Mandy Holmbeck also, it's not like Michael is "outing" our neighborhood or his house. My parent's street was on abc World News, and the local news was in there with camera crews. The funny thing is, when hurricane harvey hit, i was living in a place that was located on the outskirts of it. My brother, my friend, and i literally played outside during it and i realize how lucky i was.
Clicked on your video because my brother & sister-in-law were living in the Houston area when Harvey hit. The only saving grace for them is that they knew that they were both going to retire within the next year....give or take. So in May or June they put their house on the market (in League City) not knowing just how long it may take to sell. As very good luck would have it they sold their house in less than a week for cash!!!! So they moved into a high rise apartment bldg in downtown Houston on the 6th floor. So they were very very fortunate to have sold when they did and didn’t suffer the devastation that you and so many many others die. Prayers to you and everyone in the Houston area.
The worst thing about this is, is losing photos you had, history, never be able to get those back. Either way, great to know your alright, and hope you get a new place soon.

I understand it may seem like I was at risk. But remember, we are dealing with 110v not 220v. Also, my electrical runs are all grounded. Electricity looks for the path of least resistance. Also there is too much water for the electricity to be dangers at that distance. I would have to stick my hand an inch or less near an outlet to even feel the current. Lastly. Notice that I’m wearing think rubber waiters and boots. I’m completely isolated from the ground. Glad you are safe. Never watched your videos but saw your studio and we have common interest as far as that goes. This was an awesome and as you said surreal video. I couldn't imagine living through that. And I thought being stranded in my apartment for a week while we got 7 feet of snow was bad. Nope I'll take that over this lol

Thanks for sharing your heartache man. I'm a long way away from you but I've been following events like the rest of the world. I hope you are able to get thru the next year and resettle your family and focus on them.
Thanks for making this man - so enjoyable compared to TWCs constant yelling. Sorry that happened. I forgot what joke you told at the door but it was funny.
Just watching this video is eerie and I've never lived anything like this! I'm incredibly thankful for where I live, we rarely get any natural disasters

I watched a video you previously posted and glad this one showed up today. I want you to know that even though Hurricane Irma's live coverage took attention from Harvey, I haven't stopped thinking and praying for you and the people all around and in Houston for safety and peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for sharing. I commend you on your hope, love, concern for others, positive and well thought out steps before your actions will move you through this hard and devastating time. I live in central MA and heard your Governor say, 'it would be like a hurricane hitting New York and Boston flooding', opened my eyes to see and mind to know how unprepared my family and I are should this happen. Truth be told, it's time to plan. God Bless You and all.
I hope you don't mind if I share. I actually didn't quite understand the impact of this in a personal way. I'm so sorry for your loss and yes you have your life but this is a tragedy and we that are not close to it need to understand the debth of it. Thank you. You are a very talented young man.

Yes it's dangerous, but everything down there is ruined. He's definitely not the only one with his lights on in that area. It cant get much worse for them
That's understandable. I'm definitely not saying it's not, but I don't fault him for turning on his lights. And like the other guy said, he wasn't thinking clearly. A lot was going on for him
Unimaginable! All the best from Australia. 💙 I hope you've recovered by now and that the area has too. I understand the heartbreak and sadness of it being destroyed by something out of your control, but in the end it is just materials and things. You and your family are safe and that is truly what matters, life is precious but we can and will rebuild. I will keep you in my thoughts man. - from OH
USA & National Guard and people of America all awesome! ❤️🇺🇸
R L yep, because they’re the one that help us out in theses situations, hats off to you guys and gals, Bless You🙂🙏🙂
america is still selfish though..
Hope all is well now. Thank you for that first hand account and thank you for your service.
My neighborhood, I remember walking through that for days
I normally don't see an entire video but I did for this one. May the future be uplifting for you and your family
Love how the first thing u save is ur magnets 😂
It's 12:41 am here and I'm watching this video. When you mentioned the dude with the boat I quietly went "LET ME BORROW YOUR BOAT!!!" I'd honestly go kayaking in there like that one guy was. I'm gonna have to buy me a kayak for whenever a flood happens. I can easily get around
City under water? Let's leave the electricity on. Flipping switches standing in 2 feet of water.
Your mother was right. Wow... glad you weren't hurt doing that trek to your house.
MegF that and at least in FL they get rather angry with you if you go into flood waters
So nice to see neighbors being friendly and helpful....in this situation, there is no color, status level, or animosity.......just good people willing to reach out to other human beings and help 😔
Watching this as I'm going thru hurricane irma I live in Naples it's horrible now
Thanks for sharing your heartache man.
Sorry to see what happened to your home. Glad your studio is good. All the best.
Just watching this video is eerie and I've never lived anything like this! I'm incredibly thankful for where I live, we rarely get any natural disasters
Is it bad that I feel like a horrible person because I'm just sitting here in Australia and I can't do anything to help even though I really want to help and I just wish that everything will be okay for everybody who was living here and I wish them well
Elephant Rider155 do you have problems with gay people? He was being gross though
be47303 no i feel like that too only I’m 11 years old so I can’t go over to Texas. I can’t say where I am but I’m far from texas
Thanks for documenting. I hope it's a quick recovery for you guys. Best wishes from this Texan to you.
How is the power even on when the outlets are flooded. Crazy
Glad everyone is safe
so sorry to see your damage, I had a little bit of water myself. On a side note, your studio and equipment is really squared away nicely. Good job!
You're standing in water with the power on????!!! Lucky you're alive!
His rubber waders helped to protect him.
XanderCreates PURE water is not a good conductor, true. BUT any minerals or contaminates WILL make water a very good or excellent conductor. Flood water is very impure and a good conductor of electricity.
I don’t think he’d care if he died at that point honestly
NinjaBoy and the Old Man yea I saw that reply before. forgot to correct my comment lol
@@hannahchristine5675 Seriously!!??? You think people want to die just because their homes are flooded out? Priorities anyone??
you turned the lights on! ....
SICKFREDO honestly I was surprised he still had lights, I was afraid when he flipped the one light switch thinking something was going to go wrong thankfully it didn't
It's weird, when I had 30" of water in my shop, all the electrical was ok. I was able to walk with hip boots and not get shocked. Go figure.
@@tomruth9487 The hip boots insulated you. Without them you would have gotten shocked, anything from a tingle to a full blast.
@@mxslick50, Thanks for the reply. That makes sense.
So sorry for what your going thru :( sorry that happened to your home, very sad situation. I'm glad your personality is seeing it in an outlook to make it better. Best of luck for things to get better.
Best of luck to you and all of the flood victims
Michael, I am sorry this has happened to you and everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey. Thank goodness your studio is dry. Praying from here forward it will stay dry.
Thank you. You are a very talented young man.
shixa101 thanks
O
Thank you for documenting this. It made me realize the devastation hurricane Harvey caused. I love your attitude. I wish you and your the best.
Him: "they were out for 24 hours"
Me: "I was out for 5 days safeing people :>"
Him: "sureeeeeeeee"
Me: "Your dumb don't u need a boat from penny wise?"
Dude it'sad it's too fast to escape
Seeing your video really opened my eyes because the news doesn't show a whole lot. It was heartbreaking seeing your home under water & I even caught myself tearing up. I really feel for everyone who experienced this disaster and will continue to keep you & the others in my prayers 💓
I'm so sorry😞 I live in Georgia and we will be hit Monday night as a tropical storm but I know it won't be as bad as Harvey and Irma😞
Addison Autrey I’m in ga right now
Addison Autrey Currently riding out Irma in the direct path of the eye and wall. Stay safe 💕
Addison Autrey same I live an hour away from Atlanta
Addison Autrey The tropical storm there is Irma...hurricanes downgrade to tropical storms after they pass over land and lose strength.
Lithia springs, hope we survive :P
I can feel the sadness when seeing your home under water. America stays strong in times of crisis
unbelievable dude ): this was only last year, hurricane harvey sucked
It's so hard to look at your home and not mourn the loss, but it's only 'stuff'!! Thank God you are alive, able to walk through, see the damage, and walk away. I can't imagine what you are feeling. :(
Omg I was doing demo on my friend's home in the neighborhood were ur at! It was crazy!!! So sad!
Thank you for helping us rebuild Kim ❤️❤️My parents live here and it was my childhood house. We appreciate every one of our volunteer muckers more than you know. We're going to get CCB back to the way it was before!
I prayed for all of you, after having worked for Victims of Katrina and Ike the worst hurricanes i had seen after living in Houston, TX for 16 years. I left to take care of my aged parents. Now only my ex and son lives in houston, tx
Im so sorry.my thoughts and prayers are with you.
This video made me cry , you're so brave and stoic and maintaining a blessed and grateful outlook I admire that so very much . May god be with you and ur beautiful daughter through this disaster and may rebuilding and returning to life be easy and fast xo
Surprised the power is still on
Always happy to see the good ol boys with their lifted trucks and boats to help. Hope all is well with you.
that was kinda irresponsible, going in there and turning on lights, but this will pass and you all be back on your feet soon
Victoria Smith He wasn't thinking clearly, he was under stress.
Victoria Smith Seriously? He had his home completely flooded. It was dark. He needed to see what he was doing so he could move things and save them. Yes it's dangerous, but everything down there is ruined. He's definitely not the only one with his lights on in that area. It cant get much worse for them
His life is more valuable and important than any material thing, that's how I see it
That's understandable. I'm definitely not saying it's not, but I don't fault him for turning on his lights. And like the other guy said, he wasn't thinking clearly. A lot was going on for him
Unimaginable! All the best from Australia. 💙 I hope you've recovered by now and that the area has too. Your attitude is great, from the moment you decided you need to feel the truth of the situation, to your firm decision to restore that barrel, and beyond. An amazing and devastating experience for many.
Hey man ur washer should be ok because u saw the light was flashing most of the computer chips are at the top of the washer and the bottom tends to have water proofing
He'll have to replace the drain pump motor and maybe the main motor too....repairable, but expensive. Probably better to junk it.
