephirot where you have to tank the mob in front of the party. (gonna help in fights like a12 with alex explosion)
As a Paladin main, I am SO fucking ok with this expansion. We're so swole now. AOE, magic attacks, a SICK ASS SHIELD ABILITY and we can block magic now.

Joined game in ARR for Bard. Stopped playing Bard in Heavensward because it became the bowmage. Very very very hyped for Bard again. I'm glad they're willing to admit the Heavensward playstyle just doesn't work for what players want and change it to something that hopefully will.
I know flashy moves are not everything otherwise black mage will always win, but I do hope there are more epic animations to the samurai's bag of tricks. If not then I ask Larry to make a vid of samurai trying to learn how to be flashy by fighting Gilgamesh.
100% block chance + 15% damage reduction for the party. Couple that with Divine Veil and THAT'S how you make a defensive tank. And aparentely their AoE game is going to be really strong too. Circle Blade, Circle of Scorn and that spell are all AoEs. And at least Circle Blade is a GCD (the spell probably is a GCD, too)
The job action got me MOIST lol. Moment I saw warrior pull 4 fell cleaves, and I saw smn summon bahamut.. BAHAMUT LOL, I said to myself, it's over warrior and smn took the spotlight. I honestly think they should have finished with Summoner and when Bahamut did his big boom the screen flashes to white in time with it ending the presentation. Could you imagine the absolute hype explosion that would have caused.

Also I think those design just ressemble wings but are more like modern art-ish designs rather than actual wings. Unto other issue...whm get higher tiers heals that 's all ? Seriously ? Tho I loved adding water effect to certain heals. Maybe take inspiration from that and make a medica 2 that "ricochette" from player to player like a rock on a lac, a reworked higher tier water aura, a mana regen water pond, sandstorm that stealth or inc evade for your team or even water sprouts! Seriously there's so much possibilities! P.S I just realized the black mage used his "teleport" to go back to his laylines was it not to a targeted character before ?!
As a FF11 player, I wasn't too hyped on Bahamut. It's something I was already use to with an older game. I am happy ff14 finally made the push. Paladin looks like it should be much better. Since I was a samurai since 2003 I will be using my main job again.
Agreed, I'm a FFXI vet myself but lets take into account that FFXIV lvl cap is going up to Lv70 in this expansion, so there is still a lot of room for the jobs to get better.
