- In Episode 2 and If you are new to P&O Cruises and are sailing with them for the first time and on Arvia then I have answered the most frequently asked questions. In this episode I answer all of your questions from the moment you step on board until the moment you disembark.
Whether you are a first time cruiser with P&O Cruises or have booked P&O Cruises Arvia then this video is filled with Arvia cruise tips and will help you and answer some questions you may have . These questions are all designed to help you from embarkation day and right up to the day of departure.

Hi, I’ve read some really bad reviews on tripadvisor for the Arvia Caribbean cruise unfortunately. We was looking to book January and was looking forward to it until they was calling it Butlins at sea. 😢
Can you let me know your opinion please? Also saying on a sea day you cannot get a subbed unless your up before 6am please can you give some advice? X
Hiya, Thankyou for your comment! I can only speak about my experience which was last Feb and I have to say I had an absolutely wonderful time onboard. It wasn’t Butlins at sea at all.
It saddens me really . I do appreciate people pay a lot of money for these Caribbean sailings like I did but I had friends on the 17th Feb sailing who were on the sailing with me last year and they loved it just as much although they said it was a lot busier.
Sunbed situation for me last year was if you wanted a sunbed by one of the pools then 6.30-7am was the best time to get one. If you were happy being around the sides of the ship then 8am on sea days. There are normally 4 sea days on a 14 night itinerary
When I was on Arvia in September around the med I paid for the retreat instead of the drinks package and we had a bed anytime of day waiting for us whether we wanted it in the shade or the sun.
In future I would only book this ship again if I could buy the retreat pass so I could have a lie in and a leisurely breakfast then go to my sunlounger at 10am on a sea day. The ship is beautiful and I lived my time on her. My advice is to book it and make your own mind up.
Hi Holly, have you noticed relatively large numbers of kids/teenagers on P&O ships recently? We keep reading of loads particularly on Arvia with one recent cruise having up to 1700 kids on board! We are beginning to have serious concerns that cruising won't be the relaxing experience we hoped for! Just wondered if you had seen this mentioned or experienced it yourself?

Hi Mick, I guess we will find out as school holidays approach but I have been on Cruises in school holidays before and personally it’s not been an issue. The only negative feedback I have had regarding the amount of kids on board has been msc Virtuosa x unruly I think the word was used but as for Arvia I haven’t heard anything negative regarding g families on board. When do you go?
@hollydaysatsea HI Holly, we was due to go 26th of May 2024 but we've actually decided to transfer to the one beginning 9th of June instead, 2 weeks later. The wife is on the Arvia forum & has been reading of loads of kids & we realised 26th of May would be around spring Bank Holiday week! We're hoping come 9th of June there might be far fewer kids on board! I've already spoken to P&O and it's not a problem to transfer, they've been very helpful! Thanks for the response btw, love your videos!
Ahhh ok yes I am glad you were able to amend the date. There is also the adults only retreat you could prebook too . It’s £429pp including refreshments so I guess whether you think it’s worth it and if you are going to be off ship much. At the end of the day this is your holiday and you need to be happy :-)
Is there anything that a singles meet or anything of that nature on Arvia?
@@samanthadaniels2991 hi Sam, yes there is at least one a day early evening , some cruiselines do a morning meet up as well and I cannot remember if Arvia is one of them. They definitely do an evening meet up though x

the sewing kit is from amazon and highly recommended. I have needed mine so many times

Not at all, the P&O App you use onboard is already connected to the ships wifi :-)

I am going on arvia in July, with my children (ages 10 and 13). Can they go into kids clubs together or are age bandings enforced ?
Also are there any age restrictions on the silent discos ?
Hiya. They have to go into there age appropriate age groups unfortunately. Cruiselines are quite strict on this.
