Daniel Fisher is THE MAN to give this demo! Sweetwater, give this man a raise. He is already responsible for my bank account getting leaning and Sweetwater’s account getting fatter! I have wanted an Oberheim since the 1980’s. I think I will finally begetting one! Daniel, would you please do an all-instrumental album? Someone needs to join Kebu and pick up the mantle from Vangelis!
I Agree. I think the UBXa sounds laid-back and lacks overtones compared to TEO5 and in my opinion the UBXa doesn't have the right oberheim filter. the TEO5 does.
Polybrute 12 yesterday and Teo 5 today. Wow. Great summer ahead. The Oberheim sound + DSI / Sequential style engine means a lot of sonic flexibility. Thanks!
Since a few years we live in a golden age of synths and electronic music instruments. You have all those classic synths as modern take and many innovative new synths like Polybrute, Astrolab or the Elektron devices. I can't keep up :D - Just wish the Two 5 would have poly aftertouch. Based on interviews with ASM adding that functionally isn't that much more expensive and they were wondering why not more manufactures included it. Most likely as you can't find that many keybeds included with it as part.
Just bumped into this synth and watched 4 other demos, this one completely floored me. Sooooo obvious this gentleman knows what to touch and adjust in live time. Fantastic sounds and almost forgot it was about the machine. I am sold. How much for his ideas? Just kiddin. Thanks for a superb performance on a powerful synth!
Fantastic. Such a broad range of sounds, pads, basses. Massive as well as subtle. It reminds me a lot of the Matrix 6, which i used extensively in my music: steam engines, caves with water dropping, helicopters, strings and more. But this one truly goes beyond that. With this synth on stage, a keyboardist cannot fail but only enjoy his instrument. Thank you Daniël, many thanks to TEO also of course.
Exact same thing to me. I was so happy for the Polybrute 12, but then I listened to this…and yes even if it’s only 5 voices, I still prefer the sound 🤷🏼♂️
Your ears, and many others, are hearing correctly. Regardless how expressive PB is the voice architecture choices mean it cannot keep up on "bread-n-butter" analog patches.
Trust Daniel Fischer to give you the most practical demonstration of what a synthesizer or a keyboard can do for you just by playing it himself. Much obliged, Daniel.
Very curious what the difference is. Of course, I realize price is a BIG difference but if you can expand on that. I DEF am considering this when I almost pulled the trigger on Sequential Take 5.
This is SERIOUSLY fabulous demo! 👏🏻👏🏻 I’ve been thinking back and forth what analogue synth to buy… Arturia brutes, Sequental pro3, Behringer UB-xa, etc. Judging from what we have here is the real thing analogue, great looks, great sound, very musical, has the presence.. fantastic instrument!
Oh Yea! It’s a great day:)! Mr. Daniel Fisher flexing his wonderful electronic musical skills…based on what I hear to be another great DSI synthesizer! Yes…it’s a great day! Thank you, Sir!
Was about to bitch about this just being another version of the take 5, and how come we can't get something like a matrix 12. Until I saw the price, and heard this thing. I'll definitely be buying one.
@@Philandthesynths - I wouldn't count on that, the Take 5 is the 'Prophet' version of this from Sequential and it's been around for 2yrs and no talk of a desktop version on the horizon.
Sounds awesome. Can't wait what the TIT-5 or TRIP-5 or whatever they'll call the Trigon 6 derivative will be like :) Another 2 years of waiting is my guess :) This is an awesome little synth though!
Can't wait to own this someday! I almost got the Take 5 during the sale earlier but this seems even more perfect for my set up which is wild to say. The aesthetic and the modulation factor tops it for me. so hyped. Gonna try and sell some gear I don't use too often for it. Anyone want a microcosm? Or 5 string solid body U Bass? Love em but love this more
You make a good point Daniel Fisher; why has no synthesizer company created a feature setting to allow for a scanner button that pans through the octaves on the keyboard to make it possible to have an arpeggiation with additional octave scanning function. That's what I'm going to call it, "octave scanning." New keyboard designers need this feature.
With powerful, flexible poly synths at this price and sound quality, I think it's getting harder to justify the classic mono synth in the plus $1500 price range. If I were starting out, I'd definitely get something like this first before getting a similarly priced instrument like a Subsequent 37, as good as that instrument is.
@@daboosreviews8819 would you say the OB-X8 sounds more vintage and this sounds more modern? (of course Teo5 still can sound vintage and amazing it seems but I am talking about general trends).
@@sweetwaterMe too. Jarre was the reason I got into synths ❤ BTW, every time I see a sweetwater video featuring Daniel Fisher, everything else instantly becomes insignificant, and I have to watch. Really enjoy your presentations that much. Wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you.
@@Lachenmann7 it has more modulation options, so you can create more complex sounds, almost like a poly modular. This has fx(i think obx8 doesn't) and a new approach to fx cross modulation goys Calle di think zero cross fm. It is important cause the osc remains in tune. The Run Like Hell solo at 1:30 is whats up
what a sound! like the sibling Take-5, it is maybe small in stature but certainly not in sound and sonic possibilities! love it :)
And there was me saying to myself that I don't want any more synths. How silly of me. I want this. It's on my end of year shopping list lol
They really seem to have knocked it out of the park with its sound.
This sound demo is an album in itself 😍
A heap of music genres can be boosted out of this little beast 🤖
Always bringing the fire to your demos.... Nice flashback sounds at the beginning...
That delayed reverb at 15:52 is surprisingly good. I got spatially disoriented there for a few secs
Great demo! The sound is so nice, plus the ability to split octaves on a short keyboard really expands what's possible. A definite purchase!
