- Dan and I venture deep into the Wyoming Wilderness and I harvest my first Wyoming bull. Another mature six point down for me, and a close encounter with a Boar Grizzly. Join us for this incredible hunt!
Congratulations!! I love it, goes to show you don't need all the horses to get it done. Great job.
Indeed it does! Tough hunting though!
Who was the packer and at what price? Did you have options?
We got ahold of the outfitter in there, he charged me $600 to bring it out on their supply run. There likely would’ve been other options if it wasn’t opening weekend. I’m not sure he wants his info out though (might be bad for his outfit if he’s helping everyone in the public).
Shouldn’t go back there if you can’t get em out kids.
Well, “kid”, I got all the meat and he tastes fantastic. Thanks for your concern.
@@Beaverhead_Antlers You guys are great!! He’s just jealous he doesn’t have the motivation to get out there and get it done! Don’t ever let a weak man intimidate you. You guys rock period. You’re inspiring me to try a west hunt. From the Midwest here.
@@JoshNolt-pq5zsmuch appreciated! Get out and get it done, it’s a great time
i killed a big bull on top of mountain two years ago.Took me 3 days by myself in 2 ft of snow to debone and pack all the meat and head down and im 56 years old .Damn near killed me .Its cool now but at the time was a hell of a lot of work.I fell and slid hudreds of yards down the mountain catching hold of shinnery oak just before a big sheer cliff.Crazy stuff
Sounds like a tough go, but an incredible memory! Nice work
Did you see any bigger 350 type bulls in there?
No sir! We would’ve definitely gone after one that caliber!
Good job guys. Hardcore. That’s a good hike getting in there.
Taking horses back in there this year. Can't wait!
We are planning on returning as well, see ya there!
We are actually trying to set up a ride in/out so if ur looking for company, let us know!

That takes alot of grit to do what you guys did!
Nice job!
Thanks! It was one hell of a hunt!
So glad you did pay someone! As someone with horses I have helped a few people and seen a lot of wasted meat from backpackers! Congrats on the bull and great video!
We were prepared to head back in if we didn’t find anyone, but very fortunate we were able to!
Greatbull buddy! That was crazy with the grizzlies! Thats tough packing them out on your back! Good luck with everything my friend!
It was an awesome experience, I’m super excited to try to fill my other tags!
Wow. Great bull. We killed ours 7 miles in this year. We could not have done it without horses packing it out.
Yeah we only got one trip out on our backs and it about killed us! Had to call that outfitter and pay hun to get the rest out… definitely worth it though
Great job, gentlemen, and congratulations. I'm a Wyoming resident and live in the heart of elk country. Unfortunately, I'm too old now to backpack into the high country anymore. Brings back memories. Again, nicely done.
Glad you enjoyed it! I know days like that will be few and far between so we are going to do it as much as possible!
Now that's the way to do it, no messing around good job
Glad you enjoyed it!
Only saw this video and immediately subscribed! congrats on the bull
Appreciate the support! Thanks for watching!
The heavy breathing reminds me of my first backcountry hunt being out of shape 😂 but enjoying the suck! 😅
I try to hide it 😂
Went in 11 miles once with my brother in law and it was awesome. Didn't get anything but it was a blast.
Backcountry hunting is where it’s at!
I went in there two different seasons and once up the main drainage you parked in, using horses. It's a jaunt for sure and g-bears are all over the place.
Oh yeah, they are everywhere. But it’s some super cool country! I would love to make the trip back in, but I won’t without horses
Great bull! Congratulations. As a fellow Wyomingite, I'm really glad I dont have to hunt elk in grizzly country 😆 cant say I probably would be, if I did lol so definitely a lot braver than me. And glad you found someone to help pack out. Horses are definitely a life saver in elk country.
This is my first season hunting here, and I can say it’s been an adjustment for sure. Hunting in areas like that has me constantly looking over my shoulder
@@Beaverhead_Antlers yeah I could definitely see it! Looks like you did everything correctly though and made it out alright which is all that matters 🤘🏻
I hunted same area last year. Awesome place , Awesome memories. I was fortunate enough to tag a 6x7. Hope to do it again Congratulations!!!! Nice video and nice Bull
Didn’t happen to lose a phone, did you? lol found one way back in there
Beautiful bull congratulations. What that giant score?
Thanks! He scores 303 6/8!
This a otc tag?
This was, yes.
Are either of you WY residents?
Yes. I got my residency in June. I’m also well aware of the law requiring non-resident hunters to have a guide in wilderness areas. (I assume that’s what you were getting at)
@@Beaverhead_AntlersI hate that rule
@@StarD435definitely tough. I’m not sure if it has to be a guide, or if you just have to be with a resident.
Good meat, great memories!
Yessir! Had some fresh tenderloin and backstrap the other night, hard to beat!
Make mine rare please!
Hardcore, but no thanks.
😂😂 won’t be back in there for a while!!
@@Beaverhead_Antlers not without llamas or something. Apparently though, nobody else wants to either based on the bulls y’all saw.
Lots of people in there actually. They all had horses, and we just out worked them to get that bull!
@@Beaverhead_Antlers I guess that’s part of the deal. Since they had it easier, they didn’t work as hard.
@@tommyhunter1817 People can be so lazy.
Which unit was this?
🤷♂️🙈
You're kidding yourselves if you really think a grizzly couldn't get your meat out of that scraggly little tree. Consider yourselves extremely lucky a bear didn't find it before you got it out.
I’m sure one could’ve gotten it, where we packed it, it was the only tree we could even get it into. I agree, not ideal. Still better than leaving it at the kill site or on the ground. It was only in that tree for ~24 hours before it was shuttled to somewhere safe. Didn’t have a choice.
