I'm glad to hear that! This is my favorite variety of cucumber. They are delicious, prolific, and they last later into the season than most. I also like the China Jade variety, which are close to a yard long, but also parthenocarpic with high yields and good heat tolerance. I'd recommend them both, but the China Jade won't be as good for pickles if you like to make whole pickles. You'd have to slice them since they're so long.
@@daphnemitchell7817 Here’s the recipe for 1 QUART. I usually multiply it since we make so many. You can use cucumber spears or slices. You can leave out the crushed red pepper if you don’t like spicy stuff. They’re not hot just a little warm after you eat a few. Boil: 1 cup apple cider vinegar 1 cup water 1 1/2 Tbs kosher or canning salt In jar place: 2 tsp dill weed 2 tsp red pepper flakes (if desired) 2 cloves of garlic or 2 tsp minced garlic 2 sprigs of fresh dill Fill jar with cucumber spears or slices. Pour boiling brine into jar and leave a half inch of head space. Put on lid and ring finger tight and let jar cool. Turn jar upside down after a half hour or so. You can divide the ingredients into 2 pint jars if desired. Best to let them sit two or three days before opening so they get more flavor. Hope you enjoy them. We certainly do.
For prevention of powdery mildew, use 2-1/2 cups whole milk per gallon of water. Spray all plants that are susceptible to powdery mildew once per week. This has worked better for me than anything else I have ever tried!

I grew cucumbers for the first time last summer and grew Beit Alphas and was amazed how many I ended up with. From now on I will not grow any other variety. I grew them for salads and ended up just snacking on most of them straight from the plant. They are completely bitter free and delicious 😋 even kids like them! What a great video by the way and what a stunning plot you have. Thanks for your knowledge.
I grow the passandra cucumbers. They are a UK variety and I live in NTX. We got tons of rain this spring and those plants are growing like champs. I planted four plants and they all germinated and growing like crazy. I just harvested three cucumbers and there are several more growing to maturity with baby cucumbers all over the vine. I plan to harvest the seeds and regrow those next year...God willing these will become accustomed to the NTX weather and become a new variety.

My Chinese mum in law showed me how to take the bitterness out of a cucumber. Slice the end off and rub the cut sides together. A light sap will start to develop. Rinse off the sap and use.
I grew Beit Alpha last year for the first time and everything @themillenialgardener said is true. From 1 plant, I had 60+ cucumbers. It didn’t get powdery mildew until close to the end of the season and it still kept producing. I’m growing again this year.

Just transplanted my first Beit Alphas into the garden…excited to see how they produce this fall. I have a ‘tasty green’ that is just fruiting now, so will pull that one up once the BA’s start putting out. I haven’t tried the tasty green yet, but it’s interesting that they are my only cucurbit in the garden that doesn’t have powdery mildew at the moment, in Leland NC. Thank you for the tip on these cucumbers. We've already harvested more so far this year than all of last season and still have at least a hundred flowers on our plants. Thank you very much.
First time I decided to try grow cucumbers, I bought a cheap punnet of four seedlings. 52 kgs later (114 lbs), I received several death threats from my family, friends & neighbours to whom I was giving surplus stock. There were so many, people were sick of eating cucumbers. Since that year though, I've tried growing several types together, and all have failed. Your great video has now given me the answer. Stick to one type. I heard good things about Beit Alpha also, and was thinking of growing them this year. Think I will now. Thanks again. PS Lots of watering is another secret to getting lots of cucumbers. I was giving a gallon each, every night, and picking 2.5lbs on average for a period of 40/60 days.
Oh my gosh, thank you for the information. It came in time for me to rip out my other trellised variety and replace it with beans. Another very productive cucumber like the variety in the video is “Muncher”-I’ve grown them for several years. Last year (2021) I got hundreds of cucumbers from only 8 plants-enough for fresh eating, giving away to neighbors, and canning 30 quarts of dill pickles. Munchers make great pickles.
@@peachieledbetter4550 I’ve used them for dill pickles, relishes, bread and butter pickles, and refrigerator pickles. They are wonderful in every recipe I’ve tried. Pick them at 3 to 6 inches for best pickling. They are also great and crispy eaten fresh.

Thank you so much for years I've grown cucumbers and never really have watch a video to learn more about since I thought it was straightforward I thought that it was normal for when I picked a cucumber to the whole plant to die I usually grow a lot of plants to get more cucumbers and they all die after I pickup one cucumber Now I know that I needed to pick them up earlier before they go to seed
I'm glad it was helpful! Yes, the secret to growing cucumbers is to harvest them early and often, and NEVER let them get large or turn yellow. Once the cucumber plant thinks it made mature seed, it dies back, so picking all your cucumbers when they're young and small has the cucumber plant desperately forcing its energy into fruit production to make mature seed. You're tricking the plant into over-producing, and cucumbers taste best when young and crisp, anyway! Thanks for watching.
The last two years my cucumber yield has been pathetic. I now know why. I just put my garden in today but next year I will use the variety that you have recommended. I would love for you to do a video on planting seeds. You have given me some hope. Thank you for that!
Thanks for the information! I just read the comments and saw where you said we can protect the Beit Alpha by covering them with insect netting so the bees can't pollinate them. That's BRILLIANT ADVICE!!! That's exactly what I'm going to do!!
@@TheMillennialGardener Actually, a couple weeks ago I bought a lot of tulle from Joann Fabrics, on sale, to keep my veggies protected from cabbage moths, hornworms, etc., so I plan on using that on the corn as well. Tulle is very inexpensive.
@Margaret D, How'd that ultimately work for you? I've found the rain doesn't penetrate tulle well, but if you aren't relying on rainfall for most of your watering, that wouldn't matter. I also found that the tulle abraded my plants a lot more so I needed to support it to keep it from touching most of my plants. I'd love to know your experience!

Hi. I’m new to your channel... Very informative! Thank you so much for sharing. I’m a new gardener and love cucumbers & although I didn’t know this information before, I did know I’d need plenty of pollinators so I planted. I planted marigolds, basils, and other vegetables and flowers that attract bees; I have lots of bees! I didn’t have any issues growing my cucumbers though I didn’t get a single zucchini!!! I will try this cucumber next year! We could never have enough. You can make the agua fresca as several people have suggested, dill cucumber pasta salad is delicious too. As a snack or appetizer we very often, if not daily, have sliced cucumbers with lime, salt and a little hot pepper powder! 😋
When I was a wee lad we grew acres of pickling cukes to sell to the Del Monte people and we never worried about fruit set. Now I know why. Thanks for clearing up a 60 year old mystery I had.
@@msmarygardner well he didn't say it was a zucchini he actually talked about cucumbers but since they are in the same family its not out of the realm of possibility that zucchini could produce only female blossoms. One of my helpers at the farm was talking about it as though he had seen them before. I took his word for it and although he didn't remember the name, I happened to watch this video later that day and here the expert discussed the exact thing. 😊

Wow! I didn't know about parthenocarpic cucumbers. But, since I live in Israel, I'm happy to learn that the Beit Alfa variety is parthenocarpic! BTW, the Beit is pronounced like English "bait."
We planted this cuke last year and got quite a few small cukes from it. We're near Cleveland, OH and I was pleasantly surprised since they're in a container with a trellis. It's been a cold spring here, but I'll be planting more of these this week. I originally got them because I saw a video somewhere about them & how they were developed on a kibbutz in Israel and I liked that. Thanks for all the info. I'm a new follower and I'm enjoying your channel.
Love this. I have been gardening for over 50 years. I didn't know parthenogeneic cucumbers existed. What's also strange, I bought a packet of beit alpha seed just to see how they grow. There were only the usual general instructions on the pack. If I had not seen this video, I would have screwed up the planting. Now all I have to do is find out how far I need to plant from my other cucumbers. Thank you!
That's interesting and very neglectful on the seed supplier, in my opinion. This is why I buy almost all my seeds online, now. Packet descriptions leave a lot to be desired. I want to read a full page description online. Baker Creek has 4 or 5 different types of parthenocarpic cucumbers. I am growing 2 different parthenocarpic cucumbers this year: Beit Alpha and China Jade. I'm also going to grow Yard Long, but they'll be spread on the other side of my garden far away from the others.
Great information, I did not know there were different types of cucumbers that you could grow for massive fruit .Thank you so much you helped me out a lot. Small Gardner.
I just received the Beit Alpha seeds from baker creek. Excited to try them. Going to plant the seeds in 10 gallon fabric bags. Thanks for the information
I know your struggle. I'm just as bad and it's extended into fruit trees, too. Of all the "aholics" to be, I decided this is the healthiest, so I choose this addiction!
Great information. It is pronounced 'bait' and was named after the kibbutz where it was developed. If you have lots of produce sometimes a local food pantry will accept them. I've had better luck with smaller ones (sometimes associated with religious organizations) rather than a big food bank. This is the first of your videos I've seen and you gave clear, concise info and have a good presentation but to be honest, I'm subscribing because you kissed your dog. That is enough to tell me you're worth watching.
Diane Ladico ...I, too, am seeing this fellow for the first time, agree that he is wonderfully informative and the “clincher” for my subscribing was that smooch to the pooch! 💕👌
My First year growing cucumbers not sure what kind they are but tons of flowers and so far many baby cucumbers that are growing and so far have pick 2 that have grown to 6/7 inches and have 3 more that i can pick soon. I Loved your video and looking forward to watching more I have 2 pumpkin plants tons of flowers but no fruit yet but i am hoping that will happen. Thanks so much your video is very helpful will look for more
Thanks great. Remember to pick cucumbers when they're small - pick them early and often. The more often you pick them, the more the plants will produce. Don't let them get big and start to turn yellow or the plants will quit. Thanks for watching!
From Jonny's seeds cucumber guide I get the impression that it's ok for parthenocapic varieties to be pollinated. They produce seedless fruit if unpollinated and will produce seeds if pollinated. Seeds might be undesirable, but I don't think it would otherwise affect the fruit quality of that year, just later generations of the resulting hybrid. I haven't tested this yet though, so I may be wrong. Trying it this year :)
Seed won't grow true to the parent plant because of the added genetic material from the pollination. The harvest is great but you have to buy new seeds every year.
This was so helpful!! I have two healthy muncher cucumber plants and two lemon cuke plants but no fruit! It’s so frustrating! I’ll have to check this variety out 👍🏼
Don't use pesticides on your lawn, stop pulling dandelions, plant clover in your lawn, buy a few butterfly bushes, and other flowers that attract pollinators. I have raised lemon cukes and although they are not the most productive, they are SO tasty with a thin skin and small size that is perfect. How many times have you used half a cuke only for it to rot in the fridge? Not an issue with lemon cukes.. They are my favorite variety.
I haven't seen truly parthenocarpic varieties, but Costata Romanesco has shown to be able to self-pollinate with some success. It's working well for me this season.
Check to see if they're male or female flowers. The flowers may be male. The female flowers will have a baby cucumber attached to them. You can transfer flowers from the standalone male flowers to the flower on the tip of the baby cucumber fruit with a mascara brush, blush brush or q-tip and manually hand pollinate them that way.
Thank you so much for all the information you gave us about growing the cucumber, I ve been planting cucumbers and tomatoes for years not knowing most of these great infos! The best video about cucumbers on the UA-cam.👍🏻🌸🤗
I enjoyed your info about growing cucumbers. I live in Los Angeles, and there're lots of Persian populations living in L.A. I always go to the Persian market to get Persian cucumbers, they're so crispy, delicious and yummy. It's has been a few years that they sell them at most grocery stores, I've used it for salads and sandwiches, I also eat it unpeels with salt.
The great thing about this variety is you don't have to spend the time hand pollinating. The downside is it's the only type you can grow in proximity, so if you like growing many varieties it's a bit of a bummer. To me, this variety is the best I've tasted and I have no need for others, but if you like growing pickling types as well, it's a downside.
@@TheMillennialGardener there are pickling types also. "county fair" is 1 but I havent tried it so cant recommend yet. I read about a gourmet french variety also. It was probably from baker creek.
On your recommendation for Beit Alpha cucumbers for zone 8a I planted some for a late crop. I'm even more excited about them after this video. Thank you so much for how informative your videos are. God bless you.
Thanks for the information I never knew about the female/male ratio. I just bought 2 pks of parthenocarpic seeds from Amazon can't wait to see the difference in my yield!!
I learned something new here. I didn't know there were differently pollinated Cucumbers. I have the Beit Alpha ones just starting. I didn't know not to have another type of Cucumber in the same yard. Ill have to decide what to do now.
You can grow more than one variety, but you'll want to space them on opposite ends of your garden as far from each other as possible. Try to get at least 30 feet, but more is better. If you cannot achieve a large spacing, simply cover the plant in insect netting or light agricultural fabric. If you can keep bees out of the flower using fabric or cloth, there will be no risk of cross-pollination. Also, if you're only growing parthenocarpic varieties that only have female flowers, then you can grow whatever you want because there will be no male flowers to pollinate, so no worries!
Omg! This was so informative. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Im new to this gardening thing. Container Gardening this year. Wish me luck! Thanks again.
I'm glad to hear it was helpful! Cucumbers are a vine, so if you're container gardening, you'll need to find a way to grow this up a trellis. You'll probably need at least a 6-8 ft tall trellis. You can grow cucumbers on the ground, but they tend to have a lot of pest and disease pressure when you let the vines sprawl all over the ground, especially if you get a lot of rain. If you do decide to grow them on the ground, I recommend letting them sprawl on a weed barrier like I did with my watermelon in this video: ua-cam.com/video/1Ad8TJ-MsqE/v-deo.html The weed barrier helps prevent pests and disease by keeping them off the dirt.
I would advise against that. A 5 gallon bucket is too small for an indeterminate tomato in my experience. They demand too much water and dry out too quickly in the heat of the summer. A 5 gallon bucket is ok for a determinate or dwarf tomato, though. It will be too small for both a cucumber and tomato plant. I recommend #7 grow bags for determinate and dwarf tomatoes and #20 grow bags for indeterminate tomatoes. If you want to grow a tomato and cucumber in one bag, you may want to look at #25 grow bag.
Ive been growing beit alpha for 2 seasons. Last year was great. This year, the black birds picked out all but one plant. But that one plant is doing great!
Cucumbers germinate in about 3-4 days and will begin to produce in 45-60 days depending on how hot your summers are. I already have my third crop started in pots. So yes, you'll probably be fine. Give it a shot!

@@daphnemitchell7817
Here’s the recipe for 1 QUART. I usually multiply it since we make so many. You can use cucumber spears or slices. You can leave out the crushed red pepper if you don’t like spicy stuff. They’re not hot just a little warm after you eat a few.
Boil:
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup water
1 1/2 Tbs kosher or canning salt
In jar place:
2 tsp dill weed
2 tsp red pepper flakes (if desired)
2 cloves of garlic or 2 tsp minced garlic
2 sprigs of fresh dill
Fill jar with cucumber spears or slices.
Many thanks, John. Best wishes from Australia.
For prevention of powdery mildew, use 2-1/2 cups whole milk per gallon of water. Spray all plants that are susceptible to powdery mildew once per week. This has worked better for me than anything else I have ever tried!
Thank you so much. I live in Oregon. Powdery mildew is crazy here
Do you spray the whole plant with it, or just the root? Thanks in advance, this is my first year gardening 😁
I love that you gave your dog a kiss. As you should. . .
Dale deserves all the kisses! He is the best. Thanks for watching!
@@TheMillennialGardener It’s a pleasure watching you and I learned new things. I’ve been vegetable gardening since I could toddle around after my grandparents in their garden, 65 years, so that’s saying something. I ordered the type of cucumber seeds you recommended. I usually grow cucumbers on a trellis and hand pollinate. Hopefully I’ll save some effort and have a good harvest to boot. Thank you. Hugs to Dale.
To each his own!
You mean, right after the dog licks his privates? Yikes.
Where can I buy seeds
@@earlroger6444 I buy mine from a local farm shop but I have seen them for sale on ebay.
"snack on them"😅
I grow the passandra cucumbers.
Get a juicer... cucumber juice is extremely healthy. Or make "cukado" soup, which is a cold soup made of avocado cucumber and dill. Love this video. I'm growing these next year!
Thanks for watching!
Hey man....I've grown them for 3 years now and I had no idea that they did not need pollinating. How cool is that and yo yo happy boy here for sure now other. I knew I've started watching your channel for a reason thank you man.
That is fascinating about the Beit Alpha needing to be grown w/o any other companion varieties! I grew them 2 yeas ago and they were fantastic, everything you said! Last year I decided to grow some pickling cukes as well... only I didn’t know why my Beit Alphas were a disaster!!! Now I do! I wish that info was on the seed packet, thanks!!!
These parthenocarpic varieties are game-changers. Thanks for watching!
what caused your Beits to not perform well?
It’s not that they don’t grow- but rather that you’ll have far more wilting babies, so the production goes down drastically.
Thank you for this valuable information about cucumbers. I had never heard of an all female cucumber plant. Now I know. I just ordered 3 packets of seeds. Thank you.
I’ve been watching your channel for several years now, and I love Dale just like everyone else.
I know when I watch your videos I'll be learning something new! 😊
I'll have to add these to my garden next season, I do love cucumbers!
Thanks for sharing and be well! 🌞
I'm glad you found it enjoyable. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much. You have excellent explanation for growing cucumbers. I have never seen such an awesome instruction for growing these cuke varieties. May Allah SWT bless me and You with healthy benefits of these cucumbers who created these plants. Ameen. Mubeen Quadri.
I know I'm watching this 2 hrs after you recorded it but it still applies. When you have too much viable food either sell it at a farmers market or donate it to a local food pantry, god knows there are a lot of people in need these days who would enjoy your excess fruits and veggies
Thank you for telling me I had a problem grown cucumbers but I’m gonna buy those seats right now
Did you have luck with them?
My Chinese mum in law showed me how to take the bitterness out of a cucumber. Slice the end off and rub the cut sides together. A light sap will start to develop. Rinse off the sap and use.
That's very interesting.
I grew Beit Alpha last year for the first time and everything @themillenialgardener said is true. From 1 plant, I had 60+ cucumbers. It didn’t get powdery mildew until close to the end of the season and it still kept producing. I’m growing again this year.
Thank you! I still don't have any powdery mildew. Usually, my plants are dead by now. They're still cranking!
Where do you find the bait alpha cucumbers? I can find them in any nursery! Can you please tell me where you purchased yours?
nell son I purchased mine from MI Gardener (www.migardener.com) last year
Hegat causes back pain and how to get relief
@@nellson6951 I show the information at 5:30. Mine are from Baker Creek, but a Google search will return many vendors. This isn't a variety you'll find at nurseries. You'll need to grow them from seed.
(Tasty green from botanical interests. Beit alpha from baker creek).
Thank you for the tip on these cucumbers. We've already harvested more so far this year than all of last season and still have at least a hundred flowers on our plants. Thank you very much.
Glad to hear you enjoy them. The flavor is FANTASTIC, too. It's the crunchiest, mildest cucumber I've ever had.
I've watched a of you-tube and I'm sure some probably mentioned Beit Alpha needs to be isolated in passing or something, but since you went into great detail, if finally sunk in. An awesome excuse to make another garden bed in another area of the property 💚❤️💚
It's always a good idea to expand the garden 😀 Thanks for watching!
Hello how do I get the seeds

Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful.
So excited to watch these grow I’m going to keep these in the greenhouse and put the other varieties in main garden Thanks for the tips NC based too;)
I had no idea about the types of pollinating cucumbers! Learn something new everyday.
I am interested in these cucumbers, mostly for eating & picking, can any pickle recipe be used .thank you very helpful
Thank you for this video .. twice I have planted cucumber and both have been failures .. now I know why. This is a very good teaching video .. many thanks and if I lived near you, I’d relieve you of some of those delicious cucumbers. But I think Australia is a bit far away. 🌻
Thank you so much for years I've grown cucumbers and never really have watch a video to learn more about since I thought it was straightforward
I thought that it was normal for when I picked a cucumber to the whole plant to die
I usually grow a lot of plants to get more cucumbers and they all die after I pickup one cucumber
Now I know that I needed to pick them up earlier before they go to seed
I'm glad it was helpful! Yes, the secret to growing cucumbers is to harvest them early and often, and NEVER let them get large or turn yellow. Once the cucumber plant thinks it made mature seed, it dies back, so picking all your cucumbers when they're young and small has the cucumber plant desperately forcing its energy into fruit production to make mature seed. You're tricking the plant into over-producing, and cucumbers taste best when young and crisp, anyway! Thanks for watching.
Thanks so much for sharing. I am inspired! I am going to try the cucumber. It's my first time at gardening but I love cucumbers!
The last two years my cucumber yield has been pathetic. I now know why. I just put my garden in today but next year I will use the variety that you have recommended. I would love for you to do a video on planting seeds. You have given me some hope. Thank you for that!
I have a video on how I start my seeds here: ua-cam.com/video/yIm81g4OCOw/v-deo.html

Thanks for the information! I just read the comments and saw where you said we can protect the Beit Alpha by covering them with insect netting so the bees can't pollinate them. That's BRILLIANT ADVICE!!! That's exactly what I'm going to do!!
As long as you keep pollinators out of the flowers, they won't cross-pollinate. Agfabric sells large lengths of insect netting for low prices.
I'm intrigued! Thank you for your unselfishness to share your wealth of knowledge about Gardening.....Bravo! Tfs...BA..

Very eloquent presentation. Thank you, very informative. And you love your dog, sweet!🌸
Thank you, I appreciate that. Dale is my best buddy. Thanks for watching!
When I was a wee lad we grew acres of pickling cukes to sell to the Del Monte people and we never worried about fruit set. Now I know why. Thanks for clearing up a 60 year old mystery I had.
I was at the farm today trying to remember the name of the type of zucchini that only grow female flowers and you answered it in the video. Thank you!
Ok, went back to try & find which zucchini it is...Uncle! I give up, what is it?
@@msmarygardner well he didn't say it was a zucchini he actually talked about cucumbers but since they are in the same family its not out of the realm of possibility that zucchini could produce only female blossoms. One of my helpers at the farm was talking about it as though he had seen them before. I took his word for it and although he didn't remember the name, I happened to watch this video later that day and here the expert discussed the exact thing. 😊
All this while I was wondering about cucumber pollination in Greenhouse. This video explains everything I need to know about cucumber. Thanks.

Wow! I didn't know about parthenocarpic cucumbers. But, since I live in Israel, I'm happy to learn that the Beit Alfa variety is parthenocarpic! BTW, the Beit is pronounced like English "bait."
Beit Alpha is, by far, the best cucumber I've ever tasted. It is WONDERFUL. Thanks for watching!
Your a great speaker! Lots of knowledge!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching.
I was thinking that I would plant the biet alpha opposite side of my garden. That would be about 60 ft from the other cukes. Would that be enough?
Great information, I did not know there were different types of cucumbers that you could grow for massive fruit .Thank you so much you helped me out a lot. Small Gardner.

I just received the Beit Alpha seeds from baker creek. Excited to try them. Going to plant the seeds in 10 gallon fabric bags. Thanks for the information

Great information. It is pronounced 'bait' and was named after the kibbutz where it was developed.
If you have lots of produce sometimes a local food pantry will accept them. I've had better luck with smaller ones (sometimes associated with religious organizations) rather than a big food bank.

Thanks so much your video is very helpful will look for more
Thanks great. Remember to pick cucumbers when they're small - pick them early and often. The more often you pick them, the more the plants will produce. Don't let them get big and start to turn yellow or the plants will quit. Thanks for watching!
Food pantries are an alternative when your neighborhood has had enough
I appreciate your clear explanations for botanical systems, very useful!
Nice video! I’m in zone 7a, N.J. I get my parthenocarpic cucumber seeds from Johnny’s Selected Seeds. Nice yield.
This was so helpful!! I have two healthy muncher cucumber plants and two lemon cuke plants but no fruit! It’s so frustrating! I’ll have to check this variety out 👍🏼
You'll enjoy the productivity of this variety. Thanks for watching!
You could look also into getting some Leafcutter bees. Super easy to take care of and great pollinators :)
Excellent and detailed video. I will certainly take your advice and plant the Beit Alpha cucumber variety.
Could you make a video recommending the best self pollinating plants. Is there a zucchini variety?
I haven't seen truly parthenocarpic varieties, but Costata Romanesco has shown to be able to self-pollinate with some success. It's working well for me this season.

Where do I purchase seeds from
Thank you for answering my cucumber questions! Hundreds of blossoms on 6 plants and ive only grown one cucumber. Next year !

I enjoyed your info about growing cucumbers. I live in Los Angeles, and there're lots of Persian populations living in L.A. I always go to the Persian market to get Persian cucumbers, they're so crispy, delicious and yummy. Whenever I see a female flower, I make sure it gets pollinated! I don't let them go to waste!
@@jeil5676 be careful that male flowers from another type don’t pollinate the parthenocarpic types. You’ll want to keep them as far apart as possible.

Thanks for the information I never knew about the female/male ratio. I just bought 2 pks of parthenocarpic seeds from Amazon can't wait to see the difference in my yield!!
Sounds great! Just be careful to not place cucumbers with male flowers too closely. They taste best without pollination. Thank you for watching!
Thank you I'm growing English cucumbers and 2 heirloom pickling. Cucumbers but will get these next season love gardening

Happy to help! Thanks for watching!
If you do decide to grow them on the ground, I recommend letting them sprawl on a weed barrier like I did with my watermelon in this video: ua-cam.com/video/1Ad8TJ-MsqE/v-deo.html
The weed barrier helps prevent pests and disease by keeping them off the dirt.
Thank you, I found the cucumber seeds on Amazon. I often wonder if a cucumber and a tomato plant will grow together in a 5 gallon bucket.

It's a great cucumber. You may want to try bird netting or insect netting to cover them. It's really inexpensive and can prevent that.
I live in zone 5, is it too late to plant these seeds, I just ordered them. Thx 🙏
Cucumbers germinate in about 3-4 days and will begin to produce in 45-60 days depending on how hot your summers are. I already have my third crop started in pots. So yes, you'll probably be fine. Give it a shot!
Are there any such seeds for squashes? That would really make my day!!!
