I saw them live that same year and I've been to well over one hundred concerts and I have to say that KISS in 1977 was the best concert I've ever seen 🤘🎸♥️
No band could ever match Kiss, the way the were back in the day. They had an appeal unlike any other. Everything was perfect, from top to bottom - the name, the logo, their incredible image with the make-up and costumes and the mystique surrounding the band because they didn't show themselves without make-up - to me it was like there was something almost supernatural about them with that image they had, like they were from another world, and of course the great music and epic stage shows. That whole package altogether is light years beyond any act in the history of rock IMO. I'm glad I started listening to them when they still had the make-up and was able to experience that era of Kiss.
I was a HUGE fan back in the 70s...As a fan i am embarrassed at how they constantly bitch about each other in the press nowadays. But back then...no one could touch them..One of the best live acts ever.
MegaChorro123 They were, but they were absolutely huge in the late 70's. I was all part of that scene. Kiss late 70's was as big as all the hair metal bands put together from the late 80's...believe it or not, thats how popular KISS was. In the late 70's, most people in my school listened to KISS, but there were some kids that were into DISCO in that time. I am glad I got to experience the 70's...the time we are living through now is really bad. Every decade seems to get worse as time goes on.

Jose Mendoza Thx for the reply, the proof is in the pudding with Garth Brooks and other icons admitting they stole ideas about concert gimmicks from Kiss. They were truly pioneers in the sense of what a real rock concert should include.
Good point, I remember Paul Stanley/Gene Simmons wanting to play in Tupelo MS in honor of Elvis, they weren't allowed a permit to have a concert there. But they said the big Elvis in lights inspired them to highlight their logo on stage. They also credited the Beatles with wanting to get the female crowd excited.
This is exactly how I'd handle things if I had a rock band and we were playing a live show. I'd find one of our best songs, open with it, go straight for the throats of the audience, show no mercy and keep attacking them musically right to the very end.

I saw KISS in San Bernardino in 1996 during their reunion tour. I paid $275.00 a pop for seats in row G, center for my friends and a few co-workers...the bill came to over $1400.00 (probably cost $3000.00, today). Nobody ever paid me back...I didn't care, though; KISS made me feel like the whole show was tailored just for me. They played all the songs I wanted, the way I wanted them played...everything was oriented towards giving the fans the best time, ever and the most value that the fans' hard-earned money could buy. I spent $1400.00 bucks, but after that show, it was clear I had totally ripped them off. I got a priceless show and was very, very happy and satisfied that I finally got to see them, live*. KISS performed the most professional, best sounding and the most "personalized for the fans" show I have ever seen, period. *Okay, I saw them in like 1987 without their makeup...I can't remember much of that one.

Greatest tour ever!!!!!!!!!
Debatable.
I was at this concert; Chicago Stadium, fifth row center from stage. Unforgettable and great. Kiss at the top of their game!
They rocked this song like no other. Pure showmanship and a little talent went a long way for decades.....
Great hard rock talent
The 1977 Love Gun Tour was my very first Kiss Concert! I remember this Concert Set Up all too well!
The only way time travel is possible, video
Kiss is for ever , I am 51 now still on me , they will never die .
One of the hottest openings ever!
i saw them in Aug. 1977...few weeks before this in Canada...... they were so loud I had to stick my fingers in my ears to be able to tand it....but i loved every second.... the energy was like nothing I ever experienced in the dozens of world class band concerts i saw before and after. i waited in line at the venue all day waiting for someone to refund some tickets...it was sold out.....2 hours before the show the ticket agent waved me over and i got 3 tickets.
Best opening concert song. Love Peter's drum grooves, better than any of his replacements and most rock drummers. He has great chemistry with Ace.
Criss sucked. Tempo all over the place. Coked out of his gord.
No Ace solo footage, thanx, Paul and Jean... smh
Dude I'm 59 still love to play kiss on guitar been playing most of mylife rock and roll 🎸
Classic KISS, great times, real great times
Say what you may about Paul Stanley's guitar playing...but only use words such as 'fantastic', 'superb' and 'excellent' to describe his songwriting.
the happy an beautiful days
Those were the days. Paul says ace and Peter today can't keep up with him and gene talent wise. Well sometimes this is what is all that's needed. To me this is the real KISS
This is My KiSS. At their peak and headed into the dirt. 74-78. KISS Army forever
Now this is KISS and without Ace and Peter it is not KISS love it
I showed my brother this video he was at this concert. I remember walking into his room in 1977 his friend had his face painted like Gene. Love you bro thanks for introducing me to still one of my favorite bands.
At their peak, in 77 they were the greatest band on earth!
One of my favorite KISS songs I saw this tour when I was 11 and remember this being the opening song, still love KISS @43
Saw this tour - My mom thought I had been possessed by the devil - I put their posters on my wall from my Creem and Circus magazines.
Same thing !!! KISS wallpaper everywhere !!!
Web Direct Brands That's how my mom felt when she found i enjoyed Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Motley Crue! From the posters, to the t-shirts, to magazine pin-ups, to going to the concerts, you name it!
Web Direct Brands Awesome, funny though my mother bought my ticket to the Alive II concert and of course she was there one fantastic night. Came home with massive ringing in my ears, my body shaking from the awesome amps and my hair full of the God of Thunder machine confetti machine. Thanx Mom!
yo también inunde mi habitación con Posters❤

Me to. Used to go to the local drug store weekly looking for the latest magazine with KISS in it.
For some reason, I can't convince my son and daughter how cool this is. Kids these days...
Give them some time :) I have switched from thrash to KISS at the age of 38. Its never late :)
Michael Coffman Really? I'm 15 and LOVE KISS!
Michael Coffman Turn it up loud and sing along with it. That's how I get music like this over to young people. When they catch the vibe, groove and spirit of songs like this, they will appreciate it! lol
Fraevo10 I can see that working.
+EHEC19200 I liked kiss from the age of 4.....im better
I feel young...❤
