Melbourne locals witnessed John Butler Trio Live At The Wireless in Federation Square. Performing songs from their hit new album Grand National as well as some old favourites, the John Butler Trio rocked Fed Square before heading off on their world tour.
The John Butler Trio is primarily an eclectic roots/jam band led by guitarist and vocalist John Butler. Two of the band's albums Three (2001) and Living 2001-2002 (2003) have gone platinum in Australia and reached the top ten of the Australian album charts in those years. The 2004 album Sunrise Over Sea debuted at number one on the Australian charts on March 15, 2004 reaching gold record status in its first week on sale. Their most recent album,Grand National was released in March 07.

I am delihted to say that I was there, and that this was one of the best gigs of my life. Totally free, no expectation, I just happened to roll into Melbourne at the right time. Hae roadied for John and he is a very self effacing, quiet, decent man. This song always makes me cry with its humility and lack of pretension.

This is music. Forget about the crap pop music going round. This man writes what needs to be heard. He adresses the real issues, This is what the music industry needs more of. His music has a way of moving the listener, Thank you John Butler

I heard of John for the first time yesterday. The first song i listened to was ocean. I now believe he is the greatest guitarist I've ever seen and heard in my life.
