Aside from the horrible wigs, this video has good content. Thanks for a good video I can post in my course's announcement page as a way to keep engaging with my students.

I have 1/16 or so Conestoga in me my family who were Indian probably retreated into the Alleghenies after said massacre. I wish this didn’t happen because there isn’t a single Conestoga left and researching them they really held their own in their territories for hundreds of years. What a shameful genocide

Colorado Haze been reading a lot about this massacre. I came across it doing genealogical research. A brother to my ancester eas living in paxtang. I have also been researching the history of scotland and the scots-irish. There is lot's to proud of (remember Mel Gibson in Braveheart fighting for freedom?). But this massacre certainly is shameful. I was shocked to come across it. Yes, interesting history. If only we could all live in peace. Nice to meet you, Elder descendant.

I married Susan Elder, a descendant of James Elder, who was a brother of the Rev. John Elder. That branch of the Elder clan moved to the piedmont section of NC before the Revolution, where many still reside. The NC Elders are a close-knit bunch and enjoy getting together often. If you want to have a deeper understanding of the Scots-Irish culture, then I recommend Albion's Seed by David H. Fischer. The book is 900 pages, but the section on the Scots-Irish is 1/4th of the book. It explains a lot about their mindset, even down to today.

Rev. John Elder is my 9th Great Grandfather from my mom's side of the family. He was the first American Gangster... Proud to have been his 9th Great Grandson. Paxton Boyz for Life!

I mean the Paxton Boys kind of brutally massacred people, so I'm not sure if the 'Paxton Boyz for Life!" is necessary

I played little league baseball with a Zac Elder. Field right by Paxton Presbyterian church. His dad was John Elder the whatever it was at that point. Lived right there on Elder road.
