  • Do not confuse East Twin Lake with Twin Lake Campground. We had a bike camper roll up just before sunset with reservations to the wrong campground. He didn't take up much space so we let him move in for the night.
The was one of the best campgrounds I have found with most sites right on the water.
Great hop off point to head into the forest, or head north to waterfall country.
Just up a few forest roads is the hike to St Peters Dome and Morgan falls.
    Book now at recreation.gov.
    Bonus free campsite

East Twin has been on my radar a looonngg time, Thanks for the peek in. Wow some nice camera work, esp with the water and the flowers...(sigh). I caught from your video a taste of the absolute quiet I experienced on my first trip to the Cheq-Nic NF 3 years ago. An almost mystical experience that quiet.. Nice to see a few openings for camping, tho this was actually from June.. Any idea how busy these forest campgrounds are right now?-ie:August 2021.. You know we all want to know-lol. Lovely to see your family and your set-up, and this particular campground. And way big thx for the bonus!!! :-)

You just need to check on www.recreation.gov/ to se what's available. They have an app too. But most reservable sites are available 6 months un advance.
Non reservable can usually be found dirring midweek easily. People who need hookups don't spend much time at these sites.
And if one campground is full, ask the camp host what other ones may have room.

Are you sure your able to camp the site next to the boat launch? I stayed at this campground before and stumbled upon that area by the boat ramp that i assumed was just a recreation/ picnic area i never did see anything saying that you could infact camp in that area. I know you spoke with the host about the grounds did he tell you it was a dispersed campsite free of charge to first come first serve??

Greetings, Sconny! Thank you for these helpful videos! Going on our first trip to WI later this summer. Are there loons on this lake? It's been a dream of mine to camp next to a lake and be awakened every morning by loons.

We heard the loons but bairly saw them . They were competing with the elk that we never saw.

Wow! Sounds like I need to visit there soon! I wound up choosing Buckhorn SP based on your video featuring a waterfront site. We have only three days, and it's a long drive from our state. Thank you again for all this helpful info!

Site 4 is owned by a privet owner just off to the right of the lake campground.

why are the loud families attracted to the quiet camps?
why can't one be in the back seat of your car without someones dog at the back of your car an then around and under by you really people?

WISCOUNSIN SCKS ! Camprgounds way to expensive. Reservations are absolutely insane idea, invented by some pure idiots. No hiking permints anymore. Entire state is filled out with "DO NOT,,,," signs. Fishing licenses to expensive and all of this is becoming worse and worse every year. Soon one would have to pay extra for breathing.

Well.... this is a federal campground. Jot run by the state but the federal government. And i just stopped and camped for a night at $15 with no reservation. And down the street at Day Lake, they have two loops closed in the campground because of lack of use at $18 a night.
      So....
