- After two years of countless hours in my studio, assembling and testing out various gear into a balanced setup and finding my own characteristic sound, I am proud to present you my synthesizer liveset 🎛️. This 50min long project contains 15 of my favorite own tracks that I produced, mixed and performed on hardware samplers, drummachines & analog/dgtl synthesizers. I hope you‘ll enjoy listening to it as much as i did during the performance and dm me your favorite part of the set (mine is at 22‘ as it is one of my first polished productions). Headphones strongly recommended 🎧

This is absolutely superb on every level. The music is fantastic, the mix and sound is perfect, and the way you have pulled this together on those wonderful boxes is amazing. My mind is blown. Full respect for this and congrats.
Thank you so much!!
Freshest sound I’ve heard in a while. Keep ‘em comin’!
Thats a lota power density in that case :D Lifegoals to build something that closes up nice.
was quite a challenge to plan how all cables and gear should fit hahah
This is what EDM dj’s PRETEND they are doing up on stage twiddling with knobs while their pre-recorded tracks play … its incredible you did this all seamlessly , super sick tracks and your performance was amazing
It is criminal that this is your only video, I need more
hahha, will start working on a new one soon :) already have the location
dave-mech-setup ;-) ... nice tunes!
Dave Mech has been a huge inspiration for me😍🔥
you got me with the first Kick ^^
This is beautifully executed! Such a clean sound and mix overall. No easy task. Much respect!
This is fantastic. You've really isolated core essential pieces for your sound. Super impressive.
insane!!
Dope !!! Bro we need a birds perspective hand cam asap !!!
Man this is good. I liked the light idea to avoid the cable mess. Cheers.
Dayummmmm!!!! Fire my man !!!!!!!
Long life to dawless....
Master piece in one word. Keep it up!
thank you so much!🫶🏽
Advanced mix, clean sound and live! I know what it takes so ... Respect!
Loving it so much!!! Amazing set. Your hard work definitely paid off.
Buen trabajo. Me encanta la sencillez del vídeo. Un escenario abierto y diáfano, elegante para centrarnos solo en la música. Enhorabuena por el resultado.
Damn just found this in my recommended, this is super cool
Very fresh setup! I like how you're using the SE-02 to complement the Digitone with a warmer lead tone but not overcomplicating the entire rig. Hard to find quality Elektron / live jam style setups in the Melodic Tech style so thank you - very inspiring!!
Thank you man! yess the se-02 complements the FM sounds from the digitone really well😍 Also thinking about testing out the Moog Mother 32
So dope! Hopefully only your first live set. Looking forward to more ❤
Dope man. Style. Awesome. Like your set up.
Great performance and set man. You got me hooked all the way. I really enjoyed the work on the video as well, the light and minimalist approach are complementing your set very well. Keep them coming! I'll be around.
This deserves 10 times the views at least🔥🔥🔥
bro how is this not going viral..
@@Bonn5656 totally wrong bro. Has nothing to do with mastering & mixing or having a finished product. . The YT algorithm will soon realize people like myself are watching the entire video because this dude is super talented. I guarantee he will have double the number of subscribers in a month. This dude is the real deal and no one is expecting a properly mixed & mastered set when he is experimenting with his new setup. I think the man is brilliant but that's just my opinion of course. I would pay to see him perform a live set. Come to Austin TX CHENIX. The underground techo scene will LOVE your vibe.
Absolutely beautiful Chenix!! Outstanding mix and sound 👌🙏💯
Amazing sound - love it! Well mixed!!
You have all my respect.
Wow, Respect!
D O P E elektron's shit! ☢ Brilliant!

wow - good choices ;-) - nice flow and good quality !!
Thank you so much!!
Incredible!

Damn sounds very professional! I can only imagine how much time and effort was put into it. Love the fact you went the extra mile with the video as well. Subbed! :)
Muy bueno bro! Terrible sonido !
Super nice original sound! Love the setup too, very complementary choice of instruments (lots of overlap with my own!)
Awesome work 🔥
Great set!
Loving the recurring noise sweeps throughout the set.
Well done!
Nice vibe, really well done. Hope you get to perform more and expand your talent. Reminded me in a sense of some classic Sasha sets.
Stunning work!
Totally brilliant live set!
This is outstanding! Great work, liked and subbed.
Nice set!!! Great work

Great setup - looking forward to se/listen to more!
Very well done, thanks for the blood, sweat and tears, it was worth it. Great setup :-)

Very tight! The setup is awesome and compact! Great job, man! Are you achieving a tighter mix because of the analog heat? I would also like to know if you’re feeding the SE-02 to the Microcosm? Or it’s the Digitone?
Thank you🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yes the analog heat glues the mix together and works well with the clean boost. no only the digitone runs through the microcosm😊
Really nice sound and setup. I'd be interested in your thoughts about Analog Heat vs Microcosm and what you use each for.
Thank you!! I use the Analog Heat as Master Saturator and apply subtle sidechain, and add some boost to the mix. There will be a new Analog Heat + FX, where you can also use it as a Mastereffect. The digitone is routed through the microcosm, and works more like an ambient effect that combines granular delay and reverb.
👍

New subscriber here. Your music is freaken dope. Keep it up bro. You are inspiring me to get my dawless setup and working because I have no clue what I am doing at the moment. 🔥👁🙏
thank you so much🫶🏽🔥
Love this!
I have a quite similar setup.
Which sounds are you using digitone for and which sounds come from the SE-02?
Keep it up!
Looking forward to the next video!
Thanks!!
I use the SE-02 mostly for the bass and some plucky sounds. you can almost achieve some arp sounds with the built in delay (i add some reverb with the DB4 too)
The Digitone does really well with sub basses, arps and pads :)
Big Up for the work! Really enjoying it. May I ask what case you are using? Is it UDG?
Awesome, more please ;)
I recorded a new one few weeks ago :) will be released very soon!
Thats awesome cant wait @@chenix.wav_
Just uploaded a new set on my channel:) feel free to check it out🤲@@Fusion_1994
@@chenix.wav_ really fantastic, congrats
Great set - curious about your routing across the rig :) sounds great
Audio Routing:
Digitakt --> XoneDB4
Digitone --> Microcosm --> XoneDB4
SE02 --> XoneDB4
XoneDB4 --> Analog Heat
The Digitakt ist the master clock :)
@@chenix.wav_thank you! 👌🏻
❤+
Awesome stuff, are you controlling the SE02 with CC on Elektron? Random question but what case are you using?
Thank you! yess the SE02 is sequenced with the Digitakt and its also sending cc messages. Im using the magma xxl plus case :)
Amazing sounds, would you elaborate on the audio routing and Midi sync?
killer set! is that a magma case? been looking to fit my elektron stuff in something recently...
yess its a magma case:) its very lightweight. but sometimes bends a little when carrying all these machines around in it haha
Beutiful sounds at 30 min man,
A question, do you feel that the analog heat does alot for the sound?
I only add subtle drive and saturation on the master with the clean boost mode and add a little bit of resonance in the low frequencies. There‘s also the sidechain effect that you can do with the LFO‘s. I think it’s definitely worth it, especially if you perform DAWless. But it comes with a heavy pricetag.
very nice man, what is your audio routing like? Is everything running through the Heat at the end of the chain?
thanks man🙏🏽🙏🏽 everything runs into separate channels of the xone (digitone through microcosm), and yess the master runs thorugh the heat😊
Amazing performance! What case are you using?
thank you! :)
its the magma xxl case
Excellent set, such a well built rig too. How'd you trigger the noise sweeps for transitions while keeping the DT in global mute mode? I'm struggling to trigger one shot loops while going back to mute mode quickly enough.
Thank you!🙌🏽
I have dedicated channels (3-5) for Fx oneshots and noise sweeps that stay active during the transitions😊 And i stay with the global mute mode for the entire set
@@chenix.wav_ Clever! That's a great way to go about it, thanks!
loving it mate! well done! what is the routing of the setup?
Thank you🙏🏽🙏🏽
The Digitakt sends midiclock to all the other gear and is routed to the Channel1 of the XoneDB4, the Digitone goes through the Microcosm into Channel2. Channel3 is used for looping the Input1, and lastly the RolandSe02 is routed in Channel4. The master of the DB4 then runs through the Analog Heat.
@@chenix.wav_ cool! and man you are an inspiration! is the se-02 sequenced from digitakt or digitone? does it only do fat bass lines or you are using it for melody lines too? i need to blow dust from mine haha! finally: can you please add this set to your soundcloud?
Thank you for your kind words🥰
The Se-02 is sequenced by the Digitakt, and i use it mostly for the analog sounding bass. I also add a little bit of reverb with the XoneDB4. But tbf, with a Digitone in the Setup, my Se02 was lying around in the dust too for quite some time.
Ill upload to my Soundcloud next week, and will link it in the Description🙏🏽
@@chenix.wav_ man no need to be humble! it is epic work! i hope i’ll find time and energy to get to that level one day 🤞🏻
Great vibes! And that’s a nice suitcase, where’d you get it from?
thank you!🫶🏽
its the magma xxl case :)
@@chenix.wav_ Thank you
great mix of technoid something
Lovely, which synth are you mainly using for the bass?
Thank you!🙏🏽 mostly from the digitone. it covers all subbasses and even some analog sounding bass leads
Very good job!! Ive got question for you, im using analog heat as master glue too, but sometimes im not sure about settings.. can you share with me your favorite patch/values for this purpose? Thanks a lot man :)
thank you! i actually use the enhancer patch (clean boost), just a little modified with a bit more drive, and a small low end boost. i could also check the exact values if you want :)
@@chenix.wav_ if you dont mind ill be glad!:) im using saturation, envelope follower target to drive or volume, still cannot decide which sounds better😄and trying some tweaking with Base and Width. Think about control with CV from A4, you got any succes with that? thanks))
Nice :D , i have a somewhat similar setup, but in a way too huge case at the moment. What is the brand of the flightcase you're using? it seems perfect for what i'm doing too
its the magma xxl case :) really lightweight and somehow fits everything perfectly
@@chenix.wav_ wow that's funny i literally just ordered and received the magma xxl and indeed, my two syntakt and octatrack fit on the milimeter next to eachother, pretty crazy :D . amazing case!
The question and answer I was looking for, thank you.
I am considering buyingthe Microcosm. So you use it with the Digitone. Curious, can you do per track effects with the Micro? Or is it just a master effect? I am new to all this. Just got the Digitone last week, the Syntakt should be delivered today. Then I want the Micro, I believe, and was considering the Mother 32 for that Moog sound, but after this video I can't decide between the 32 r this Roland. I want to produce Melodic Techno/House as well.
hey! yess the microcosm is a mastereffect for all 4 tracks. it works soo well with the digitone and i didnt expect it to sound that smooth with the lower frequencies. perfect for transitions also. been considering the syntakt as well. let me know how youre using it. in terms of the synths: i think the roland is more versatile, has lots of presets and custom preset slots, but sometimes struggles with clean bass sounds. i would say that the moog mother 32 has the signature bass sound that most producers look for.
Really wel done! All the hours practicing, it's noticeable. Well balanced, nice flow, clean. I think there could be a little more ear candy, it would give it just that little something extra in the cleaner/quieter parts in the mix. That's hardly a point of critique though, because this is an excellent live performance and could be played live on stage easily.
Impressive stuff! Is it even a portable setup, just close the lid and go? 🤯
thank you🙏🏽🙏🏽 yess its fully portable🔥
@@chenix.wav_ Super cool! Which case is that, if you don’t mind asking? Is it one from Magma?
@@gestalter2543 yes its the largest case from magma, 50x80x16cm
Do you stick to one key for all of the tracks to make sure they sound good together?
No, most of them are in different keys, but as i am not layering melodies, the transitions with basslines is working quite smooth
What kind of synth setup would you recommend for beginners?
hey :) i would recommend any groovebox to start. you can sequence multiple sounds at once and build the foundation from there . there are many options for each budget. the best way to find a synth is to try them out in a store or listening to their sounds/presets on youtube to find what fits to your souund. i chose the digitone for its versatility and also rather atmospheric/glassy/darker/melancholic sounds. you can also route your synth through a guitar pedal, lets say a reverb or delay pedal to spice it up.
curious about signal chain
Digitakt --> XoneDB4
Digitone --> Microcosm --> XoneDB4
SE02 --> XoneDB4
XoneDB4 --> Analog Heat
