I never used a kit lens but, used primes instead. When I found a mint used copy of this lens, I snapped it up and I love it.
Does anyone has tested this lens on a MFT camera? I want to know if the EF version paired with the Metabones Speedbooster has any negative effect on the final image.

Hi, can you please review the neewer 35mm f1.7 cctv lens for sony e mount & compare it with the fotasy 35mm cctv lens. Those are the cheap lenses.
There's not even a single video about the neewer 35mm cctv lens. & This neewer lens is cheaper than the fotasy lens.

Thanks! It would have been great for it to have the same zoom range as the kit lens, but for me it's the best replacement so far.

How is this better than the much cheaper sony kit lens from 16-50mm? The stabilization and horizon you get with the kit lens is very helpful.
currently using the 16-50mm and 55-210mm lenses. Especially happy with the zoom lens for all from architecture, wildlife and even a ok attempt on the moon
I don't know much but probably because of the constant 2.8 f stop

the sony 16-50mm has a lot of drawbacks, but its a true pancake and makes me carry my camera more as fits in my sling. The sigma seems like poor value, so think I'll pass. Any other upgrade alternatives? Im covered on the zoom lens front
What exactly makes you think it's poor value? There are alternatives, but they are all more expensive, bigger and heavier. I have this lens and I absolutely love it on my a6000. The alternatives are either primes, which I don't like, or tamron 17-70, sony 16-55 and zeiss 16-70 f4
