I used to daydream about being famous but I didn’t suspect that “Going Fully Anderson” would mean something nor that I might be famous because of THAT. Wow!
Well done video sir. I’m 57 and retired from the Army where I served for 26 years as an Infantry Senior NCO. My first Casio was a regular “Arnie” (gold face) I bought at Walmart around 1999 and I wore it when we deployed to Iraq in 2003-04. Right before we returned to Germany I gave my watch to a Kurdish man who was an Officer in the new Iraqi Army we trained a few months after the war ended, he was a great person and not inbred like the rest. I bought another Arnie when I came home and wore it for years on. I came across collecting G Shocks when I found them dirt cheap at pawn shops here in San Antonio and then I discovered the Pro Trek line where again, my first Pro Treks were found in pawn shops or other Nic nack shops for $30 or so. The PRG-600 line is what I wear daily and I have 6 Pro Treks in total and I always hunt for good deals online or in shops. I guess it’s fair to say that I prefer ABC watches that’re a “stand alone” technology since I don’t want something constantly tracking and listening to me, I have a cell phone for all that, lol. I also avoid buying a pro trek on emotion, i walkways wait for the best price but, I know that once the inventory is sold, the prices will be much higher on secondary markets.
Great video Mr. Anderson. I have 171 g shock and 85 casio watches. All different types and I loved them all equally. Your video keep me buying more and that a good thing.
The state of Utah used to use the slogan “The Greatest Snow on Earth” but then they got sued by Ringling Brothers... but the state of Utah is still in business now and Ringling Brothers is not. I didn’t necessarily want to record a video while the snow was falling but I had just finished setting things up and, well, I decided to proceed. Fortunately, I didn’t have a giant flake land on the lens in the middle of this.
12:30 I have the GW-2310FB-1B4JR , the digital only watch. I always wore Casio watches since I was a kid , my grandmother bought me my first. I've been collecting since 2012 and now have 9 twenty four watch cases filled plus another 15 to 20 in my top dresser drawer. I have multiple Rangemans , Risemans , Frogmans , Mudmans in various colors , plus many , many more , some doubles and triples of the same watch. I also collect Vintage Casio watches and Vintage G-Shocks as well. Love your channel , keep up the great watch videos.
That orange 2020 fire-package looks great. I can see why someone would be powerless to resist. The first thing I do when I find something I really like is buy more of them. It makes perfect sense to me. A great video!
Thanks Greg, I think I've learned alot from your channel for similar reasons and taste or views on these watches, I'm glad you took the time and effort to create such informative videos.
I think the point that you want to get across about duplicates has been addressed by other people as "in defense of the personal uniform". That's something I find quite cool, tbh. I always buy at least 3 or 4 jeans if I find a "model" that I like so I don't have to worry about one of them not being available at any given time.
Thank you very much. My favorite Casio watch it the Liniage multiband analogue with a titanium bracelet. It is always there to set other watches to the correct time an is great to wear too.
Atomic time has been very valuable to me in my various jobs in broadcasting. Also, when I used to run movie projectors the shows always started right on time. But I don’t think I technically have OCD.
Why? Because we are collectors, we have OCD :) We have worked hard and makes us happy :) Cheap happiness and the best type of addiction.; no need to talk about negatives. Congratulations, Greg!
I couldn’t stop laughing (in a good way) throughout this video. You and I are so similar in the way we buy things, it’s scary. But also, I justify multiple purchases with the Redundancy Principle: two is one, one is none. Have to have a backup in case the first whatever it is fails.
@4:00~ EYE have ONE Camry & while EYE don't collect them some like car collecting. Jerry has or had many Porsche autos for example. He had ONE hundred at ONE TIME in a parking garage just for him in NYC. Jay Leno likes to do some car collecting and EYE sea no RE A SUN why some people are CON FUSED about having a Casio or other watch collection. EYE just picked up a ProTrak 5571 and love it! Bought this watch much to your educational introduction to this line of fine products where EYE too am fed up with DST adjustments and accuracy issues and with the other complications of this watch it would have been the talk of the town had these been around back in the 70's. EYE use the barometer a whole lot and the tough solar is also fantastic.
Totally agree. Only Gshock I own currently is a 9052 in black with red accents, and I found out last week they make one with a blue case/band with yellow accents, and I’ve decided I “need” that one when my family goes on our annual beach vacation this year. Lol.
When I buy watches I buy them in a less systematic way. Many of them are Casio but any also any other established brands. I don't always buy a new one. If ebay has a decent deal on some well taken care of watch I may buy it as well, especially if I see it is below the average price it has been selling on ebay. But, the mind trick I notice my mind does when I find excuses to buy them is that I somehow can find a good utility purpose for the watch if I do not need it. Yes, I could gift them to friends who likes it. Yea, I could sell it back to someone on ebay either making a few dollars, or at worst losing a few dollars. And finally, well, whenever my time comes to pass away, someone may want to inherit them. Not really valid excuses, but they are what I think when I find reasons to buy another one.
I did a little behind-the-scenes video a few months ago... ua-cam.com/video/Ronm6XBzvQc/v-deo.html Some people do well enough just using a smart phone but I already had other video cameras so I usually use those instead of the phone. But cell phone cameras are generally surprisingly good nowadays.
@@GoodTimekeeper I waited for a year until I bought mine. But after a year I could not wait any longer and bought it. Now it's 11 month's since I bought it.and still the price hasn't come down here in the Netherlands. 499 euro. I guess it sells too well for Casio to decrease the price.
Greg, I like your videos because I also do NOT have a problem being addicted to buying Casio watches. What non-Casio watch brands do you like and bought many models of?
I have a Boluva automatic mechanical watch but most of my other non-Casio watches are watches I got more than 20 years ago. I am pleased with the wide variety of features on these Casios and the relatively very low prices. So Casio has been an obvious favorite. My recent videos on my “vintage” watches basically showed my non-Casio collection along with some older Casios.
Watches are certainly styling or "my image" of some sorts which can include functions and sales or whatever. I got interested in the 388 module in 2020 after getting a couple of "perfect" watches. I'm more interested in modifying or repairing some old ones at the moment.
The metal squares are much more expensive. I don’t know if you have splurged on any of those. I bought an aftermarket titanium kit from China and put the movement in it. Looks great!
Some people feel uneasy about it. I don’t regard it as a fake, but an accessory, like changing the watch band or the crystal. The band and bezel felt of reasonable quality, but I am not very experienced with metal bracelets. I used a basic G shock for the first one, so $40 for the g shock and about $120 for the titanium. The steel aftermarket is less expensive. A few months later I did it again with that carbon fiber strap gshock, as it has a titanium back and a better movement.
If you have so many watches how do you store them? Will the battery leak if kept unused? I think like you, and just discovered your channel. I have had a $7 watch since I was in middle school, for more than 25 years. I feel that if I get a new watch my old watch would … feel bad😅
I really don’t know how many were made. I suppose I only guess how rare something is by how difficult it is to find one on eBay. Not too rare around my house, however. I originally found a good deal and I bought two of them.
Greg, got my first G shock for Christmas (MTGM900A). LOVE IT! One.question: should I expect an alarm sound on the alarm function and the timer function or not? Have spent much time with that tiny little book and a magnifying glass and still can’t make it ring or ding with either function? Can you help me? Mark Hannum
Yes, the alarms, hourly signal and countdown timer should make sounds. Has the watch always been silent? I wonder what changed. Has anyone ever opened up the back? There may be a tiny spring missing which is essential for the beep to work correctly.
Well Greg, my watch DOES make alarm sounds. My hearing has gotten to such a point that I can’t hear them!!!!!!! Oh well, the watch is still great. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Bad analogy. You wash clothing, watches not so mach, that's why most people own only one. You buy them because you are fanboy (read it nuts). But it's not a problem for us, do whatever you want with your money.
Whenever I lose control and order another Casio, I watch one of your videos to convince myself that I haven't gone fully Anderson.
I used to daydream about being famous but I didn’t suspect that “Going Fully Anderson” would mean something nor that I might be famous because of THAT. Wow!

I'm a big fan of Multi Band 6 and Tough Solar too. I am wearing my GWM5610 today, lol.
I own many watches...mainly G Shocks. My problem is deciding which one to wear each day. Sometimes I change midway thru the day!🤣
