@freddyalva_nyc (Yours 174, SPORTS Crew) is the guy behind @urbanstyles_book where her specializes in the crossover betweeen graffiti and various punk subcultures. Tonight he releases a new blackbook-zine, themed around the 1989 NYHC New Breed cassette tape compilation, a DIY comp he put together with Chaka Malik ( @ghost_decibels ) when they were young guns from Queens. We talked about a wide variety of topics, but mostly about DIY cultures that don't just invite you, but almost demand a level of participation. This is not a spectator sport.
