I have the XL Blind that is a 7-0 Diameter and at the center is roughly 6-0 tall. I set it up on a 8-0 platform that is 10-0 tall. Thanks for watching and commenting
Dang that is a loud blind. A cloth blind tends to muffle sound but I would wonder if the solid body acts like a resonating chamber. The sound of the latches and even the door seem loud as heck, but that is, in part, due to the conditions where you are filming. How is it in the field? From my own experience in a roto-molded observatory, sound echos inside and it does muffle sound to a listener outside until you get an opening to the outside and then you get a guitar hollow body amplifier. Heavy rain hitting it can be like a snare drum. Not a big deal in an observatory because my telescope won't mind and the Whirlpool Galaxy is not going to run away. lol
If you watch more of my videos you will see that I installed the blind on a 8x8 wood platform with outdoor carpet. I also stuck sound room foam on the walls because I noticed the echo though I think the concrete had something to do with that thanks for commenting and please watch more of the videos.
@@PrysProperty thank the alorithm and its mysterious ways for introducing your channel. This was the first of your videos I have had the opportunity to see and I definitely will check out more.
Good job. I have put together a few of those Maverick XL. It’s a lot of little bolts! The only thing I do differently is I put the seal on the door itself, not the frame. I also upgrade the hinge nuts to nylon lock nuts
I have egg crate foam with two sided tape that I’m going to install today hope that will stop the echo that it seems to have inside. I plan on purchasing maybe two more that I plan on just having on a floor and skids so that I can pull around my property when I need to. Thanks for the ideas on the gasket for the door I’ll try to remember to give that a try on the next ones. Thanks for watching and commenting
Works fine my nine year old Granddaughter has taken a deer from it now also. So it has served its purpose. I missed a nice buck from it all my fault not the blind. lol works for what is built thanks for watching and commenting
How well do you think this could handle snow load? I live in Ohio so we don’t get tons but we can occasionally get a foot or two at a time. Wondering if you think it’ll cave in or not.
We have another Maverick blind on the property been here for a few years and has held up fine. The XL seems to have a steeper roof slope so I’m guessing it will do fine. Thanks for watching and Commenting
What is the size of the blind?
