Good morning Steve and Alex, another hard testing job in extreme heat conditions. It just shows how good you work together as a team and don't know how anyone can say Alex is not a grafter? Whom keeps Steve supplied with materials? Whom preps all the bricks to be reused? Whom helps barrow or lift the heavy loads to save his dad? Whom keeps the site tidy? Oh and whom helps lay bricks or blocks? Have I missed anything guys, sorry if I have 👍🧱🤜
Wouldn't like to see a house plumbing system by whom put that push fit in 😮
Keep up the great work 👍🧱
Thanks very much Anthony very much appreciated 🙏🏽🧱👍🏽😁
All rest points but the grammar Nazis will complain about misuse of “whom”.
😆😆🧱🧱👍🏽
We need those type of wall jacks here in the States. Been a mason over 45 years and haven't seen these before. That's one of the reasons I like watching a Brother Bricky from "across the pond". Never to old to learn a new trick. Of course they are a "specialty" type of tool and more than likely wouldn't use them everyday but when you did need them they would be more handy than a pocket on a shirt!
They are a very useful tool as we do a lot of alterations. We finally own a few now so no messing about hiring them and returning them .
Thanks for watching and commenting brother 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Good music. Interesting film. Thanks mm
Thank you 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Good Job as always Lads
your customers must be Happy their in good Hands. 👍
Thanks pal 😁🧱👍🏽
Another great video. Keep'em coming...😀
Ta David will do 🧱👍🏽
Love to see you guys do such great work. 👍
Cheers 🧱👍🏽
@SteveAndAlexBuild served my time as a decorator. Went on to work as a contractor. That's some time back. While not blowing my trumpet, too much. I went on to be successful at a career and manage many different businesses. I've put it all down to my time as an apprentice and working at differing projects. Knowing where to start and finish is not something everyone has an understanding or / or knowledge of. As a young lad, I can also remember those days of tiredness or exhaustion. Something you will overcome as you get older. Enjoy your age and your time on this planet. You both have an incredible relationship ❤️
@gaelicd8328 . Thanks , great comment 🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
I have watched many of your videos but I have never been more worried than watching you manhandle those bloody great big RSJs. That said you managed it without specialist lifting gear using best practice techniques that are a mark of your craft. As an old boy often working on my own I learn from you every time I watch you vids. Thanks for the tips. 75 th birthday coming up for me and Mrs C has now banned me from new projects so I will enjoy watching and admiring.
Glad you like the channel . Happy 75 th 🥳🧱👍🏽
Always looking forward to the next video, I'm learning so much from you best building channel on UA-cam.
Thanks very much Frank 🧱👍🏽
What a great team and another lovely job, made much much harder in this weather. Thanks for continuing to share, I really enjoy watching.
Thanks, no probs Joe 🧱👍🏽
Hi Steve & Alex. Great job on the steels. You two are making it easy with your great working relationship. Steve don’t listen to them we all know hard Alex works. Have a good weekend. 👍
Thanks pal 🙏🏽🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
That's Squeaky! I was wondering where my old pet rat got to. You're famous now Squeaky.
🐭😆🧱👍🏽
Grear job lads and Alex works like a trouper you just dont see it all the time 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks pal , very true 🧱👍🏽
Thanks for the video.
Thanks fir watching 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
its no fun when somebody else has been there before you and you do not know what they have done ,great video again thank you
Thanks Eddie 🧱👍🏽🤜🏽🤛🏽
Great work 👍
🤙🏾🤙🏾🧱👍🏽
Whoever says Alex doesn’t work is a melt. I’d love to see Brian on site in that heat. Good on ya Alex, could tell you were knackered. I built a flat pack picnic table yesterday and I’m done in
Cheers Gary 🤣🧱👍🏽🥵
Hi Steve and alex👍hope you're both well.Great job with the steels👍another great insight lads.Take care.
Thanks Dave 🧱👍🏽
Great job lads especially in the heat. Nice attention to detail with the slate packing. You should be proud of your good working relationship.
Thanks Craig we certainly are 😍🧱👍🏽
Hey Guys.... Working over and above the call of duty. Those wall ties... Had a good gash on my arm once. Bled like a stuck piggy wiggy. Greetings from a wet Weston super Mare.... Bob
Nasty things 😬🩸🩸
Another massive job done well. 👏🏻👏🏻
😁🧱👍🏽
Cracking job done, Steve / Alex
Thanks Andrew 🧱👍🏽
Great job looking fantastic
Ta Michael 🧱👍🏽
Wow, earned your money there.
We certainly did mate 🥵🧱👍🏽
I'd say you were pushing it with just 2 acrows on the inner skin plus steel. I hate arguing against experience but there's easily 4 ton with masonry floor and roof loads. I like some contingency when propping, especially ifvyou are taking out large masonry panels or piers.
Also look into getting the Brick Brace system fellas. (I dont use them as a substitute for acrows or needles on big spans!) They wedge in the perps and keep all the bricks above the steels under lateral compression so the only making good is the perps the wedges were in. No dropped bricks to patch up. They will pay you back on a single job just like this one. Skill Builder did a vid and I'm sure there's a few others on here. Keep your tongues out.😨
😁🧱👍🏽
Take no notice of Brian,he cant of watched many video's if he has that view of Alex,hè does his fair share, always like your stuff fella's
Cheers John 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Awesome work lads keep it up ❤
Thanks very much 🧱👍🏽
It's coming along really well.
Thanks Rob . Over the testing but now 😁🧱👍🏽
Another great job Steve n Alex keep up great work you both do 👍👍
😁🧱👍🏽
Coming along great. A big Texas hello guys.
Hi mark and thanks 🧱👍🏽
You make it look so easy. Great teamwork. 👍
Ta Sean 🧱👍🏽
The final recap of events is called the "Epilogue" not an out go. Cool work.
🤣 it’s an outro as in the opposite of intro 🧱👍🏽
Excelente trabajo saludos 👍👌💪⚒️🧱
Thanks very much 🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
Agreed with the pillar buddy nice work as always.
Cheers Lee 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
really enjoy watching your content .
Thanks very much William 🧱👍🏽
Those hot days are killers 😂 as are cold, wet, snow and sometimes windy 😂 i moan about everyday and everything 👍🧱
Brickies are never happy 🤣🧱👍🏽
You could tell Alex looked very tired, like he was suffering from a hard day''s night in Sweden!
😆🧱👍🏽
Nice work gentlemen!
Ta Kevin 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Nice one lads, finally a problem ha you fixed it You two certainly work well together, Steve I hope others realise that you have more experience than Alex and have to explain how to him I have worked with others who think they know everything but come a cropper I don't know who criticises Alex but me I'm on you side. All the best, regards Ken
Thanks very much as always Ken 🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
Great video as always guys. Coming along a treat. 😊
That heat is sapping to work in though. Mind you seems like summers over now.
And the less said about that push fit pipe the better. 😬😬😬
Cheers Tom .. definitely 😳😬🧱👍🏽
Thanks for the uploads guys - another episode in the life of two Building Buddies! Working in that extreme heat is so debilitating, lifting those steels must have been so knackering - you both looked shattered. Think you both deserved an ice-cold beer after that!
Cheers Dave … tough day 🥵🧱👍🏽
There a pain to do these sorts off jobs but they look amazing when there finished maybe you should do a before and after vid for us.
This one was particularly painful 🥵🥵🧱👍🏽
Great job..Another awkward one overcome
Thanks pal 🧱👍🏽
Great job on those steels. That rat was a real 'Young Ones" moment (you may have to explain that to Alex). Hmmm - is it good luck or bad not to build it back into the brickwork? 😂. (Fully encased in concrete). Look forward to the next one.
🤣🤣. Loved that show 🧱👍🏽
Love watching, i wouldnt say Alex does nothing he does a hige amount of labouring for you its good to see him on the trowel in unison with you Ste but he get over taken in brick volume by the years of experience Steve has. One day he will over take you though!
Thanks Richard … one day 😍😍🧱👍🏽
Fish tail wall ties ....still have the scars on my shoulder and legs ....bloody nasty things ...memories of my apprenticeship days
🩸🩸😫🧱👍🏽
Do you normally always pack steels with slate then mortar in, as opposed to mortar only?
Bit if both 🧱👍🏽
Another great video guys, hope you don’t mind me saying Alex looks a bit down in the dumps and not is usual self, hope he’s ok.
He’s fine now . We both had a really bad day 🧱👍🏽
Great job Steve and Alex, you not get copyright on that music 20 minutes in
Not yet I need to edit that before we do 😬🧱👍🏽
Back in the day that is all we had to use. Fish tails. Bloody awful things.
Don’t miss then at all 😳🩸🩸🩸🧱👍🏽
Are still listening to fools Steve, bloody ignore them
🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Great vids as usual lads, you two bounce off each so well, however I think Alex looks a bit down lately. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again i wish you guys lived closer to me in North east, SA would be very busy doing my jobs, great content as usual guys 👍
Thanks Rob . Yeah Al was off ill the next day plus this particular day was horrendous for us both . I have edited all the swearing out . We had an awful day 🥺👍🏽🧱
@@SteveAndAlexBuild your only human steve must have been bad then to edit it out chin up guys you both are warriors and do a great job 👍
Naughty Brian 😂😂😂
🤣🧱👍🏽
Oooo fish tale wall ties.! Horrible things, great content as ever.! How’s the hip Steve.?
It’s grim Nigel , really struggling with everything especially shoe laces and stairs . Can’t carry anything .
Thankfully I have a pre op next month 🤞🏼🤞🏼
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I can imagine, my sister has just hers done, best thing she said… good luck with it Steve
I notice now that they were just resting in placing - ready for lifting.
🧱👍🏽
I really enjoy your videos and generally i reckon you are pretty rigorous on your temporary works and propping.
But today i was really worried..
Was surprised that you didn't build the inside lintel in to support the wall before taking the outer skin down.
In essence you had the whole rear wall supported on 3 over reaching strong boys with nothing under the left hand window.
Strong boys are strength rated at full blade insertion ' which 'nobody' does because leaving room to lift in the steel.
And it was that way overnight - hence the cracks to be pointed up.
Personally after the seecond steel went in I'd have got another strong boy and moved the others in so they could carry both skins and reduce the offset on the acriws.
I'm sorry to criiticise but i think you only just dodged a bullet there.
🧱👍🏽
Bet you were relieved to get those steels in and supported. Those old ties look lethal 😱 Is there another part to come or are you done there? 👍👍
Cheers Doug, another episode to come 😁🧱👍🏽
Why are the sloping steels on the outside edge so low? Or are they just resting in place at the moment?
🧱👍🏽
Just wondering what size the steels were (?). Great video.
Sorry David I’m not sure what the dimensions were 😬🧱👍🏽
Hep 2 oh shit
🤣🤣🧱👍🏽
if you want i know some big lads the smallest is 6ft 7ins we could send them round to brians if you want
🤣🤣🧱👍🏽
I don't understand why people ask about where are you ties because you can clearly see them. Maybe you should highlight them with line marker paint 😂🧱👍
We don’t mind criticism. What is annoying is comments when they clearly haven’t watched the video 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I am still working my way through all your videos as really enjoying them all 👍
Technique?!! @11:33 you are eating 3 Weetabix
😆😆👌🏼🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild You do work well together, ignore the moaners on a rant they are still figuring out a DUPLO construct😂
@@freepress8451 🤣🧱👍🏽
It was Shredded Wheat - used to come in a pack of 3.
Rather like some other 'weekend' products.
You need to be of a certain age 😀😀
Why did you hold the rat up against Al, Do they look-a-like 😂
That’s a bit mean on his birthday 🥺
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Happy Birthday Al
@@SteveAndAlexBuild How do you know it was 🐀 birthday, he was just bone
dad your voice is too soft , what a bugger of a job
Not using the mics enough sorry .
Very true 🥵🧱👍🏽
Hi lads curious why you don’t hide the steels I always try to hide the steels to look it’s one ceiling just curious
Too difficult 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild thanks I thought it was going to be like structural issue or something but cool keep up the good work
It would have been a lot of work opening up the whole wall and then trim floor joists into the inner steel.
And the other beams from the stairs and landing probably wouldn't have worked.
Here we got an economical practical solution.
Hi guys love watching these videos, weather here is a tad warmer 104 degrees today but our crews are used to it 💪 and my site office has AC 🌡thanks for entertainment ,,,,,,,this is the way🦸♀
Thanks very much . Can’t beat a bit if AC 😆🧱👍🏽
Yet another great video. Keep'em coming...
Cheers Bobby 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
