Jon Lord said Frida has a hard to describe characteristics in her voice, he called her voice "specific and glorious". Her sound has an embedded emotion -- like a combination of sadness and wistfulness. Like her life story, really.

Frida Lyngstad was for me, the most beautiful singer and I loved her the most from her days in ABBA. This is my absolute favourite song of hers. Simply wonderful.

My sentiments too! She is so adorable - even now in her older years she hasn't lost any charm and still looks beautiful. I've always maintained she is the best female vocal there ever was!

Fridas voice makes the angels sigh, no one could ever sing this song producing the same angelic bliss, that Frida does. Fridas voice has always had that effect on me.
Have a listen to Sissel Kyrkjebø at the Mormon choir concert and you might change your view but I expect you will at least enjoy the rendition. If you do have a listen also to "Slow Down" and note her reaction at the end to the applause. I only came across Sissel recently and don't know how I never heard of her before, Angelic and such a smile. I'm really smitten. Great songs on UA-cam from when she was a young girl and I wish I could see her in concert, not much hope living in Ireland as she doesn't seem to tour all that much except in Nordic countries but she has fabulous command of the English language. In fact she has sung in Irish as well !
Madonna covered this song. She worked miracles, but not as divine as Frida could do. Frida is unique and will always be...
Heard Sissel's version, quite different but enjoyable nonetheless, however, those silky, warm tones of Frida win for me. They create a dark, Winter night atmosphere in front of the fire wistfully thinking of a love lost and the emptiness that leaves. Her delivery paints a vivid picture more than Sissel's for me.
I've liked ABBA for a long time but never heard all their songs by a long shot. Hearing this for the first time last Christmas was a pleasant surprise! Now I finally get the people who love Anni-Frid 😊.
Their entire catalog can be collected on "Thank You for the Music". It has every song including studio outtakes and bloopers and never published songs. A perfect gift for any ABBA fan.

Frida's voice is sooo sweet. This is what I imagine an angel would sound like.
ABBA's recording engineer, Michael B Tretow, obviously knew Frida's voice very well. In an interview (see UA-cam) he talked about the quality of her voice and called her voice "hi-fi" (high-fidelity). What a compliment!

Everytime I listen to this music my eyes get full of tears. I had a friend who used to say that ABBA was a group created by the God hands because God loves good music and good voices. Also he used to cry a river of tears listening to this song. When Madonna covered this song my friend was already gone but I'm sure it made his spirit happy anyway.
