My retired cousin back in Australia was considered a great achiever. He'd become an aircraft carrier pilot with the Royal Australian Navy. On my family trip back to Australia in 2003 he told me he did bombing exercises over Kaho`olawe as a young pilot. My daughter and I were shocked. She grew up on Kaua`i and told him she had volunteered on an eco-youth program to help clean-up Kaho`olawe. Rifts and soul-searching surrounding Kaho`olawe have nerves and flash points far across the Pacific.

George Helm is one of my heros and seeing this video confirms everything I've read about him. WOW! I was not expecting such a powerful rich singer.
Like Queen Lili'oukalani, he is exceptionally talented in many ways - and wise. He is grounded in Hawai`i nei at the same time he transcends individual cultures. I see a humble spiritual leader apart from a steadfast activist.

I lived in Hawaii then. I remember going door to door getting signatures on a petition to "Stop the Bombing On Kaho'olawe"

Oh my how we all miss 'Jerry Boy",braddah George, his PKO dedication, his nights sets at the Gold Coin in Honolulu. Gone, never Forgotten. Mahalo nui loa for sharing this gem from the late 1970a. He was instrumental in giving birth to "the Hawaiian Renaissance".

Just read about this man's disappearance. Heartbreaking, so cryptic. Hoping for a resolution. God bless.
