Great vid. I have the 97D. It’s a good racket but I also feel it’s missing that Umph… However, I did put lead tape (3.62g) at the 12:00 position and it seemed to help a little. Love the control of the Percept line though. I would say these rackets are “technique heavy”. The racket doesn’t generate much power but if you have good technique I.e. good racket head speed, follow through by moving forward and a good unit turn it’s definitely a weapon.
Thankfully I am injury free at almost 50 years of age. 97H is an awful lot to swing around, I just reduced my racquet from 360g to only 345g (strung). Soft strings and soft frame should help reduce the risk of injury.
What is the string pattern on the 97H? 16x19? Thanks for the excellent reviews! I find the heavier racquets are preferable for intermediate to advanced players including myself. They are more stable and absorb shock better.
I demoed a Percept 97 and an Ezone two days ago. The 97 is perfect for me. I ordered two of them at Plaza Tennis in El Cerrito. I like a 4 5/8 grip, so had to be ordered. John is letting me use the demo until my rackets arrive in June. You mislabeled the rackets as "Precept" in the video. lol
What suggestions do you have for customizing the racket? I now have my Percept 97. Can you suggest where to put lead? Did you recommend a leather grip? Or will the racket become too heavy. This is the right place. ;-)
51 and no problem for me so far. I try to eat right. All vegan. All organic. Before taking up tennis over a year ago, I was doing MMA for quite a long time and never had any injuries. You gotta eat right. Most of the food today is full of chemicals and who knows what else.
Maybe just a tiebreak to 10 between all our favorites at tennis spin. Must include Surina. round robin tie break. and we the viewers get to pick who uses what racquet. Wilson or Solinco can sponsor the event. We pick from their line of racquets. Chris has blade 104. Haha.. Gu can use whiteout xtd, Harry….give me an oversize babolat. Rob can do rf97, Surina… a 80 sq inch.

Wow 5 is large grip size I’ve come down to 3 with overgrip makes it 4 🤔 guess it’s personal choice 🤷♂️
My fave is the 97H too! I added lead tape to 10 and 2 total of 2g just to get the SW that I want.
What do you guys think of jimmy oyangs show interior china town?

Whatever food we are eating, something in the ingredients is decalcifying the bone, that is why a lot of tennis player are getting injuries.

Thats very true i think it’s sugar and lack of vitamins specially B1 i experienced improvement by these changes
Have u tried out the 97L?
Ordered 97L from Canada. These are too heavy hence not whippy. Also, D and H are not easy on wrist because of weight. Good control though.
Would like to see a match between Jerod and Coach Gu
