Great maps, great videos. Just finished making my first one, spent a lot of time complaining to my wife about the features that aren't included in the editor, i.e.: More than 2 floors, underground editing, copy and paste large areas, more jobs, more than 2 themes, no skybridges (2nd floor w/o indoor spaces underneath), certain objects that should be able to be rotated but can't be, guard patrols, custom escapes, multiplayer doors and escapes, customizable inventory, payphones + secret recipes, etc... Time for all of us to email the devs with this list of requests, so that they know the demand is there. Even if it's a premium add-on.
My tip: Stay away from the pre-made rooms, UNLESS it has a "hidden-tile" you wanna use. If so, place the room, copy the hidden tile and then remove the room. Place the hidden tile in one of the corners and you are set to go.
@@dallinjames3718 a hidden tile is an oject not listed in the editors list of items, but only found in custom rooms. You can copy this item and use it outside of those rooms if you want to tho. Examples are a jeep and a stop! floor decoration similar to lines.
@@dallinjames3718 Nope, this is just something a friend of mine figured out like 1 and a half year ago. Tbf, they're not the most useful tiles, their more for the "wow" factor. But the ones I can think of at the top of my head is: - There's a jeep in one of the vehicle escape rooms, this is probably the most useful tile. - There's ends of strips for south, east and west in multiple of the cafeteria rooms. I like to use these as decorations cus they really round off prisons. - There's a stop! graphic in either the metalshop or woodshop rooms, it's pretty useful but I'm pretty sure it only faces one direction. - There's the old trash floor decor in (I think) the jetski escape room. When I say old, I mean from when the editor first came out. It looks like one of the ones we have now, just fucking massive.
Probably will get me in trouble, but i’m planning a Stalag 13 inspired prison. Haven’t seen all the tiles I can work with, but I got some ideas for escape methods. - The Great Escape: Clearing the collapsed emergency escape tunnel and book it down the road without being detected (will have road patrols). - In the Dog House: (If I can pull it off) Raise opinions of all guard dogs, access the tunnel in their kennel, and deliver bribe to driver of the truck that “brings in the dogs” to escape in the back. - Waltzing out the front door: A classic steal guard uniform and keys before leaving the front gate.
When I'm typing this, I'm currently working on a prison which is a secret lab in a canyon with the only outdoor area being the middle of said canyon but unless you have a cyan key, you can't get out and you can explore both sides and I'm currently taking some ideas from Area 17, USS Anomaly, and wicked ward

If you can go into more detail in, well, detail, that would be nice because that's where I struggle the most. I'm doing pretty well with theming and zoning. For theming... If only they had more tilesets. I have so many good ideas sitting in the back of my head.
I have created 18 prisons, with the Steam name of Chill. I've created mostly some picks where you have to dig out, or red/cyan key. They're mostly 3 day escapes. Some notable ones I did are called Cheezbone 'sland , then a prison which was one of my first prisons called Wild Wasteland, and also Riverpark Study Center. They don't have many aesthetics neither did I use any good strats to create them. Want to try them? Search them and download and reply what you think of each.
Quick question: is it possible to open solitary doors (if you are not in solitary)? I often see prisons that uses them and I always wonder if they are just doors that you can't get trough or is there a way to do that
Very interesting ! There isn't many guides and I can't find answers to my questions. Can we edit npc behavior ? Set patrols ? Have stationnary guards ? Why some charracters teleport ? Why double green doors open sometimes even without the key ?
Alot of questions and ill try to answer them the best I can: Currently, there are no edits availible to npc or guard behavior. Teleporting, sounds like a bug. not sure on the double green doors, should only open with a key.

There is not one. You can copy individual squares or objects, but not zones or large areas. Biggest oversight of the editor, IMO.
