It is called High pressure tactics. Mainly used in sales but they use it to scam people. Also, they do this to make them lie to the banker when transferring money or purchasing gift cards. Making the victim guilty is their objective.

Sexual violence is a major problem faced by women and girls in India, it's absolutely heart breaking when you look at the statistics and read some of the victims' stories. The fact that these guys are able to casually joke about it and it's such a common insult among them really goes to show just how bad the situation truly is out there. It's like boys are taught from a very young age that they don't need to respect women and they grow up believing that this type of behavior is okay. It's so sad.
Thanks I work in aged care and so many times have to track down info given to scammers, trying to block transactions by people who bully and abuse and confuse the elderly. Trying to educate the elderly does not work because they get confused and forget, the only way is to stop the scammers! Thank you so much❤
Hey fortunate story! I work in a nursing home and while doing some online coursework, I overheard two residents talking about a Norton scam! The scammer claimed the resident was to receive a 600$ refund and was trying to get them to download anydesk. Without you, I would’ve heard nothing but gibberish, but thanks to your content and awareness, I was luckily able understand, intercede, inform the resident, and stop the scam. I showed them a short video of yours and they thoroughly enjoyed it, feeling heard and understood after a very confusing situation/attempted scam. Thank you pierogi! Couldn’t have done it without your knowledge 👏
@@lr5497 yeah I told a few! We also have a diagram set up in one common-area that says “don’t get scammed!” And goes over the most basic clues that you’re getting scammed. I think it’s pretty outdated though. It doesn’t include anydesk info, gift card scams, refund scams, etc. so I definitely want to talk to my supervisor about that and get it updated. Elderly and or people with comprehensive struggles are such easy and unfortunate targets :( Really makes me mad.

I caught a friend, i'd just met at the time, who was in the early steps of a romance scam, and luckily im a veteran, so when they mentioned some 'army guy in cali' asking for money to do something that didnt make sense, (this was actually how i met the friend..) while i was working, (at a gas station) I asked her to repeat the summary, and I told her it was BS, then after work explained what was happening in detail, and explained the catfishing bs.. meanwhile this was waaaay before I'd even seen any of these videos... and it wasn't the first time i'd called bs on scams for people openly in public... (ears of a hound apparently lol) now that i've seen these videos, i'm much more informed and able to show them to the people being scammed... and have actually stopped some gift cards being bought, by knowing the key words the scammers try and use. So i'd asked a couple prying questions and they were really defensive, meanwhile they were on the phone with the scammer, so i asked them to mute the phone, closed my register, and stepped to the side, and explained the situation... So i get you on this @dontthey..

The Indian system, both public and private, is an embarrassment as it is corrupt from A to Z and that corruption runs from the ground level all the to the top, including the most senior person. It is culture, and it will take a miracle to sort.
I seen the other day that there is 42 million scammers in India....why can't you guys stand up and start some type of movement....its ridiculous and unfortunately there are now millions that don't even want to hear your story about you being a good person because they just hate all of you guys. Then say oh, transfer this money but do not talk to anyone at your bank about it. And if you do, the FBI is going to come for you?

This issue needs to be highlighted to the Indian govt by the US authorities until that thing happens police won't take this issue seriously. I know truly how frustrating it is. I heard of an Indian man and his family who lived in a neighborhood. He was legit a business man but because of a scammer some angry people came to his house and beat him almost to death. It was very sad. The people were of course punished for beating him but it was horrible. All. Cause of a scammer in India.

It's because the government here does not track the internet activity & VoIP being used are US based service which can really help in tracking/ blocking such reported incidents.
In addition to that - you'd think that the big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Paypal etc - whose reputations are being sullied by such scams, might attempt to do something about it & encourage their local authorities etc to try to take action.
It is not just in India. These scammers / corrupted people exist in all nations and walks of life including the United States and they come in many forms. It is unfortunate. But the good news is that most the people of India (and other nations) are hard working honest people. It’s a wonderful nation with beautiful people, and the world is better because of that truth.

Thank you for doing this. I live in a senior living building and several seniors with medical conditions have been scammed this way which gets them so upset it takes a huge toll on their health. They spend days worrying about how much money they lost and how the FBI/IRS is coming after them, how much trouble they are in, etc. they can't eat or sleep for literally days. I finally put on a seminar on how not to get scammed. Even though I harp on "Don't ever call a phone number from an email", among other things, these scammers are so smooth, they can still con seniors. So I enjoy it when the shoe is on the other foot.
They think that by cursing at you, they're scaring the victim. An old person...who is scared...and thinks he or she must be in the wrong if someone is yelling...is the perfect victim for these people.

They forward the information to the authorities and sometimes they face consequences, they get raided and either get arrested or they get let out on bail but have to start from step 1
These scammers are villagers whose parents thought of moving to big cities and realised they couldn't cut it so ended up living in slums. They aren't really from good families nor are they well educated. So no one taught them manners. This coming from an Indian.

You guys are heroes and I thank you with all my heart. I received one of these scammer phone calls from India about three weeks ago. I live in Oregon. They really had me going telling me I won a lottery. They told me a Fox news team would be coming to my residence when they deliver the $1 million check. All I had to do was go to the bank to make a withdrawal to pay them to cover some kind of fee or tax. I suddenly remembered something like this playing out in one of your videos that I watched some time ago. They really almost had me believing the whole story. I recognized the scam and hung up on the guy. Only because I saw your videos previously did I recognize it. Thank you for what you do.
No lotto company is going to need you to pay a fee or tax, and you are not likely to win anything without buying a ticket orf filling out, signing up for and entering a form.

Way back in the 80’s I worked at a bank at a call center. We used terminals. I made the mistake of saying what I saw on my terminal. The lady who had called me said “terminal?! Did you terminate my account?” Etc. Etc. I wanted to throw my phone out the window and quit on the spot. LOL.

I am sooooooo glad to see this....this is exactly what all most happened to me a few years ago. Thank God the light buld went off in my head when they wanted to take a picture of my check. I immediately hung up. The funny thing is they called back the very next day....I hung up😊

I heard of an Indian man and his family who lived in a neighborhood. He was legit a business man but because of a scammer some angry people came to his house and beat him almost to death. It was very sad.
The people were of course punished for beating him but it was horrible. All. Cause of a scammer in India.

It's because the government here does not track the internet activity & VoIP being used are US based service which can really help in tracking/ blocking such reported incidents.
In addition to that - you'd think that the big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Paypal etc - whose reputations are being sullied by such scams, might attempt to do something about it & encourage their local authorities etc to try to take action.

It is not just in India. These scammers / corrupted people exist in all nations and walks of life including the United States and they come in many forms. It is unfortunate. Thank you for doing this. I live in a senior living building and several seniors with medical conditions have been scammed this way which gets them so upset it takes a huge toll on their health. They spend days worrying about how much money they lost and how the FBI/IRS is coming after them, how much trouble they are in, etc. they can't eat or sleep for literally days. I finally put on a seminar on how not to get scammed. Even though I harp on "Don't ever call a phone number from an email", among other things, these scammers are so smooth, they can still con seniors. So I enjoy it when the shoe is on the other foot.
I love that they still think they have a legit chance of scamming you when they start cursing at you. 🤣

I'm just glad someone has the tech and know how to deal with these creeps. Once I was in front line banking and ohhhh how I enjoyed making sure those people never called my clients again with a smile. Pure delight to stop those transactions right there.

They forward the information to the authorities and sometimes they face consequences, they get raided and either get arrested or they get let out on bail but have to start from step 1
These scammers are villagers whose parents thought of moving to big cities and realised they couldn't cut it so ended up living in slums. They aren't really from good families nor are they well educated. So no one taught them manners.

You guys are heroes and I thank you with all my heart. I received one of these scammer phone calls from India about three weeks ago. I live in Oregon. They really had me going telling me I won a lottery. They told me a Fox news team would be coming to my residence when they deliver the $1 million check. All I had to do was go to the bank to make a withdrawal to pay them to cover some kind of fee or tax. I suddenly remembered something like this playing out in one of your videos that I watched some time ago. They really almost had me believing the whole story. I recognized the scam and hung up on the guy. Only because I saw your videos previously did I recognize it. Thank you for what you do.
No lotto company is going to need you to pay a fee or tax, and you are not likely to win anything without buying a ticket orf filling out, signing up for and entering a form.
Please keep doing this dude !!! Someone tried to take advantage of my grandfather years ago while in early stages of dementia and thank god my grandmother hung up the phone before it was too late. They need to be caught !!!!
Reversing a scammer's scam back on him is so satisfying to watch! I can picture in my mind how he is beating on anything within his reach, because he is so angry. When you reveal that you know where he is, and that now you are the one in control of his own scam files, it is so funny hearing him try to assert that he is not who he really is. I was laughing and cheering at the same time.

Way back in the 80’s I worked at a bank at a call center. We used terminals. I made the mistake of saying what I saw on my terminal. The lady who had called me said “terminal?! Did you terminate my account?” Etc. Etc.
I wanted to throw my phone out the window and quit on the spot. LOL.

I am sooooooo glad to see this....this is exactly what all most happened to me a few years ago. Thank God the light buld went off in my head when they wanted to take a picture of my check. I immediately hung up. The funny thing is they called back the very next day....I hung up😊
