Not good. For regular income, best fund is debt fund. SWP.
Thanks Pranjal, you are the first financial youtuber whom I started to follow in 2019 and I got right direction to start my investment journey in mutual fund and stock market.
Not sure I agree with the idea of NOT investing with actively managed largecap fund and replacing that with index fund. The only problem is the index mandated weights with which one has to take exposure across stocks in an index fund thereby denying some flexibility to reduce or increase exposure to specific index stocks based on macro or global or sectoral situations.
Debt funds come with an advantage of indexation for taxing, plus I have got better returns than FDs overall with debt funds. All other 7 fund types I agree with you.
Trust me Pranjal this video should emerge as your best video. This is one of the most informative video on mutual funds.
I can't remember a time when this guy posted a video and I wasn't educated. Cheers Pranjal.
Touche ! He busts at least one myth per video for me .
V simple language that a new investor can also understand...
Thank u pranjal...
Pranjal Sir,
It would have been added advantage if some examples of large cap index funds & some actively managed large & midcap funds were mentioned.
Thanks
Quite informative and worth knowing particularly for inexperience investors in MF
Thanks
This guy gonna bring financial revolution someday. more power to bro
Agreed with you on removing both BAF and Actively managed Large Cap funds...but disagree on removing actively managed Midcap fund....Nice video by the way !
Agree , Even large cap results of last year says different story
Active Mid Cap Funds can be considered in our portfolio as they've beaten Flexi Cap Funds.
Hello, your best video so far. Actual actionable information for all new and experienced investors.. Well done and many Thanks....

Is it not advisable to invest FOFs which invest in international markets and indexes? For e.g. Motilal Oswal NASDAQ 100 is a FOF investing in the US tech index.
Great content. Aided in comprehending intricacies of these mutual funds. Thanks a lot🙂
Pranjal Sir, I thank you for making people of India financially aware. You're doing a great job for humanity. No words to describe. Thanks a billion. God bless you and your family always 🙏
I have been inspired in investing after watching your videos. You are one of the rarest person who can simplify mutual funds at its best
Great work and very informative video.
I agree with your logic about FOF but what about international mutual funds that invest in their parent funds. One of the best funds in this category are FOF viz., Edelweiss Greater china, Franklin India Feeder Franklin US opportunity, PGIM India global equity opportunity, etc.
Will it be wise to exclude the best-ranked international fund only because the expense ratio is relatively high as they are FOF?
Fantastic, now I feel, why some funds generating continuous loss. Thank you brother. Your explanation is amazing.

1) Don't invest in FoF-> but what about NASDAQ FoF
2)Debt Fund-> then where to keep emergency fund (so that it atleast beat inflation)
He is clearly mentioned avoid debt funds for long time investment . He also told short duration and liquid fund are excluded for short duration..

Nice video. Informative as always. I have different opinion on 2 points - Debt funds have better tax advantage when compared to FD and I think Mid Cap Funds can still be considered due to the possible growth potential in these growing companies.
I agree with your views
Agreed. Difference between debt fund returns and FD return is not so small. And Debt fund are also safe generally.
I want to invest in mutual fund money for the first time in my life. Suggest me which will be best for me
It depends on the investment duration you are planning for...if your duration is 12+ years you can opt for MidCap, Small Cap n Flexi Cap funds. Any MF interested is fruitful for long term investment only ..say more than Ten Years.@@ajoysharma1577
Pranjal I like your content and your knowledge on the financial market. in this video you talked about fof. i would like to say that in the International mf market fof is the most prominent funds available today. Active managed International funds are too less in number currently

I couldn't completely agree with you on FOF, cause motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF direct growth plan invests in MO Nasdaq 100 ETF and it is US index fund with less expense ratio.
Also Franklin US opportunities fund giving consistent returns over past several years

Thanks for wonderful video on which MF category not to invest. Hybrid is one category which has given excellent returns for lesser quantum of Risk. With 65% in Equities & Direct exp. of 0.36% - Mirae Asset Equity Hybrid
I agree with your NFO point but all the other funds which u have mentioned are for people who are unable to do active management of their investments every day. Balanced funds had the least fall during the covid period while all others had a free fall. Any person who is a moderate investor was saved by balanced funds, fof, large cap funds and debt funds.

Sir, according to your advise is it sensible decision to replace large cap actively managed fund with the Sensex or Nifty50 ETF for long term? or what kind of passively managed fund you will suggest for long term in large cap category. Hope you will take my question and oblige. Thanks in advance.

Debt funds are preferred over FD in case of high income tax bracket.
Here one can defer selling to short term and skip income tax for later years at a reduced rate of long term with indexation benefits.
In case of FD accrued interest is also taxable.
Excellent. Eyes opening .sir bring out such hidden facts by ur videoin future before investors like me .
Thank you very much for discussing what we do not need to do. It is very important lesson of life also where our parents only may be guide us what not to do in life. That's why I like your todays concept so much and also share with my friends.

Watching your videos since more than a year now, gaining knowledge in every video click on your channel. All the best Pranjal 🥃❤️
Good advice for selection of mutual fund. But I am not agreement to avoid balanced fund and debt fund. Above 45 age, one should gradually invest in balanced or hybrid fund to reduce risk and better return also. I also prefer to invest in debt like ultrashort term fund, short term fund , corporate bond fund etc which is far better than FD.
Very well explained about avoiding financial mistakes.
U can also tell for example when u explain any concept, this will help a lot.
hi pranjal, i did not have to worry about choosing mutual funds as i have been gaining knowledge from your previous videos and started investing in few mutual funds last month for different purposes. none of them are among these, thanks to you. after watching this video, i feel reassured about my choice of MFs as i did enough research before investing which i learned from u.

Thanks Sir for such good quality lectures on finance. Please release video lectures on strategy wealth creation through Mutual funds in long term. No fund can keep on performing good for
10/15/20 years continuously. Other funds/ new funds overtake the old ones. What
to do with money in poorly performing funds? That money will be eaten up in form of expense ratio apart from poor return . How to shift that money into new better ones ? Long term systematic plan lecture from your side will be surely educating us. Hoping suitable videos soon.
Pls give reply on this. Pranjal sir 🕳

DIRECT SCHEMES ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE.
Thank you sharing these valuable lessons about Mutual funds that not everyone talks about!
I have a point to add, one should only start investing in direct mutual funds if you have the right knowledge and understanding of choosing a mutual fund for your needs. While trying to save 1% if you choose a wrong (not suitable for your needs) fund then you might have to face big loss of money and time.
It is very important to choose a right fund category and fund depending upon your needs.
Also stay away from fund advisors who try to sell you a scheme without understanding your needs.
It means regular funds are more safer than direct funds...?
Har vyakti ka video banane ka apna apna swarth hota hai kisi per bhi Yun hi Vishwas kaise karen, sabke अपने-अपने vichar Hain koi kisi investment ki guarantee nahin le Sakta agar le Sakta to vah khud hi sabhi kuchh Kama leta

@@mixculture2993No not necessarily. Regular funds are good for those people who are financially or technically ill-informed and don't want to dig their heads at all into the market.

Thank you for this advise. Please make video regarding when to book profit in MFs and how/where to reinvest the profit,. Even though we are long term investors, we should not get stuck with same MF.
I was actually struggling to decide among large, mid and large-mid. Invaluable video. Thanks for bringing this out and educating the investors. Keep up the great work!
if you are high risk taking investor go for 1 large cap like axis or canara robecco large cap and a small cap like axis/sbi/kotak small cap for longer horizon
Fund of fund are useful in cases where it's difficult to invest directly in that funds. Like global or US funds. We can directly invest on those if you have large sum but retail investors it's difficult.
Invest in ETF through demat in small amount in the original fund.
Yea i had no other option. I wanted to invest in US stocks which concentrate on Technology only
So i had to go for fund of funds
@@utpalkumarjana9742 but you need account on exchange trading those ETF. And indian exchange doesn't have foreign ETFs. That's where fund of funds comes handy.
@@cseatul i am not batting for demat...i said if anyone does not want FOF, he may purchase ETF through Demat.
@@utpalkumarjana9742 ETFs are just basket mostly of similar asset class so in essence it's fund which is trader on exchange. It's not an alternative to FoF where alternative could be ETF which has only other ETFs in it which is again very rare on our exchanges.

FoF funds invest in international markets too and they can provide with a return of 30-40% as comapred to other funds. then why this is considered never buy ?
It is exceptional.
Nice video. But for 'fund of fund' category, sometimes we have to choose it if we want to invest in foreign market. Since there are not much mutual funds which directly invest in foreign market like china, US.
