I'm good at Tetris, too! Maybe that's why organizing is hard. I can fit so much into a small space that it's hard to pare down to what I actually need and use in my current life (as opposed to my fantasy, past, or future life). Thanks, once again for the encouragement!

I am so overwhelmed! I was less overwhelmed when all 6 of my boys were home, now with just four, I don’t understand why it’s so much harder.. I know it’s the clothing, they’re 11, 13, 13 and 15, and they play every sport so it’s not just regular clothing but uniforms and accessories. I’m disabled, fractured spine, so I am limited but not anymore than when we went from 3 to 6 in a day! I’m determined to tackle it all before Christmas and I’m praying that I can keep my momentum going and get it done! Please pray for me to give myself grace but to keep going! Thank you!
I relate! Physical limitations can make parenting so hard at times. Praying God gives you the clarity you need to make changes and find a less stressful way! I had to let go of some of my perfectionism in how the laundry is done in our house especially when it comes to putting it away, and once I realized that was where I was getting stuck in the stress it made a world of difference! One of her videos she was talking about finding that thing that’s causing you the most stress in your house and start there - I’m applying that in a more detailed way to breaking down systems too!
Thank you! I am making progress with the laundry, it’s the putting away for me, too! I am getting rid of so much that they’ve outgrown or don’t wear and it definitely feels good. It’s an extra busy time for my family so it’s not the best time but I’m giving myself some grace if I don’t get everything I planned to get done, done. I have faith that God will get me through this! Praying!
As I declutter and minimize, I find containers to be mostly unnecessary. As the minimalist saying goes: Containers are coffins for clutter. Looking forward to the Get Organized HQ.

I put like things together, so I know where things are. I don't put things in different containers. That would take time and then you don't have expiration dates or ingredient, calorie lists.

Short containers! Yes! Using those same Y weave baskets from Target here. Baking cabinet was first. I realized that I am a “chucker,” but need a container to chuck ‘into.' Measuring is one, cupcakes liners and candles another etc. then snack cabinet: chips, cookies and candy, popcorn. No more avalanche!

condo flooded! currently living in a hotel with my messes and terrified about moving back in after restoration! Everything (no time to declutter) is currently in storage somewhere and unpacking is going to be a nightmare!!!

I ❤️ U! A Michigander after my own heart! If it doesn’t work (feel great and make me smile), it’s out the door. I “try things on” for a week or two, but they have to “earn their keep!” I decanted those spices...drove my “GA boy” crazy (he does 90% of the cooking-his choice) until he asked if he could take those cute little bottles out of alphabetical order!🤣 Works for me. One of the presenters from OrganizeHQ last year zoned the kitchen, and I asked honey what he wanted. We both enjoy the set up now.

Crazy how gorgeous you look in that colour (which is so bad on me but I love seeing it on others). So my take at the pre-retirement grandparents/empty nest stage of life? 1. Idea or stuff might be fab may not be the season of life. Life with littles needed less stuff less activity with focus on priorities. 2. We don’t need to be our moms if they made all our clothes and bedding and all food from scratch. Give yourself some grace. 3. You don’t need to keep all the things permission to take a pic and let it go. 4. Wanna see progress? Archive pics of your spaces on bad days ya know what days I mean. Pull them out as needed. 5. Pull the plug on lessons activity or ideas include it’s stuff that is just not working. We expose our kids and selves to stuff some sticks some not do much. 6. A way easier stage of life is coming as far as burden of responsibility we blinked and our kids were grown. ❤️🇨🇦

That is a very interesting question. I think I would recommend the same thing to anyone, wheel chair or not. Do what you are able and seek help when you need it. ☺️💕
My advice as a fellow wheel chair user is to set things up to function for you. I love the tips & tricks given by the declutterers & organizers, but I don't try to copy exactly what they do. I use their idea and fit it to my circumstances. I've also learned to let go of some of my perfectionism and go for function over fancy! I've moved items I use less often to upper cupboards harder to reach so I can more easily access what I use most often. The more I get rid of, the easier it is to keep up with daily chores. I also hired an energetic, teenage, family friend to help once a week with the things I can't reach or have the strength to do. She works cheap! We enjoy each other's company, and her enthusiasm helps motivate me to keep going. I highly recommend the buddy system! Also, take things at a reasonable pace, and try not to get discouraged if things don't move along as quickly as you'd like...they won't! Consider any bits of progress a win, and stay focused on your end goal...I know you'll get there! I also give myself permission to take a break when I need to! Everyone has different abilities...being a wheelchair user just means we need to be creative and come up with solutions that work best for us. Adapt others ideas to your situation.
