Thank you, Rita. I so need these tears right now. Your voice gave me permission to let something go. I am a songwriter and, at 62, I still have a lot to express. Gotta take that leap. Gotta jump in. Thank you!
Leap, jump in dear Liz! It is never too late as Rita said. I'm in my late 40's and done quite a bit of things in my life. Though I am in a profession that I thought was once my life's calling, I feel like I am at a place where I have been asking myself, "is this what I want to do the rest of my life?" I am not sure yet what it is that "I really want," but will keep on searching for it. None of us are promised tomorrow, but what a gift a joy to find that thing that you have been created to do in life! I hope and pray that I would find it, too while I am alive. Remain blessed and wish you the best in your leaping and jumping.
Rita, thank you!! Your song is so so beautiful!!! It’s exactly what I have always wanted too. I just sent it to my son. I just turned 70 and so far have been pretty healthy, but when I go, I want you to know that you will be singing for us when my son “Throw(s) Me A Party”! I think you & Tom are both so awesome! He has always been my favorite actor, and what you have done has made me proud to be a woman! Much ❤ to you both!!
Wow. I had no idea and I am so very impressed with this talk and her talent. I turned 53 this past Jan and studied acting in L.A. went to school with the likes of Paul Rudd etc...I've known Rita by reputation, she is just a lovely woman. I moved back to Vancouver for a family tragedy in my mid twenties just as I was getting to know some pretty great Agents and on my way - yep stopped and went back home and never left. I did do some cool things in my time, I too am a song-writer and fronted my own band for years, but basically gave up on my "what do I want" questions long ago. At 36 I had a baby, she changed my life and I just couldn't do the "bar" scene and band life anymore. A wife, a mom and not altogether always happy; ran a home-daycare (not glamorous I tell ya, but fun and HARD too) to be with my girl and then admin jobs with primarily horrible bosses. Why? Why oh why is that? Ugh. Anyway, 20 yrs down the road, still healthy *knock on wood* one day at a time, COVID19 is here and I write this in Vancouver during the State of Emergency and cases rising each day - oh my, anxiety attacks? I'm a trained actor, I don't get anxiety? So, I wanted to know if my beloved favourite actor, Tom Hanks and his wife were doing alright...found myself here. 20 yrs on, sometimes downright sad and just sorta living. I have love, but I have very little "joy" I realized, but tonight, I'm asking myself...WHAT DO I WANT now and be patient and await the answer. I feel as if I may know ;) but I'm gonna go easy with myself and take some baby steps to hopefully find out. I get this little pang in my heart lately as I've been watching Alan Arkin and Michael Douglas in the great Netflix show, The Kominsky Method. A drop in theatre class perhaps? Yes, perhaps. THANKS RITA...YOU GOT THIS and beautiful song (it is on the list for my Celebration of Life one day). I hope folks don't mind me sharing here...weird times and I need to communicate. Bless you one and all. xo
Thank you for this song! Celebrate life! Dance and sing. One of my favorite things is listening to my mother play piano, which she still does, she is 94 years old. I sing, but mostly listen. Joy!
I am so sorry for your loss. We just lost my Dad three weeks ago(July 10-30 days shy of his 89th birthday). Lmy thoughts and prayers are with you. 😇🙏❤ From Canada 🇨🇦
Rita Wilson multi-talented, beautiful and wise... Wow! I am in awe listening to her sing. I'll be praying for her recovery and for her family overall health.
Rita ,thank you for the beautiful song .I will be requesting this ,When my time comes.I’m healthy but we never know about tomorrow .Blessings to you and your family. Loved your Ted Talk.🥰
Thank you dear Rita for sharing your story. It would have been easy for you to fall back and perhaps think your story might sound too privileged to be relatable, but we all need courage at every level. I loved hearing about your parents and about you learning how to get clear and overcoming your fears - breaking into one of your true passions. I will be the same. Thank you and continued joyful blessings to you. Aloha, Stephanie
Thank you so, Rita.. for your wonderful speech (it gives us hope and belief it is never too late to realize what you really want! and being able to go for it! ) and this beautiful song, so beautifully sang and the lyrics are amazing... just like after having left this life on this Earth, will be, a true celebration! Thank you for being you in your very own colors..and sharing with the world..... Love, Beatrix
What a joyful song to part this earthly life! Your Ted Talk and your song are both so beautiful and inspiring to me! I want to be bold and courageous in following my dreams!
What a beautifully written and sang song, Rita Wilson!!! God bless you and yours and the rest of your days. Wishing you continued healing and health. I recall seeing you and Tom on the news having had contracted COVID-19 and recovered. So, I am thinking you are continuing to do well... Well, I guess I've found one song I could add onto the list of songs to be sung for my "going away party!" Since I have expressed a desire to be cremated as well and my ashes scattered in the ocean with military honors (I am a US Navy Veteran :), your song resonated well with me as well. And thank you for your beautiful speech! What a wonderful family journey story and yours, too!!! It gives me hope that it is never too late to find that one thing I was created to do in my life... While I've done a lot of things in my life which I am grateful for as a 1st generation immigrant myself, I feel like I am at that junction of my life where I've been asking "Lord, is this what I am supposed to do for the rest of my life?" As a former active duty military person, I am so used to moving every couple or 3 years. I am now working in a Federal Govt job, keeping in the same profession but in a different capacity from what I did while in the Military. Yet, I feel like I am waiting for my "new orders" for a change of station after 3 years in my current job... I don't know what it is really "I want to do," but I am going to keep looking for it. I hope and pray that I will find it while I'm alive even if it would be for the shorter span of my life being in my late 40's and all. God is good all the time through it all, no matter what might be going on in our lives. I hope I will be able to say, "I found it," just like you hopefully soon. Thank you again for such inspiration 😘🤗🙏❤
Thank you for the beautiful song. Only someone who had cancer can know how precious life really is and can celebrate their death while they are alive! I want to be invited to your party!
how come seldom see Tom Hanks seldom showed up as audience in her concerts, there are times remembering who’s wife she is,suspect that I have early stage of dementia 😥Oh I forgot Tom is busy hunting shrimps as thou he owns Red Lobster restaurants which is in need of shrimp, bottomless all you can eat 🦞🦞🦞
It is only a humans view or opinion, No good high notes, flat in many spots and cracks in vocals because the vocals are not there, and weak in many spots. 1/2 of each song sung is kind of ok, not too bad. I am not trying to be mean, or opinionated, or even cruel. , not cruelty or fact, by any means, only what I hear. ..... God bless her, at least she is doin it and enjoying the career. Good on ya from the outback mate!!!

Very timely - Covid 19 : (

well done. however i hate the concept. celebrate people while they're alive to enjoy it!
That's not her voice.
You'd think a talent like Tom would let his wife know she can't sing... smh
I like her, she is a great actress, she hits the notes, but there is no magic in her voice. sorry.

(psst - just fy - it's classy to keep negative opinions to one's self)
