    Absolutely wonderful to have such good videos that save people so much money and give an understanding to how much we get ripped off because we own a Mercedes by the dealerships. I followed the direction and was able to do my oil change in 24 minutes. Thank you for saving me $275.00 to $300.00 Dollars. If you are ever in the Orlando area please look me up and I'll treat your dad and the whole family to dinner. Thank you so much !!! XYZ Auction

    Excellent video, only thing I do different is I add the oil and check for leaks before replacing the shroud.
    Please appreciate your father-son time, it's what life is about, making memories.

    Great specifics on all but the difficulty getting the undershield back in place. First, you can't reach the back two screws without lifting the truck some. Worse, because of the angle the rear of the plastic shield requires to get back above the rear cross piece and into place to screw back in, you really have to lift the front even more to be able to get enough angle to get it jammed up in there. And you most definitely can not start putting it back on from the front back. Back has to go up/back into that slot first, then work your way back to front. All this on a 2014, but I suspect others are similar.
    Thanks for the video - saved me rummaging around for proper sized sockets. First time was a little over an hour with two beers and a sprinkling of profanities. Next time should be done in 30 or less minutes and without scarring any children.

  • @Kevin09210

    I worked on a mercedes dealer and worked on many of these. I also work on some bmws on the side. German cars arent that special for oil changes. They are as easy to change the oil as your typical toyota, honda, ford or chevy. You just have to know what you are doing.

    • @jongkim7
      @jongkim7 5 років тому

      You are correct that it's suppose to be 8.5 quarts...he used 7.5 quarts. He should have started the engine and let oil get funneled through the oil filter and re-measure.

    • @worldpeace5853
      @worldpeace5853 3 роки тому

      I guess 7 to 7.5 should be good enough. Hope this helps. Refer here -oil-change.info/mercedes-benz-m-class-engine-oil-capacity/

    Great video.....I would suggest using a 1 QT. measuring container to add the additional amount of oil after pouring the first 5 quarts......use the 2nd 5qt container to fill the 1 QT. Container.....I also use BG Products #109 as a pre-oil change flush to remove the sludge, followed up with BG MOA (Motor Oil Additive) ….(* do not over fill crankcase.)…..and add BG 44K to gas tank at every oil change.

    thanks for the great video.. some tech told me that mercedes do not actually open the bottom covers they simply suck the old oil out then put the new . claiming that opening covers every time will weaken screws.

      jdroid And exactly how are they supposed to do that? I just wonder, because as a previous MB owner, there's no way in earth you can have access to the oil drain plug whitout removing that cover.

    • @megaman4201
      @megaman4201 6 років тому

      They use a vacuum extractor to literally suck the oil out through a tube... from the top.

  • @user_tron88
    @user_tron88 5 років тому

    All that work. Why don't you use the oil pump, it is more easily. I use Mityvac to pump out my oil and take it to Autozone to dump out my use oil. Mercede use the same method as I am also.
