Picked one up last November on sale. Mine came with the wing already attached, clip tethers, wheel stickers etc. The ESC brake was set at 25% despite the literature stating 50% as the default. This was my first “monster truck” style vehicle to just goof around with, jump, wheelie on command and such. It looks like a speed truggy, but in reality it’s a high center gravity monster truck with soft suspension. Dialing down the steering dual rate helps on speed passes since the slightest input adds body lean and gets it wagging, but at the end of the day, it’s essentially a Maxx trying to go 60+.
Yeah I seen that mine was special for some reason lol They are sending me all the parts good info on the esc it is weird it doesnt match but glad it was not just me I bet different tires it will calm down the wag but I am not too concerned I will only run it in the dirt but I feel like the soft sidewalls hurt the handling so I might try something different Thanks for watching and the comment
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife Yeah, tire swapping is always a good place to start. I switched to Kraton 4s Copperhead 2s. They’re heavier than the stock tires giving better control on wheelies/jumps, lower the cg slightly, and generally just settle the EXT down a bit. The offsets are different though, so hub extensions are needed.
One beast you are missing from your fleet is the Axiel Scx6. I know you don't do crawling but that truck is absolutely not just a crawler. It can move on 4s. Especially with a high capacity, 100 to 120c battery. You could use it to tow your boats and planes. Heck, it's powerful enough to tow a full size car in fact and it is an exact replica of the jeep rubicon. It comes with a Spektrum sensored motor and esc. Really enjoy that truck. I know a guy that installed, I think its an outrunner motor from 3brothers? With a Castle Mamba esc. The thing does burnouts and rips like no tomorrow but can also slow to a crawl. Tempted to do that to mine in fact, although the stock system is fine. Hopefully you'll add one of them at some point. I'd love to hear your review on that. Definitely a unique vechile that comes in two options. The Jeep Rubicon or the Honcho. The Honcho I've heard is a bit more capable in fact, not quite as top heavy.
@XWXW-lk4jf you are right I am not a fan of crawling but I am interested in unique rc's so you never know I have a really cool one coming up sometime this week I hope you will like it
24:56 this thing is designed to do nothing but drive fast over smooth dirt terrain. That's it point blank 🤣😂🤣😂 and for that it actually does fairly well
Nice I like the body is different looking but the black and red looks pretty sharp 👌 😎 👍 nice intros with the ninja service that was pretty funny .....
Let me tell you, I'll admit, I'm jealous of of how many rc's you are getting. I'VE been purchasing left and right as well but not quite to your level. I'm annoyed some how you got your hands on those lights for the Big Rock and the ixsr transmitter. That annoyed me because I've been trying to get my hands on them for 9 months! Next shipment is October. I bought the dx5pro back in July. I should have waited until August and just bought the ixsr, when it came out. Then recently decided to buy a new Xmaxx instead of the new Remote. I'll get that soon but right now I am in the process of putting a new sensored Hobbywing in the 6s Mojave. We'll see how that goes. This will be my first time buying a max6 Hobbywing so we'll see how it does. Also have a clear body for the Big Rock, to have real windows.
@XWXW-lk4jf thanks I have had the light kit on order since day one but yeah I get screwed too I preorder the Mojave grom day one next thing I know vids are popping up on it and mine hasnt shipped same with the remote mine came on the second batch a month late. I buy a lot because of the channel to bring fresh content its never a competition its all about fun congrats on the xmaxx.its a beast I wish they would fix the body issues but overall a great rc to have
12:36 why do you need anything to cover the shock caps? It's not a buggy. It has the body, doesn't it? Unless you intend to run it without the body? Inquiring mines want to know tell us
Camber adjustment holes do not provide infinite adjustment 🤣😂🤣😂 clearly Redcat was intending this to be a groomed dirt road rocket. It took me a couple years to figure out what in the hell this RC was for until then, I absolutely hated this thing
Actually two of my very first rc vechiles were the Redcat Kaiju and the Redcat Kaiju ext. I did not know as much about them back then so perhaps some of the issues could have been fixed. Nonetheless, neither were all that good but this was several years ago and they have made improvements. This was when the ext version first came out. That said, the ext had problems right out of the box with a bad servo, esc and receiver. It soon became a parts bin that several years later, I still pick screws off of. The regular Kaiju was better but after about 6 months the motor and esc started running overly hot. I ended up trading it in for a 6s Typhoon. The ext version was not tradable. That was hot garbage right out of the box. I took a big loss financially on that one. I vowed never to buy a Redcat again until the Valkyrie came out. It is very clear that Redcat made some major improvements because from what I see, the Valkyrie is one of the best built rtr's that I have seen in a very long while. I am floored with just how stable it is. How it can literally stop on a dime from going 62 mph. If I tried that with a Traxxas Maxx the thing would flip from here to Australia. That said, the several times I did run the Kaiju ext, before it broke, right out of the box it hit 65 mph. Be curious to see if this is any better.
@XWXW-lk4jf definitely seems better from the videos I watched it took some strong hits to concrete and nothing broke I thonk they are working hard to fix the bad reputation they had
22:43 get the truck on the bench and just hold the body or the chassis static and then rock or slide the truck back and forth and you will see how screwed up the suspension geometry is designed
Very nice crossing over the gorge. I bet you could do some cool speed runs down the center of the dry waterway or what every you call it. Very impressive Redcat! 🏆
Thank you its kind of bumpy in there for speed runs but it is a fun part to run through sometimes there is a lot of dirt to slide through so far its been a fun rc thank you for watching and the comment
Hey brother, how are you? Awesome video! Glad to see you’re still going hard. I had the original blue Kaiju and loved it! Such a fun truck. Long time no talk sorry about the disappearance. you know a little bit about my life and unfortunately has been probably the toughest time of my life this last six months. What I can say though and most importantly, is that me and my little girl are together. This is my first time on UA-cam and almost 6 months. I hope all is well with you brother for the catching up on your videos. I wanted to let you know me and my daughter were driving the grasshopper yesterday having a blast together.
good to hear from you I sent a email a while back to check on you and never heard back but no worries I know you have a lot going on awesome to hear your enjoying the grasshopper and having a good tie with it
Yeah man thank you. It’s a shame you had such a bad experience with this truck in the beginning. Like I said, I had so much fun with the original can’t lie a whole deans. Connector thing is so stupid!
@Adubbs87 its all minor stuff but redcat took care of all the issues so that is all I can ask for it is a fun rc I would definitely go for blue but the sale was on this lol still a cool color I think
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife yea the older body style with the blue is so cool! And yea man can’t beat a sale, I’m with u there all day!! I see you took an awesome trip! Hope u had a blast!!
Redcat is amazing they are sending new wheels, tethers, and a wing with all the hardware
It definitely had the mt10 feel to it

Don't forget Dean 's. Connectors will limit your battery size capacity normally as deans is seen as a lower output pack.
