Embarrassed? No way. I have had a couple friends goof on me for riding a scooter, but that was my smaller scooter, a 2001 49cc Honda Elite SA50. It's a nostalgia kick for me(even the smell of the 2 stroke, reminds me of my teens). My buddy's parents gave him a 49cc Honda Elite when we were like 14(you have to be 16 with a driver's license). Other kids in the neighborhood had Honda Sprees. I was super jealous. I begged my parents for one when I was a young teen and they wisely refused. I was obsessed. I finally bought one on my own as an adult without asking. HA. I put like 1200 miles on it the first summer, and over the next 20 years, I have put an additional 1100 miles. I got it majorly tuned up last summer and put new wheels on it. I still love the stupid thing, but I have to start it about once every week or two if I don't want the carburetor to get gummed up. My parents both objected when I said I was gonna buy the ADV150, especially my mom. My dad saw it and realized that it wasn't too bad compared to what I already have. I was bored during the lockdown so I endeavored to get my motorcycle endorsement so that I could buy one. I feel even COOLER on the ADV150 and it's WAY more comfortable to ride than my Elite. It's nice to have higher speeds, but I definitely am not a fan of the harsher wind noise, but the full face helmet helps. I rode up to a gambling town in the mountains last fall. It was very interesting because most of the motorcycles on the road that day waved at me. I had never experienced so many other riders who just have a sense of camaraderie and they wave. Pretty cool. I do know there are some bike snobs though, but there are certain types of snobs in every walk of life. I twice almost got run over on my Elite because it's small and people don't see it. I also almost slipped and fell once when I used my breaks on gravel. That was a learning experience. I absolutely NEVER put my faith in other drivers to see me. In contrast to when I first bought my Elite, there are way more distracted drivers these days thanks to smartphones and that's a concern for me. On both bikes, I always avoid being in people's blind spots. It's much easier to see immediately behind me on my Elite compared to the ADV150. I would like to have better rear view mirrors on the ADV. I just recently put gold reflective tape on both sides of the rims. It looks sorta cool to me because the color ties in with the rear suspension. I also bought a gold color radiator cover off of Amazon which also looks cool because of the way the color ties in with the reflective tape and the suspension. I personally love the color gold. I keep hearing about the ADV350 that exists in Asia. I'd consider one of those if it came here. Not embarrassed at all. Like you, I actually enjoy this hobby. It feels freeing riding on it. I just done did talk my head off.
@@CopyWhoTV Nice write-up, thank you. I forgot to mention in the video my first motorized two-wheeled bike was a Tomos moped back when we were teenagers. There were about four of us who had the same moped and we were OGs of our area cruising around the streets on them. We removed the baffles and made them super loud (kids) and had a blast! We'd decorate them with roach clips that had those feathers back in the 80's. LOL! Again...kids... We all go through stages and I miss those carefree times. I'd ride 10 miles in the freezing cold with just a shirt on because I thought I was cool as most kids do at that age. Froze my arse off! But, I was sooo cool....I thought. :P
I am a disabled veteran and the VA refuses medical care. They laughed at 22 Veterans Suicides a day and told me to go home and die. I have knee hip and spine damage. 30 plus year's of bacteria infection (untreated cellulitis) and I just bought a plain Jane pcx 2022. I am not able to maintain a 500 pound Harley Davidson etc. The Pcx gives me mobility and freedom
I’m embarrassed for all the Harley riders who spent $20k on a bike they use a few weekends every year and don’t know how to ride a 600lb piece of steel. I put more miles/year on my Elite 110 than I ever did on my motorcycle and it is all city driving. Scooter Life is the definition of a happy and full life. Love it.
I just recently bought the 2022 Yamaha Zuma 125cc scooter and I love it. I can get it to 60mph with ease and the bike is comfortable doing it. I'd never be embarrassed riding what I like. You're riding for your own enjoyment not other people's approval so who cares. Having fun and being safe is all that matters.
Do you! I’m 28 years only and ride a 1290SAR but I’ve daily rode my Grom for the past year and come tomorrow I’ll be rocking a 22 ADV150. You can’t waste your life worrying about other people opinions. I’m gonna be crockin and 3/4 rockin on my ADV without a care in the world😂🤙🤙
Like you, I’ve had bigger “real” motorcycles, but now at this stage of life, the ADV 150 is the perfect size. I don’t intend to ever go on the interstate, but I can go on a state route if necessary. I’ve had mine just at one year and have not gotten less than 100 mpg. For me, it’s the perfect motorbike. I’ve also consistently gotten the 2 findger “motorcycle wave” from other bikers.
I wonder if the people giving me the two-finger sign realize I'm on a scooter once they pass me. They are probably thinking, "Oh no, I just waved to a scooter." haha. Naa, probably not. Those thoughts are just in the head, not reality.
@@Trekopolis lol, I just brought a '22 home today for the wife. I ride a blue '21 monkey and love it. What other people think is the last thing to be concerned with for sure.
Just crossed 700 miles on my 2022 ADV ( picked up June 28, 2022) I have a 27L Givi box on the back and some side boxes on order. I call it my 2 wheel urban station wagon. I dont care what others do or don't think. Saves me a boat load in gas, is fun to ride. It looks more like a bike than a scooter. I ride it every chance I get. I have driven my van twice since I bought the ADV. PS: Was born in Cinci....
Yes, lots of other bikes pull up alongside me and look it up and down trying to figure out what it is. LOL They just give me the thumbs up. I guess I'm approved!
Nice video. I just picked up a 2021 ADV with 210 miles. Not embarrassed! This middle age guy think it looks really sporty and nice. Jury still out if I want to go back to something more powerful (I had a Forza 300 a few years ago), but I’m going to enjoy it for the summer and see. Ride back roads. So far it’s a blast. I love the size and suspension.
Nice! I actually looked into the Forza 300 bike when I was researching something to buy. Those were just a little larger than I wanted at the time. ;) Thanks for the comment!
I have three BMW's in my garage and have put over 300,000 miles on them on various motorcycle trips. I also have a Honda Silverwing Scooter (600 cc) and have put over 30,000 miles on it over the last three years. I simply love it. It is cheap to maintain, totally reliable and my choice of rides for anything up to 500 miles. I would not hesitate to hop on it and ride it across the country.
@@Trekopolis I have a friend who has a bike garage/museum with over 150 motorbikes in it. Every time my wife gives me grief about having 5 I show her pictrures of his museum. Has worked so far. I asked this friend how many bikes are enough and he said one more than he has. :-)
Great Review 1000 mile review on the ADV150 !! It makes me miss mine, especially that storage and ease of use! Thanks for the Shout out!!! No shame at all in riding scooters. Most people that saw me on the ADV 150 thought it was super cool. I think low cc bikes get a bad wrap especially in the UA-cam universe. There are a lot of voices out there saying you need a 1000cc bike to be a real rider. I totally disagree! It’s as crazy as someone saying your not a real driver unless you have a Ferrari 488 our Bugatti 😂! Awesome video!!! Ride Safe My Friend!!
No problemo! I've enjoyed meeting folks through their channels and it's nice to be able to rap with others about motorbikes and traveling. Love your new ride BTW. But, I don't think the wife will let me spend any more money on new toys right now. :P One day!
I’m loving mine. It’s in the shop right now getting the handlebars fixed. Going to do some upgrades to it when I get it back, set it up for some exploring on the back roads and light trails around here. Don’t know how capable it’s going to be, maybe more than I am, but it’s going to be fun figuring it out!
I have a bike I can hammer through the gears on. I ride the ADV 150 more though because it is comfortable and so easy that it feels like a vacation from the other bike.
Some of the most fun I’ve EVER had on 2 wheels and of all The motorcycles I’ve had was when I bought my first scooter..a 2011 Honda pcx 125 brand new and joined a scooter club! Man the fun we had at rally’s and campsites plus riding backroads to breakfast places and riding on sidewalks (when safe with no People)😝👍 and now I love my new Honda adv 150 I just got and am planning to ride with a bunch of people from the old club again👍👍
I live in the Philippines. Scooters are the most common mode of transportation here. I've been canvassing the various scooters here,. I will be buying the new 2023 ADV 160 soon. I decided on a scooter vs a motorcycle for the same reason you have described. I am opting for the ADV over the PCX because of the higher ground clearance, because the road conditions here are pretty rough. No embarrassment here. Scooters are the "in thing" here.
I actually bought an ADV 150 just because I want to relax riding too. I can ride any big bikes be it sports or cruiser or naked, but scooters still has my heart :)
Not a lot of people ride scooters partly because they're seen as wimpy, nerdy or old fashioned (especially because they were actually really popular several decades ago). But I'll tell you one thing that can help change minds: 100 mpg. It's nice (also a lot of fun, lol).
Ride what you like man, dont worry what anyone else thinks whatever's fun for you is what you should ride, I think they have their own type of cool like Groms and Monkey bikes which are hugely popular.
Like the videos man you're honest and upfront. Funny story I actually bought a Honda Navi. Was too small for me and then I bought the ADV 150. Felt like I wanted more power and a real motorcycle so I upgraded to a cb500f. Short story I now miss the scooter and I'm taking the Honda 500 back to the dealer for loss unfortunately to get my scooter back they still have it. This is all been in the last 2 months been a waste of time and some money but how you going to know unless you try them right. I agree with what you're saying on the scooter being easy to ride and I do doordash and ubereats on the scooter and on the Honda 500 whereas the scooter was much much easier.
Interesting! You're right, you don't know until you try. I've thought about the Rebel 1100 many times, but right now I can't financially deal with all that so I'll have to enjoy my ADV 150 for a while. Maybe once I pay it off (years from now) I can look into something else if I feel the need. New bikes will be out then as well!
Got my ADV 150 in Thailand for about 1 month and I would say it's definitely the great choice if you are looking for a daily use scooter ! Easy to ride, easy to handle, enough storage to fit what you need. About the box cover of 12v Outlet, actually you don't need to drill the hole because there is a little space at the bottom of the cover which is designed for placing the phone cord when you want to charge the phone. So, you don't really need a flat phone cord but I do recommend to use braided one because it's far more durable. In Thailand, the ADV 150 will come with Disk brake on the front and back but we only have ABS only on the front. BTW, love your decals and vinyls. it make the bike looks more aggressive ! Thanks for the review. Safe ride.
Thanks and hello! I just saw this message sorry. I've always wanted to visit Thailand. I watch cams on UA-cam and love the area. :) Yes, I was stupid to drill that hole, not thinking. Oh well, live and learn! haha
Thanks for sharing your opinion on the Honda ADV. I also like the PCX, but I need something larger. My wife always rides with me and we travel a lot of highways where the speed limit is 70 mph ( I usually keep it at 65 mph). I am 70 years old and own a Harley trike which rides like a dump truck. I am wanting to go back to two wheels and something with a smooth ride. That's where scooters come in to the picture. I found a deal on a 2022 Kymco X-Town 300I but I am a little afraid of a Kymco. So I am still looking at others scooters like a Suzuki Burgman 400 or a Yamaha XMax (they are very hard to find). I can hardly wait to but my first scooter, I've owned many motorcycyles since 1967 and amny brands, but now I want a scooter. Wish me luck. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.
Thanks for chiming in! Yep, if you plan on highway travels you'll enjoy something slightly larger and heavier for more stability, comfort, and power when you need it. I'd try to find a Burgman, but I know those are difficult to find. I'm glad you two are still out there riding and we all need to experience that joy in life. Keep me posted on what you eventually get your hands on! Good luck. I'm sure something will come along.
I plan on getting one of these soon with gas prices sky rocketing lol. This thing look really cool, plus I only wanna ride around town and maybe door dash for fun with it.
Each time I fill up the tank at the pump I just smile. 🙂 Thought about Door Dash myself, but my channel eats most of my free time up. Thanks for the comment! 🙏
I agree with what you said, to live life how You want and not worry what others got to say who cares, I love this scooter it’s very connivente to get what you got to do done. Hope to get one soon here in Colorado. 👍🏽
Thanks for the comment! I've been to Colorado, but only the city of Denver area. I can imagine riding around the state on the back roads. Wow. How cool!
Well, we tend to get wiser in old-age, right? :) I've had my share of being young and dealing with peer pressure. No thanks. Not anymore! It's so much nicer to not care about much. lol
I've looked into the CTX700 actually. Might consider that if I upgrade one day! Yes, the Corbin seats are rated high for sure. Thanks for stopping by and be safe out there!
My first bike at the age of 10 was a Honda 70. I rode it around the mountains until I was 16 even though I had Yammy 360 thumper enduro. I had more fun on it then any other ride. I decided to show off for some girl and jumped it about 20 feet and broke the rear end out of it.. oops! The things we do for love...lol.
Thanks for the review. I decided I wanted a scooter over the winter and initially was attracted to the Honda Trail and the Super Cub. My uncle had a Trail 90 when I was a kid that I rode a bit, and I had an old Honda Cub. At the dealer I realized the ADV might be better for me, but decided I wanted a little more power but still a scooter. In the U.S. that basically means the Yamaha XMAX, Suzuki Burgman, BV 350 and the Vespa GTS 300 unless you want to buy used. I ordered the Vespa GTS; I prefer the look over the others and I stopped caring what people think when I was in junior high. Still waiting for it, lol. The 2021 and newer PCX has a slightly upgraded engine now (160cc and increased HP) that is rumored to be going in the ADV in the future. And I think your transmission is actually a CVT, not DCT. I live just north of you near Dayton. I'm signed up for the beginners course here in Ohio the first week of May, but since I'm still scooterless I'll be riding their bikes.
CVT...DCT....Oh, crap! lol I think you're correct. Oh well, getting old what can I say. Hey, at least it makes people pay attention! It's all good. Yep, I'm looking forward to that rider's course and I'm sure I'll learn a lot more than I realize. BTW, I think? you must ride their bikes during the course, at least that's what I read. I'll have to check. Maybe not, but since mine is an automatic they probably won't let me ride that anyway. Hmmm...
@@Trekopolis reading the course description, you can use your own scooter as long as it’s 100-500 cc. But you have to get permission from the “training location”. There is a personal vehicle inspection form they suggest bringing to class. I’d suggest asking on the first day which is classroom instruction about bringing your ADV 150 for the riding portion. I personally would benefit from a little clutch practice, lol. Interestingly, Ohio considers a 100 cc and up scooter to be a motorcycle.
Many of your reasons to downsize your ride are the same as mine so I will be taking delivery of a 2022 ADV150 in a couple days. I needed a light mc easy rider and the Honda ADV looks like the fun, economical high tech ride that meets my needs.
Hey trekopolis have you seen the dna performance air filter for the adv 150? It’s on Amazon for like $90! I did the free mod from owning a 2020 grom which is take the restrictive screen off of the stock air filter and then took that little snorkel on the airbox lid out to let in a little more air!👍 that made a difference on the grom but haven’t ridden mine yet to test it as I did it this evening!
As soon as I saw a new Suzuki Burgman 400 at the dealership I knew that was ny Next Bike. The Suzuki Burgman 400 will do 90 mph on the highway if I needed it too...I'm good with that kind of power at 53 years old 😀
I had 2004 Burgman 400. Loved it great ride around the country roads. Lots of storage under the seat. Just wore it out. Went with the Honda just needed to run around town, doctors appointments, library, etc.
this video is very informative. I live in Boston so everyone rides automatic bikes here. I bought a 2024 Trans pro Aviator. It comes in 3 weeks from now and i cant wait to ride it. Its gonna be a big change from the Sonic 50cc I ride now. Plus its gonna be a lot more comfortable. I want to start vloging.
Ah, the Honda "clone" as some say. The G-Aviator does resemble the ADV150. I've seen those in photos before. I think they are based in Colorado, forget now. Anyway, congrats! That will be a fun bump up from a 50cc for sure. If you get the Vlogging bug it can consume you, but I enjoy every minute of it, especially when I receive encouraging comments like yours. Thank you. You have to ignore the trolls out there or it can bring you down, but I focus on the positive support I receive and keep plugging away. Do it!
No, not embarrassed at all. AFAIC every motorcycle rider has no clue how limited & limiting their standard M/C's are versus a legit "Maxi Scooter". But that's ok to each his own. I just think the economy, utility, simplicity & rider protection my Burgman 400 Scoot has are really a unique & unbeatable package. I've had over a dozen bikes of many brands & types, this is my favorite. IF I ever change this bike, it will be for another Maxi Scooter, a newer model. I HAVE given thought to a larger ADV bike like V-Strom 650 or KTM 390 ADV. But one of those couldn't replace this Scoots virtues no way. Admittedly I'm intrigued by the 150-200 class smaller Scoots like yours. I am half temped to buy a 14" wheel GY6 based 150 and slowly build it up with every hop up part they sell. Then go & win stop light drags. Crazy huh ?
@@Kahuna_550 Actually I have become a "Boss" and now have a V-Strom 650 as my daily ride. About a month after making this comment a deer ran into my AN400 scooter & it was destroyed by the impact, I was moderately injured. Fortunately I had bought the Suzuki V-Strom about 2 weeks prior. It has definite advantages to the Maxi Scooter but some cons as well. It's all a trade-off, truly. In a perfect world I'd have both types, an ADV + Maxi Scooter lol
Thanks for this video, gave me a real sense of actually riding it around casually, as I'm 70 now and have always wanted a smallish bike but I don't like shifting at all. When I was in my 20's I borrowed a friend's Honda 450 and drove it around all day and really liked liked it. I want, as you say, "easy". My concern with this is just having to wear a helmet, I don't want to put on a full face helmet because it has got to be hotter than heck under there. Have you worn a open face type helmet in the past? I would wear my shades with them.
In Ohio, helmets are mandatory until you get your full motorcycle license endorsement. Then I'm not required to wear one. I never tried an open face helmet, no. But, I might skip the helmet if I'm slowly riding around my neighborhood at very slow speeds. On major roads with heavy traffic I would wear a helmet at all times. It's a personal choice. I'm used to it now actually. 😉✌
Depends on the full face you wear. I wear a Shoei RF1400 and live in the Southwest USA. I have zero issues overheating with this lid since the airflow is remarkable. But as an option, there are always modular helmets too
@@Trekopolis I'm on a 2020 suzuki burgman 400 and wear a 3/4 helmet with a face Sheild and it let's lots of air flow in and stops bugs from hitting your face
Hey thanks! Appreciate that. Yep, the Xmax is nice too. For about 1k more money (new) you can get more power and dual disk brakes, and it's around 100 pounds heavier so maybe a little more stability? I've never ridden one though so I can't really comment on how it rides. The looks of that machine is pretty nice too. You almost have to ride both and get what you like best. They should allow you to ride them if you have an endorsement. If not, walk away and try another dealer. ;)
This would be perfect to ride at the beach, everyone there is riding the electric Rad bikes, they are a god send for the kids who live in the hills, but most all of those bikes will be a landfill in 10 years guarantee, one these will still be going strong. Wrung what you brung no shame in the ride.
The ADV 150 is a V-Matic belt drive, not a DCT... Honda's DCT is a shift-able 6 speed using paddles on the handlebars. The X-ADV 750 has the DCT but is not available in the US
People love to laugh at my Buddy 50. It's just stupid fun, reliable and it makes those fun 2 stroke sounds. It paid for itself in less than 2 months doing food delivery and has been my daily for over a year. I'm thinking the Adv150 would be a better all around vehicle now that I need 55-65mph and my poor 50cc can't get past 45mph and hold.
I always find it really funny when people are a little more confrontational at the idea of a scooter, listing all the upsides and watch them flounder and say "well it's a little girl bike!" or something along the lines. Which I translate to a defeat. Although that mostly only happens online. I don't think I have ever talked to anyone in person who looked down on them or at least they never expressed it. Few guys seeing a small bike got really nostalgic remembering the days they bombed around on their grandfather's farm on a little dirt bike.
Thanks for the videos. The adv actually has a cvt transmission, not a dct. Two different animals. Most scooters are cvt , continuously variable transmission.
I actually kind of feel that mentality against scooters is getting less and less everyday. Scooters are actually pretty popular where I live. I see them all the time. A lot of former "motorcycle only" guys are now warming to them and see some of the advantages they have only the much bigger, faster, and powerful motorcycles. Other than the smaller 50cc scooters, most above 150cc seem more than capable of staying with normal everyday city, rural, and interstate traffic. Often leaving everyone in the dust at stoplights. 😂 The bigger ones have more than enough raw power and speed to handle highway and freeway traffic.
Americans have this bigger, faster, status symbol mentality that I've never related to. I'm not materialistic and value my hard-earned income. I'm as frugal as anyone so buying this bike was unusual for me. But, she's all I have. I don't have a boat, a Harley, a huge truck, play golf four times a week, etc. My focus is my family as a provider and for me that's more important than a lot of "toys". Thanks for the comment! 🙏
I have never once used the kill switch on my ADV150. I have always turned it off with the blue circle switch. I don't imagine there's any harm turning it off that way, right? Enjoyed this video.
Right, I see a lot of people killing the engine by dropping the kick-stand. It's just a personal preference. The rider's course tries to explain by cutting off the engine using the switch it becomes a habit and that's a better way to do it in case of emergency. I don't think there's any true harm doing it other ways as long as you are stopped. So I try to make it a habit too. I guess there's reasons for everything!
Yes I've seen his work before. Thanks for the reminder. He's been around over nine (9) years and has a successful channel no doubt. It takes time. One day... :)
@@Trekopolis Yes, new PCX is 160cc, They also released/Introduced Honda Adv 160 in Indonesia. Our dealer importing 20 unit from Indonesia. I booked one (Matt Black) and will get within 20 days ✌️
It's not a DCT, there is no chain. It's a CVT with a belt. It's a massive difference in the behavior of accelerating. The only Honda "scooters" with chain and DCT are X-ADV and Forza 750.
Yeah, I know. It was one of those brain farts cause I'm getting old and I said the wrong term. But, I didn't want to pull the video and go through all that. Lesson learned for sure. 🤔😂🤓
@@Trekopolis Yep 🙂 700km till now. Easy to ride, manouver, consumes about 3.3l/100km, big storage box, lot of power, no average car has a chance to overtake you at the traffic lights - perfect commuting bike. Best! 🇵🇱
If only the ADV 350 was available here in the US. I love my ADV 150 and commute with it daily - weather permitting. I am thinking about a cb500x ( which I wish came in a DCT version) but I am not even planning on trading in my adv150 in for that if I go that route. About the only bike I might trade it in for is the ADV 350 if it makes it stateside. Other than that, I plan on keeping it for the long haul. My corbin seat just shipped and I am looking forward to that.
@Trekopolis I'm 32 I go for one month out the year. This year be my third time there plus getting married to my beautiful Fhilipna! I would definitely recommend going there if you haven't. Plus if you are single its a plus!
hi bud, You right as not too many scooters in US besides in Hawaii, I was so happy when I went there to visit because they had scooters everywhere lol and drivers of all ages, teens adults or even elders. I wish more people buy or ride more scooters specially now that the gas price is out of control. I use my ADV150 for commute so I don't add miles to my Honda civic, and every time I use my ADV150 is nothing but fun drive :) . On the fender topic, I would not remove it because then you will get mud or dirt on your back after driving, just like you I don't mind the look of the scooter. Take care and thx for the video
Yep, I don't care about the looks of the fender. It was designed to serve a good purpose so I'll leave it alone, for now. ;) Also, since I work from home 4-days per week I don't spend hardly anything on gas and I plan to ride my motorbike to work this summer if weather is nice. I think that will be a blast. Be Safe!
Tell me about the brakes on this bike, still have the front disk on the right handlebar...and the rear with the right foot? How does the anti-lock braking work?
Left brake handle/Rear wheel, Right brake handle/Front wheel. Anti-lock on front wheel only and works just like a regular vehicle. If you apply the front brake too hard and the wheel locks up on a slippery surface, the brake pulsates very fast to achieve some traction to prevent total wheel lock-up. I've never had it happen to me yet while riding because I typically ride in dry weather only. 😉🙏
You're closer to my age than you sound. I'm planning on joining the scooter community in the spring with a Helix. Hopefully my buddies will join with me. If it happens, we could start a gang 😂 We're all former Ross boys still in the area.
I grew up in Mt. Healthy. Yep, people say I sound like a kid. I'll take that any day. Better than the alternative I guess. We had a gang of four or five with Tomos mopeds as teenagers. We'd clip those long feathers on the brake cables and thought we were something special. I ride past Ross when I go to Miami Whitewater. Did it this past summer actually. Those Helix bikes are cool! ;)
The seat height is a little concerning to me. I live in the PNW and plan on using this to commute to work (no highway) and offroad on the weekends. I have a lot of experience offroad and am used to riding my cb500x (32 inch seat height) in rainstorms. Do you think this scooter is stable enough to be used in all weather, including maybe light snow? I know normally scooters with lower seat height are a little more usable in snow (ua-cam.com/video/YaHyzt6cqA8/v-deo.html) just worried this might be too tall, and maybe even too heavy to stop a snowy slide. Is it easy to get your foot down?
I think my inseam is like 30", but it's not hard to balance at a stop. I can't be flat-footed though. The bike is light enough that it's easy to keep upright. Never rode in the snow so can't say! I'd think with the right winter/snow tires installed it would be doable? Maybe I'll test that one day when it snows on the stock tires. Hmmm.... :)
First I have heard about this scooter.been thinking of the monkee, but I like this better.i have a honda reflex 250cc now.but at 68 , I feel it's too heavy and not nimble.looking to downsize.problem is,hard to find any, waiting almost a year for a monkey.there are 2 of these in florida but not red.love the red one.guess I will keep looking

Hi From Ireland. You Asked About Michelin City Grip, Tyres, Great Tyre, For the City. I am Looking at The new Honda ADV 350, As We Dont get the 150 in Ireland. Good Luck.
There's a country music song that says don't give a damn about what other people think now what do u think about that lol I'm going to get me one like the Pcx 150
I daily drive a ruckus, atleast for next few weeks until I upgrade and give my mom my ruckus, but I have daily drive the ruckus for few months, and there are few occasions where some guys will laugh, and honestly I laugh with them and don't really care what they think, the ruckus actually does look a little silly, but even for those wannabe macho man guys who say stuff like get a real bike, well I don't ever consider them or their opinions, because those kind people don't want see anymore in life happy about anything, because they are not happy
Yep. That's on them, not me. If they aren't making fun of a motorbike they'd find something else. It's called secretly insecure people. A confident person simply doesn't care about the opinions of others. ✌🏼
The other day I was going 50 in a 40 mph area on my scoot. I was paying attention to the traffic and then I see a motorcycle cop with a radar gun and expected a nice ticket. Luckily he decided not to stop me. Probably because he like the scooter. 😁🛵
Are you embarrassed owning a scooter? 🤔 How do you describe your bike?
@@CopyWhoTV Outstanding input!
The Zuma is one popular bike for sure. Glad you enjoy it and thanks for the comment!
When I get older I don't care what others think of me! I just want comfort for myself! Just ordered ADV 150 cannot wait to ride it!
Yep! Glad I am past that peer pressure young kid stuff. That was brutal.
Not embarrassed at all. Love the feeling of scooters. Very fun.
Great! And I agree. :)
Do you! I’m 28 years only and ride a 1290SAR but I’ve daily rode my Grom for the past year and come tomorrow I’ll be rocking a 22 ADV150. You can’t waste your life worrying about other people opinions. I’m gonna be crockin and 3/4 rockin on my ADV without a care in the world😂🤙🤙
It's a shame the majority of younger people don't understand that mentality. But, I hear ya! Enjoy!
@@nothanks1627 You're wife enjoys riding? That's unique! Very nice. Thanks for the comment!
I think the wife would murder me if I had that many bikes. LOL! Nice!
How in the world did you break the handlebars?? JK. :P Well, I hope it's nothing too serious!
@@Trekopolis they’ve been crooked since the day I bought it.
@@GasWorksISO Interesting. Well, hope it works out!
My brand new Honda ADV 160 Dynamic White has just been delivered to me yesterday mate, it's very handsome scooter indeed 🔥🔥🔥
Very nice! I love the white version, but not available in the US. :( Enjoy!!
I have a bike I can hammer through the gears on. I ride the ADV 150 more though because it is comfortable and so easy that it feels like a vacation from the other bike.
That's a great way to put it... A vacation from other bikes. lol Love it.
Some of the most fun I’ve EVER had on 2 wheels and of all
The motorcycles I’ve had was when I bought my first scooter..a 2011 Honda pcx 125 brand new and joined a scooter club! Man the fun we had at rally’s and campsites plus riding backroads to breakfast places and riding on sidewalks (when safe with no
People)😝👍 and now I love my new Honda adv 150 I just got and am planning to ride with a bunch of people from the old club again👍👍
Bikes are supposed to be fun, never complicated. I hear ya! 😎
Thanks for sharing!
I actually bought an ADV 150 just because I want to relax riding too.
I can ride any big bikes be it sports or cruiser or naked, but scooters still has my heart :)
Sorry for the late reply, message got hung up in some filter. No idea why! Yes...definitely relaxing for sure.
Not a lot of people ride scooters partly because they're seen as wimpy, nerdy or old fashioned (especially because they were actually really popular several decades ago).
But I'll tell you one thing that can help change minds: 100 mpg.
It's nice (also a lot of fun, lol).
Well said! I'll take 100 mpg any day of the week. 👍🏼😎
If it makes me happy, I don’t really care about what everyone thinks
And that's the point in life...joy!
Ride what you like man, dont worry what anyone else thinks whatever's fun for you is what you should ride, I think they have their own type of cool like Groms and Monkey bikes which are hugely popular.
Oh, I know. I do! People who make fun of scooters secretly want one, but their buddies would razz them too much. lol
@@Trekopolis update. Got my adv150 back. Less power for sure but it isn't a dog. Much easier to ride. Great to have that storage back. Ride safe.
Have a 2022 adv 150,I love it and could give two shits what people think, 100 miles to the gallon,Who laughing now.
I didn't even mention the gas mile advantages of a smaller CC engine. So true!
Wow. How cool!
Love the video so informative and your outlook on life is right on the money thankyou
Well, we tend to get wiser in old-age, right? :) I've had my share of being young and dealing with peer pressure. No thanks. Not anymore! It's so much nicer to not care about much. lol
We love our ADV150. I have a CTX700 DCT for longer rides. Add the Corbin seat it's a game changer.
I've done some crazy things because of females too, I get it! haha
That couple with the car on side of the road were looking for their “trunk monkey” haha remember that?
I don't think I do! lol From a movie?
Many of your reasons to downsize your ride are the same as mine so I will be taking delivery of a 2022 ADV150 in a couple days. I needed a light mc easy rider and the Honda ADV looks like the fun, economical high tech ride that meets my needs.
Nice! Keep us posted!
How's it been?
I'm all about ease and comfort. Twist & Go is the way for me.
Can't agree more! Thanks! 🙏
I have not! Thanks for the tip and I'll check it out. I do plan to research air filters some day. ;)
As soon as I saw a new Suzuki Burgman 400 at the dealership I knew that was ny Next Bike. The Suzuki Burgman 400 will do 90 mph on the highway if I needed it too...I'm good with that kind of power at 53 years old 😀
I've always liked the looks of those honestly and they look so comfortable.
AFAIC every motorcycle rider has no clue how limited & limiting their standard
M/C's are versus a legit "Maxi Scooter".
Crazy huh ?
Be a boss and get the AK 550 😉
@@Kahuna_550
Actually I have become a "Boss" and now have a V-Strom 650 as my daily ride.
Checkout "Back waters and back roads". Great scooter treks and shanty boat adventures!
Sounds cool! Definitely will look that one up.
Love this video, great vibes, carefree. Have you heard of the Yamaha Xmax, I am on the fence on the Honda adv or the Yamaha xmax
Now all I need is a beach! That would be awesome.
The ADV 150 is a V-Matic belt drive, not a DCT... Honda's DCT is a shift-able 6 speed using paddles on the handlebars. The X-ADV 750 has the DCT but is not available in the US
Right, I goofed and said DCT and got stuck in my head for some reason. ;) Getting old...
You'll notice the speed difference for sure. It's really quick off the throttle actually.
@@Trekopolis My dealer only had the PCX 160 ABS so I went with that. They are stupid quick but seriously needs a windscreen.
They've not yet matured enough to understand. Give them time. 👍🏼
Thanks for the videos. The adv actually has a cvt transmission, not a dct. Two different animals. Most scooters are cvt , continuously variable transmission.
Yep, I was informed earlier. 😂 Getting old...what can I say. Just making sure everyone is on their toes that's all!
I like that fella down in TX he rides his everywhere
@@Trekopolis To me that's a great way and the best way to live. 👍
You're A Great man among men!! A real man. I salute you brother. God Bless you and protect you.
Wow, thanks! 😉
I had a old mini bike way back in the day with the big fat tire in rear lol
I can think of lots of people with large tires in the rear. :P
I ride large bikes but wouldn’t be phased riding a scooter. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever.
That's why people have both! Maybe one day. ;)
I have one and love it, funny to me guy on supper motorcycle pulls up at light next to me didn’t even say hi😂
Next time!
I'll go riding with these riders any day.😂
Mitch's scooter stuff is a 😎 site.
Yes I've seen his work before. Thanks for the reminder. He's been around over nine (9) years and has a successful channel no doubt. It takes time. One day... :)
Many thank for such awesome review, Saving money for this thing (6 month, cuz I don't make much :D )
Not sure about the 160 yet. I haven't had time to research. The PCX I think has the 160cc in it though. ?
@@Trekopolis Yes, new PCX is 160cc, They also released/Introduced Honda Adv 160 in Indonesia. Our dealer importing 20 unit from Indonesia. I booked one (Matt Black) and will get within 20 days ✌️
Come to Bali n try your riding use small matic scooter through some beautiful rice field small streets over there😊
Maybe one day!
I own ADV 350 and I love it. Take care!
a 350 huh? Nice! I'd love to ride one of those and compare. 😎
@@Trekopolis Might be worth looking into getting it shipped from overseas. Shipping cost will probably be 1/3rd of the scooter price though.
I just pick up a adv 160 in the Philippines for when I'm there visiting!! Super nice!!
Nice! I'd love to visit there. How cool is that? Well, enjoy your stay and be safe!
@Trekopolis I'm 32 I go for one month out the year. This year be my third time there plus getting married to my beautiful Fhilipna!
I would definitely recommend going there if you haven't. Plus if you are single its a plus!
Hello, you mentioned the brand of gloves (EVS) in an earlier comment, I'm curious as to the actual model and size you settled on? Thank you
Here's what I have: amzn.to/3cNI8bg
hi bud,
You right as not too many scooters in US besides in Hawaii, I was so happy when I went there to visit because they had scooters everywhere lol and drivers of all ages, teens adults or even elders.
Those Helix bikes are cool! ;)
Cool looking bike!
Thanks! It definitely turns heads and I know it's not me, it's the bike. ;)
Sgt Major says stay off his Grass.
I just picked a red on up
2023
Only dislike is the rear suspension is not soft at all
Yes, not the softest in the world. Could be worse I guess. ;)
is that black color or darker grey? beautiful bike man!
They list it as Black/Silver. Thanks Man!
Yeah, good luck! I like the red one as well. Keep searching and I'm sure something will come around. 😎✌
0:25 Why is the rear wheel spinning on idle while some scoots doesn't?
Idle might be set a tad too high. I can look into that so thanks for the reminder.
If you don't have a M endorsement yet have you been pulled over or messed with?
Not once. In fact, I know guys who ridden motorcycles their entire lives without having an endorsement. I guess they don't pull bikes over much. IDK!
Hey Trekopolis! I'm curious. What gloves are you wearing in the video? Do you like them?
Brand is EVS which are made in Pakistan. Mostly leather, but has six (6) different materials. Love them, yes! Tried on a dozen gloves until I settled on them. 😎✌
Hi From Ireland. You Asked About Michelin City Grip, Tyres, Great Tyre, For the City. I am Looking at The new Honda ADV 350, As We Dont get the 150 in Ireland. Good Luck.
Hello from the US! Thanks for the info and maybe one day I may try them. It will be a while though. ;)
Scooter, s are 😎 cool!anything with two wheels float,s my boat 🚢 BROCHACHO Get you some!!!!
LOL Thanks for the comment. Be safe!
My perfect "stroke recovery " bike. 2016 pcx
I saw a white 2022 PCX (my favorite color) at the dealer yesterday. Beautiful. 😉✌
Solid rant
Honda Adv 150 the best scooter in Asia!🤔✔️💯
Perhaps one of the best in the world? 😉😎✌
Watching from PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭
I'd love to ride a scooter over there! I'd feel right at home. Thanks for the comment! 😎🙏🌴
There's a country music song that says don't give a damn about what other people think now what do u think about that lol I'm going to get me one like the Pcx 150
Do it! ;)
I like Embarrassment, I want more of it. When I buy one, I'm going to wear a PINK BIKINI and I have a beard.
Get on TikTok and film those rides! You'll be an instant success with all the kids. LOL
More videos please
They are coming on a regular basis. Now if I could only figure out why half my comments show up a month later I'd be all set! LOL
Will you be getting the adv160?
Nope. Too similar to what I already have. I'm keeping this and will add another bike in the future maybe.
I'm also from Ohio and I Ride a Scooter because...Scooters are Cool 😎
Cool is what you enjoy, not what someone else enjoys! ;) I agree.
I have a small bumper sticker that says too old to give a crap what you think on my scooter
Preach it! ;) Agree
Say no to adult peer pressure
NO! :P Yep, I do.
This dude waffles about nothing lol
There was a show called Seinfeld that did fairly well. At least I have fun! 🤓😂
Who cares the important thing that you reach your destination..
True true!! Agree... :) And in one piece!
FortNine videos almost have an evil vibe,..don't like them
Ya, different for sure. I can see that.
I have a fun riding my XMAX and Ruckus! 🛵
Yep, great bikes too!
The other day I was going 50 in a 40 mph area on my scoot. I was paying attention to the traffic and then I see a motorcycle cop with a radar gun and expected a nice ticket. Luckily he decided not to stop me. Probably because he like the scooter. 😁🛵
Usually motorbikes are left alone for some reason. Not sure why! lol
@@Trekopolis as long as you're not doing anything wreckless you'll be alright.
