Eachine E160 RTF Flybarless Brushless 6G 3D RC Helicopter Flight Test Review

  • This RC helicopter is not for beginners. It is intended as an entry level hobby grade helicopter for pilots wishing to advance from toy grade brushed motor helicopters. It's fully capable of 3D acrobatics. But I recommend that new helicopter pilots forgo the urge to hit that 3D switch until you put some simulator time in, and are fully comfortable with flying it. The E160 may be purchased here www.banggood.c...
The RC simulator dongle and cables that I used with this controller may be purchased here. RC simulator software is also included, although some have had issues with installation of the software. If you have problems installing, you may be able to download other simulator software for use with this dongle. The dongle and cables are the most important items, and this price ain't bad for them bit.ly/RC_Simul...
    Pros
    - Hobby grade helicopter that would be the next step above the Eachine E119. Fully capable of 3D acrobatic flight, including inverted hover.
    - 156 grams with battery. Does not require registration in most countries.
    - Ready to fly with included Futaba compatible (S-FHSS) transmitter and installed receiver. Can also install optional Spektrum (DSM2/X), PPM and SBUS receivers for use with other transmitters if desired.
    - Nylon/carbon fiber damage resistant rotor blades.
    - All metal rotor hub with metal pitch horns, plastic (but thick) pitch control links, metal swashplate, metal control rods. Swashplate is fully functional with true cyclic and collective control.
    - Three high precision servos for controlling the swashplate.
    - Brushless 1308 Hulk main motor.
    - Carbon fiber, damage resistant tail boom.
    - Brushless 1104 tail rotor motor.
    - Three included 7.4V 700mah batteries, each capable of producing close to 8 minutes of flight.
    - Six channel (I counted eight) transmitter controller with 1) Throttle (collective), 2) Pitch, 3) Roll, 4) Yaw. Switches include 5) Idle, 6) 3D/6G, 7) Low/High Rates, and 8) Throttle Hold.
    Cons
    - Although 6G stabilization is included to ease flying, this powerful brushless helicopter is not intended for beginner fliers. Its high speed rotor blades can cause damage to whatever they impact. I would also not recommend this for indoor flying for the same reason.
    - Metal main motor pinion gear engaging plastic main gear. I can see it easily stripping the plastic gear in a crash. Fortunately a spare main gear is included.

    Thank you SO MUCH!
I’m new to helicopters and didn’t really understand the manual.
    Your instructions are EXCELLENT!
All the other videos no one really explained the switches.

Knowledge of the switches are extremely important for the safe operation of this helicopter. I'm kind of shocked that they didn't.

Is it just me, or are helis making bit of a comeback? The first RC flying dealie I ever flew was a stocking-stuffer heli at xmas 2012. Then all of a sudden, it was all about quads. Full circle!

    • @serverlan763
      @serverlan763 2 роки тому

I dont think they are making a comeback, however the models are getting much easier to learn on since the smaller flybarless models are way more robust then say a collective pitch heli from 7-8 years ago. Back then a learner heli like a Blade 450 would not even take a minor stack without a lot of parts breaking.

I smashed my last 160 so im using it as parts donor , I've just ordered another 160 , they don't tell you when purchasing whether its mode1 0r mode 2 that way I asked.
Hope you are still flying Helis .

Eachine is just a re-brand name. They don't have any factories. Since that transmitter looks very much like the Tx from JJRC M02 multi-mode, I'd wager that this comes out of the factories of the JJRC/XK/WLToys conglomerate. 😁

Hey 101, how ya been? It's been a long time. See you moved from the desert, where are you now?
I bought a sim from Banggood a few years ago and couldn't get it to work so I contacted the company that made it and was told it was a bootleg copy so the registration number wouldn't work and they wouldn't help me. Just sayin.....

I just had problems with mines over 300 dollars in and under 5 mins of flight.
First flight started to lose height like if battery is dying landed kinda hard and changed battery and blades did not spin guess what the motor spur gear was missing looked for it for 3 hours in grass and found it installed it again and flew it and while taking off it just fell out and noticed no lights no servos the bec on the esc died so I ordered a new esc and new motor changed it literally first 30 secs and then the bec dies again I gave up on it so I got a board from a different heli for the 5v and it flew very nice for 2 minutes until it started to vibrate itself I landed and noticed the feathering shaft screw was coming off I cant fly my trex 470lm in my backyard or front yard I have to drive to the park also got a 450 and getting a trex700 this Monday on the mail this is absolutely the worst heli I ever owned

Hi! Flicking from 6g to 3d in flight is doable.
However while in flight, it does not seem to be possible to switch to 6g while in 3d. I need to land, then switch to 6g.
    Am I missing something?
