This was our first amazing commission for Project One More Level, our effort to archive, preserve, and celebrate a handpicked selection of flash games. The end goal is to get a physical device sent to the University of Michigan's Computer and Video Game Archive, where it (And the games loaded on it) will remain free and open to the public indefinitely. We'll be uploading extended versions of this theme on our channel later today, as well as a video using it that will go into more detail about the Project itself. We also have a website and Discord channel if you want more info or to talk to us, as well as a Patreon if you want to donate to the cause- all links are on our profile. Stay tuned for more!
@@sbrl We're definitely a bit smaller, heh. Flashpoint is user-oriented, with a huge number of flash games meant to be played by the user that downloads it. Project OML is a museum piece. It has a much smaller game pool, but we're also attempting to contact and interview the original creators of the games, as well as providing a detailed objective breakdown of the game and its mechanics. Flashpoint is also completely virtual, relying on the user to find it and download it themself, while Project OML will be almost the opposite- loaded onto a dedicated machine that will then be disconnected from the Internet once the project is fully loaded onto us. You can find our website on our UA-cam channel (Or you should be able to). We're working on getting our website to show up on Google itself, so hopefully that'll be fixed before too long.
"18 seconds ago", no views and the thumbnail isn't even uploaded. Well, that's not enough to stop me from coming to listen. (And I wasn't disappointed !)
@@memrr3843 No. Flash isn't dead. You can still use it just fine. You either need a browser that is outdated or that still supports older plugins like flash player There is also the third option of downloading the flash files and running it with flash player projector locally. Personally I use Waterfox Classic for using flash in the web and every flash game I want to play just works. Just beware to not go to suspicious sites with flash player enabled, there is a reason it's not being supported anymore after all.
Amazing remaster, reminds me of what this song always used to sound like to me. The instruments all hit just right, like one was about to embark on some epic adventure. Bonus points for actually making it loop cleanly instead of just ending and starting over like in the original.
I didn't play a lot of Flash games as a kid, much less this specific one. But please let Three Beat Games know that their preservation effort is commendable. ^_^ I've always thought that more effort and resources should be put into preserving video games, anyway. They're a HUGE part of the pop culture of our generation.
Oh Boy, that sounds nice. I enjoy your Remasters, but I feel like your own compositions are special. I like the a lot and it always makes my day to find another one

Hey, cool! I can't find anything about you online through some causal searching though. How does your project compare with BlueMaxima's Flashpoint?

OMG that's so awesome
I wish OML the best. It was a sad day when Adobe Flash Player was shut down.
@@alphabladelm2011 Thank you. We definitely echo the sentiment as well. :)
Nitrome is a goldmine of good game music. I'm glad you're covering this. The Hot Air 2 menu theme next please!

I have a confession to make: I have never heard of Nitrome until now. I wish I heard about it earlier if it meant I could hear this fantastic music.
Same here, I'm going to try to play it sometime.
too late, Flash now has died and we cant play Steamlands anymore
No worries, now the site has an integrated player you can download to play the games once again. Some of them don't work but Steamlands does.

This game was very difficult, hope someone preserves this good flash games.

this brings back so many memories with this game, had a blast build and blowing up steam-powered war machines

Ok, if i see Toxic, Bad Ice Cream or Mega Mash here in the future, i'm going nuts
Mega Mash had a gorgeous retro soundtrack! I do hope they get the same treatment as Steamlands here.
Wow, cool! I totally didn't see this coming!

I love that little electric guitar, it's really clean! Changes from your usual work but I guess every music you remaster turns gold.
Oh Boy, that sounds nice.
