    no not everyone wears them, and not everyday either. it's just for those guys that want (or feel like they need) to use it :)

    not entirely invisible though! if youre wearing tight pants or shorts, the shape of your calf will change in the same way women's do when they wear high heels. if you know what to look for you can always tell

    Good video, it seems they are really popular in Korea. Apparently Hollywood stars have worn either "shoe lifts" or "heel lifts" for quite some time. Allegedly John Wayne wore them to ensure he was the same height as taller actors (despite being over 6 foot already).

    well, you maybe can buy them online like the one on this video, but i made one myself, just use softwoods and shape them to lift your high, fits in your shoes and be as comfy as possible and you can put a piece of sock on top of it just so it be more comfy. but if u just starting to wear these, please go slow... cause it's not easy to walk in them without looking "heel-ed"

    It wasn't rly a big deal for me when I heard about it 1st time (since I am pretty short for European) but when I saw how huge 깔창 Kwang Hee wore in We Got Married I just couldn't believe it and laugh about it for couple of minutes. But as for me it's pretty normal. Eveyone wants to look better. We girls wear make-up guys wants to look taller so they wear 깔창.

    Yes in most restaurants in Korea you have to take your shoes off, it's the same in people's houses. Because the streets are really dirty so you don't want to be bringing that dirt into someone's home or where you're eating.

    You're supposed to use these with high tops so your heels don't constantly pop out of your shoes. They also give the same added benefit that they do to women if you wear skinny jeans: lifting your butt. Not a good idea to wear them with shorts. Also, women use these as well.

    what you mean by Suju!! they are quite tall...

  • @ChanRawrer
    @ChanRawrer 12 років тому

    i've done this for about 2 or 3 years, but only with my boots, or at least with something that covers my ankle, it's hard to walk in them, not talking about the comfyness, but having to walk in a bit different way so it doesnt look "heeled", but for sure you'll get used to them and walk flawlessly. now i can add about 2 inch + 1(boots heel) = 3 inch taller, some times i added 3 inch, but that shit hurts =.=

    I'm pretty sure most of the k pop idols use this since height matters in Korea :3 (not stereotyping at all) If you are teenager or physically active, I don't recommend this as it might hurt your back or ankle and affect your growth plus if you use it once its like a addiction, you have to keep using it since every1 thinks the height is your actual height. 열폭하는 한국인분들 이해가ㅋㅋ...괜히찔려서 그런가? 사실 많은사람들이 깔창끼고 다른 키작은 외국인들도 쓰라고 정보주는걸 뭐그리화낼거까지야;;

      South Korea is a very image conscious society. Also, they're trying really hard to create an image of South Korea and Koreans to the rest of the world, but of course, those are just superficial goals. They're trying to get out of Japan's shadow. Everyone knows and loves Japan. South Korea has not really contributed much to the world. For example, how many Nobel Prize winners do they have? Just one and it was a former president...that doesn't even count. C'mon! Even Obama got one! If South Korea focused on contributing to the world instead of being pretentious, then they'll be known for that. Right now South Korea is just known for Kimchi and Kpop.

    • @MrRiingo
      @MrRiingo 10 років тому

      Randy B Contributed nothing? They have produced one of the biggest electronic brands known, Samsung. That's quite big haha.

    • @rbx211
      @rbx211 10 років тому

      RY3ERECHILLIN I don't believe I've said that they contributed nothing. How's that similar to Nobel Prize winners who have contributed to mankind?! BMW makes cars, Sony makes Electronics, etc, etc... Samsung is a big company and not just electronics. Trust me, I've lived in South Korea. A lot of South Korean products are just knock-offs though...from electronics to automobiles.
