Hey! So I know you've probably heard this from other people already but catching up to the current story may take ... up to a year depending on how much/often you play. The main story alone without doing anything else is around 150 hours, there's 600+ hours of side-quests, world quests, companion quests etc. and if you ever attempt to 100% the entire world of Genshin (find every chests, complete every puzzle etc.) this could be up to 1000 hours just for the exploration. Genshin is one of the biggest game in history in terms of quantity and quality of content.
Keep in mind, most of the events featured in version trailers are time-limited to within that versions timeframe. So, outside of stuff like characters, weapons, TCG, that won't be available to experience outside of watching it on youtube.
There are no loading screens if you are just walking around, unless you teleport or enter a dungeon. and there are no oxigem bars, you get a power to dive, but only works in fontaine (most of the region is underwater). and most of trailer and everything is in game footage, so animals and eveything is there.
Do note that most of these trailers are in the past. So some of these stuff won't be coming back. The same goes with the limited event story, limited mini game, limited free stuffs and weapons, and limited map to explore. So the moment you start playing, you'll experience the current patch(5.3) event stuff and all the permanent content and stories they've added from 1.0 to 5.3.
20:20 Other than Inazuma, and small areas in Sumeru, Fontaine, and Natlan, everywhere is accessible without going through the quest. There is also no "loading screen" when you are travelling by foot. Loading screen only appears when you use the teleport waypoint.
If you like exploring and lore then Genshin is the game for you, a lot of the game's lore is found in readables in game either books than you cam collect or scattered notes/stone tablets etc you'll come across as you explore its so rewarding because often if you put it together you end up discovering crucial world building pieces that makes it so much cooler and sometimes it only gets confirmed in main quests months or even years later! Its one of my favourite thing about the game easily, exploring and doing world quests (as the name suggest they often build the world lol) sometimes even more than the main story!
there are atleast 1000 hours ingame if you're really into *everything* the game can offer (especially if you like exploration and lore collecting) and the game is STILL adding content. For context, i know this for a fact since ive recently been following this one CC who only started last year and have been uploading atleast 2-4 hrs of content almost every other day. He's currently at 800 hours, without 100%-ing map, not much teapot (house building), tcg, not all of the story quests, without much lore reading and collecting achievements, no endgame, nor the new music game. (i forgot to add, there are also events too that he didnt do) It can get super overwhelming, but just go at your own pace. If you get burnt out (which is pretty easy to do with a game as big as this) you can easily put it down and come back to it when you want to, and early game characters are very much viable in endgame still. edit: i cant even reply to the person that commente bc youtube. But why would i lie about these things? go check roamer's channel. Something to note is practically most of the events you saw in the version trailers were available for JUST those versions, so you won't see a good number of events when you eventually start playing 😭
You can definitely go to most nations just by traveling/walking/climbing, there's only really one exception, which you can't directly go to (for a while) due to story reasons. Some people actually even made timelapse videos of walking from one Nation to another, so that's definitely not a problem. You can also fully explore the underwater section of Fontaine at your own leisure, no oxygen or anything. if you are interested some characters who havent had trailers or demos have gameplay videos called collected miscellany which summarizes each characters kit and mechanics. Two for instance are Diluc (red haired male who swings a fire phoniex for his ult) and jean ( tall blonde female whose seen with klee and wields a sword wind element). I believe a handful of 4 stars on release had no demo or vids (xinqiu, chongyun, ningguang, noelle, barbara, bennett, razor) but theres hangouts and quests to meet and trial them!
just a note so you know but all of the regions are explorable after after beginning the game except for Inazuma. That's the only region thats quest locked since it's an island nation (to match the Japanese aesthetic). You can walk to any of the other regions regardless of how much you have progressed the story but Inazuma is inaccessible until you reach the Inazuma portion of the story.
There were some quests that were temporary, like the first event wanderer showed up in, both albedo events, etc. you can’t play these in the game anymore, so if you wanted you could react to all those cutscenes since they won’t really spoil anything!
I got so excited seeing this in my notifications! I enjoy seeing how invested and excited you are and I knew this would be a great video. Thank you! I'm really looking forward to you playing this game!
I love watching these as 1. I get to see people’s reactions to it obviously and 2. Just watching back what I’ve went through in the journey. The nostalgia… Great video man. Cheers!🍻
fyi all of the events that appear at the end of every version trailer you can’t do anymore. once it happens & passes, you can’t ever do it again cause they’re limited events that only take place during the specific version update. the only event that does come back is lantern rite, but it’s not really the exact same since they change up the story/plot of it every year. so if you were to play the game, you’d experience the events that are currently out atm which is 5.3
Great video. Everyone already said you missed 5.1 and 5.2. If you want, you can also react to the 3 gamescom gameplay trailers to increase the video duration.
55:07 when it was first released, dragonspine was quite difficult to explore because of the area debuff. I got panicky in a lot of times there 😅 but it’s a fun area to explore.
@@AditBasu Being entertaining is a very important criteria of deeming a story to be 'good'. If it didn't hook your attention, it objectively was a bad story for you. You don't have to contradict yourself
"Peak Genshin" and you just mean act 5. Acts 3 and 4 were notorious for being dull until the payoff with the Neuvilette cutscene, Sumeru had good storytelling all throughout and every act built upon each other until the climax of act 5, and overall beats Fontaine in terms of story writing and character relationship building. Natlan itself is great as well. People just like to hate it because it's more focused on the nation itself rather than the characters, and they don't like that. That fight scene with Gosoythoth was way better than the fight with the whale. So yeah, like the others said, "it depends"
Yes, once you have a musical instrument (there are multiple) you can equip it and play anything that the available keys allow. You can literally join someone else's world just to rickroll them.
Lantern Rite is an annual event that is actual going to start in a couple weeks. They always give out a free 4* character during the event (some of them are brokenly useful). The world is basically open without loading screens aside from most interior spaces like buildings, dungeons, etc. There are a few very large underground areas that require a loading screen.
Honestly, Genshin is a game that pays off if you go in blind... But knowing the community, backseating and spoiling is inevitable... It is kinda sad... On another note, there are characters who don't have trailers : Diluc (the guy with the greatsword phoenix), Lisa (violet witch librarian), Jean (the one who always solitary confines Klee), Razor (wolf boi), Sucrose (shy glasses girl), Bennett (uhh unlucky boy), Amber (best Outrider), Xingqiu (water boy), Chongyun (ice boi), Noelle (the Maple [from Bofuri] of this game), Barbara (the idol nun) and Ningguang (you saw her on the Travail video)...
The stuff they showed at the end of most of the trailers are past events that are no longer available so you won’t be able to experience most of them, Arlecchino is coming very soon for a rerun and I HIGHLY recommend getting her and her specific weapon, Crimson Moon’s Semblance, does turn into a scythe. Fun fact, Mavuika’s Japanese VA is married to Zhongli’s Japanese VA so in reality, two archons are husband and wife
It's fine that you didn't look at all the minigames and stuff, as many of them were limited-time events anyways. There's always a few events with every new version so these minigames come and go. You can "mix and match" weapons. There's 3*, 4* and 5* rarities, but you can equip any rarity on any character as long as it's the fitting weapon type (there's sword, claymore, catalyst, bow and polearm). There's 5* weapons that are the signature weapon of a certain 5* character, but you can still use them on a different character and most weapons are useful for many different characters anyways. And yes, in Fontaine you can explore underwater. No oxygen bar, you can just vibe underwater for hours if you want to. Which, there's quite a big underwater area to explore, it's really fun. It's my favourite region in general at this point, because i found the trailers done spectacularly to build the suspense, and the actual main quest and the characters were written so well, especially the last part had me on the edge of my seat.
Oh you're gonna have a fun time playing around with the elements in team comps! Yes, characters may have their preferred team and playstyle, but there's soooo many ways to build your team even without following those. I hope you enjoy your playthrough of the game!
Fontaine's story is so peak... Don't get me wrong, Natlan isn't bad but imo doesn't really come close to that (nor it reaches Sumeru's story either, i think). And the underwater exploration is amazing (not to mention Furina is one of the best written characters in the game, if not straight up the best one). Also, one thing: Arlecchino is pronounced with an hard "k" sound (it's italian, from la commedia dell'arte). It sounds more like "Arlekkino".
You can only fast travel to a place after you have first traveled to that location by yourself. The only time the situation where "get on a boat to go somewhere" happens is when you unlock Inazuma. After that first cutscene of literally getting on a boat to go there you can choose any other method to reach the islands. It just makes more sense to fast travel to Inazuma after it's been unlocked, though, because there is a literal ocean between it and the other nations and so would be extremely tedious and all around boring to travel there "on foot". Any other location behind a loading screen is just walking through doors/portals and not really skipping over *getting* there.
There is a video series known as "Collected Miscellany". You can watch them to learn more about that character's in-game abilities and their specific lore. As they're longer videos, this may be done in 3-4 parts.
Generally yes, the entire world is open for exploration! 😁 At the start of the game you are briefly locked into the tutorial zone, but that only takes a few levels and after that you are free to walk anywhere you want! There are a few locations that are initially quest-locked (like, the game will tell you "oh this is getting too foggy, better retreat!" if you try to go there before clearing the fog, that kind of thing) but after unlocking them you can literally just walk/swim/fly there, it's not instanced or anything :)
I feel like the large youtube community focus on abyss content and pure combat misses 90% of the game which is exploration and appreciating the regions. I guess it doesn't make a good video. Great reaction vids btw! Doing a great job!
Welcome to Hoyoverse (Genshin, Honkai Star rail, Honkai impact 3rd and Zenless zone zero). Awesome Genshin trailer reaction. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to watch your Genshin playthrough.
What’s interesting is that, the first trailer is the only Genshin official content that features Lumine as the as the Traveler. Everything else has Aether
So most of the lantern rite, windblum then summer island are limited events. Once missed they cant be played again. As well as the rewards from them. Skins you can buy with real money later on but event weapons are gone forever. But that won't decrease the fun of the game dont worry. Most places are available. Along side the main story there are world quests that explore those places. I'll recommend prioritizing the main story first and vatch up to v5.3 . Also get mavuika is available rn for about 2 more weeks. Once shes gone, she won't return for another year
Dont worry bro. You're free to do any kind of exploration you want. Its totally a Free roam world. No Loading Screen per Area. Except those of the map, like Enkanomiya and Chasm underground.
also its fine if you even do get spoiled in the trailers because i guarantee you will either not understand or remember and wont even make the connections while you are playing the story yourself since your whole view changes once you get immersed into the world and slowly learn the lore. also alot of the events are limited time so some stories you can only watch on youtube but theres loads of permanent content each new patch so you'll have lots to do! theres fishing, card games, housing, theres undersea exploration as well! i was hoping you'd stop at some of the footage in some of the event notes at the end since theres trials to do underwater while you were skimming but dont worry you'll be able to teleport there and immediately dive in yourself since they add some waypoints accessible for new players now so they can farm materials in further regions since ppl used to get locked out bc of low adventure rank lol!
Keep in mind that while you will play through the quests featured in these trailers, the events shown at the end are ling gone & cannot be experienced, nor can you attain any associated weapons. Unless Hoyo finally bend to our will & allow newer players access to older events & rewards as a one-off access pass.
btw arlecchino will be obtainable in 10 days for 21 days if u really wanna get her

You can walk to any of the other regions regardless of how much you have progressed the story but Inazuma is inaccessible until you reach the Inazuma portion of the story.
u missed ver 5.1 and 5.2
I literally squeaked seeing this! I found you through this and have been binging your AOT reactions too! I’m glad I’ve found your channel!
If you want to get Arlecchino her banner will start in ~ 2 weeks
There were some quests that were temporary, like the first event wanderer showed up in, both albedo events, etc. you can’t play these in the game anymore, so if you wanted you could react to all those cutscenes since they won’t really spoil anything!
I got so excited seeing this in my notifications! I enjoy seeing how invested and excited you are and I knew this would be a great video.
Thank you!
I'm really looking forward to you playing this game!
Everything you see in these trailers is in the game.
"Venti chilling" is an understatement honestly XD
I love watching these as 1. I get to see people’s reactions to it obviously and 2. Just watching back what I’ve went through in the journey. The nostalgia…
Great video man. Cheers!🍻
Just as u said, Fontaine is indeed peak cinema.
yes, you can explore everything underwater in fontaine
fyi all of the events that appear at the end of every version trailer you can’t do anymore. once it happens & passes, you can’t ever do it again cause they’re limited events that only take place during the specific version update. the only event that does come back is lantern rite, but it’s not really the exact same since they change up the story/plot of it every year. so if you were to play the game, you’d experience the events that are currently out atm which is 5.3
Great video. Everyone already said you missed 5.1 and 5.2. If you want, you can also react to the 3 gamescom gameplay trailers to increase the video duration.
You should start playing this week. Arlechinno will be available in 10 Days. Goodluck
55:07 when it was first released, dragonspine was quite difficult to explore because of the area debuff. I got panicky in a lot of times there 😅 but it’s a fun area to explore.
Genshin's story has its up and downs, especially early on, but Fontaine is legit one of the best stories in any video game.
Fontaine is pretty good, not as good as Sumeru but both of them are the peak of Genshin.
@@AditBasu bro played Sumeru with his eyes closed
@@AditBasu I feel like that kinda contradicts itself, but that's okay, not everyone can have good taste ig
@@AditBasu Being entertaining is a very important criteria of deeming a story to be 'good'. If it didn't hook your attention, it objectively was a bad story for you. You don't have to contradict yourself
@@idkatthispoint-s9s ok ok leave me alone man
you gotta react to all the animated cutscenes
Arle turns every weapon she wields into a scythe but the effect isn't as pronounced as it is with her signature weapon.
2:13:25
As someone who caught up with the genshin story , i can confirm fontaine is peak genshin
depends.
I haven't played since 2022, right before Sumeru came out, but Inazuma was my favourite then. Time to get back on
Really depends
"Peak Genshin" and you just mean act 5. Acts 3 and 4 were notorious for being dull until the payoff with the Neuvilette cutscene,
Sumeru had good storytelling all throughout and every act built upon each other until the climax of act 5, and overall beats Fontaine in terms of story writing and character relationship building. Natlan itself is great as well. People just like to hate it because it's more focused on the nation itself rather than the characters, and they don't like that. That fight scene with Gosoythoth was way better than the fight with the whale.
So yeah, like the others said, "it depends"
You will be able to pull for Arlecchino in about 10 days so don't miss it
Yes, once you have a musical instrument (there are multiple) you can equip it and play anything that the available keys allow.
You should also react to ZENLESS ZONE ZERO
Peak zone zero
19:23 "can I choose right now?" actually, yes you can
Honestly, the 1.5 Serenitea Pot was the best feature added to Genshin, I've been pleased to build a whole new home in it with each update. 👷
Great reaction! love it! Btw you really should check out genshin orchestra preview for regions. They're sooooo cool
You skipped trailers 5.1 and 5.2
Fontaine's story is so peak...
So far, Fontain is just beyond greatness
The wanderer thing, there’s no evil and good wanderer. He was just in his “redemption” arc
Thank you for being this quick
You can only fast travel to a place after you have first traveled to that location by yourself. The only time the situation where "get on a boat to go somewhere" happens is when you unlock Inazuma. After that first cutscene of literally getting on a boat to go there you can choose any other method to reach the islands. It just makes more sense to fast travel to Inazuma after it's been unlocked, though, because there is a literal ocean between it and the other nations and so would be extremely tedious and all around boring to travel there "on foot". Any other location behind a loading screen is just walking through doors/portals and not really skipping over *getting* there.
Oh, you've missed 5.1 and 5.2 trailers 😅
As someone that’s been playing since 1.1 Natlan has been PEAK!
There is a video series known as "Collected Miscellany". You can watch them to learn more about that character's in-game abilities and their specific lore. As they're longer videos, this may be done in 3-4 parts.
I don't think it's necessary at all, I think he should watch these after he gets a character but there's absolutely no need to watch all ~100 of them
Yeah it's a bit too much
Generally yes, the entire world is open for exploration! 😁
At the start of the game you are briefly locked into the tutorial zone, but that only takes a few levels and after that you are free to walk anywhere you want! There are a few locations that are initially quest-locked (like, the game will tell you "oh this is getting too foggy, better retreat!" if you try to go there before clearing the fog, that kind of thing) but after unlocking them you can literally just walk/swim/fly there, it's not instanced or anything :)
20:13 yeah bro genshin have teleport waypoint (fast travel)
Been waiting for this
"CAN WE PLAY AS HIM?!?!" god we hope so... all of us want him so bad
Once shes gone, she won't return for another year
She gets a rerun a couple of patches after her initial debut, its like that for all the Archons
Been waiting for thid❤🎉😂
29:10 new teapot main confirmed :D
Niceee yes, the game is every u expect, however when are you having a gameplay?
Nostalgia hitting me hard, starting from 1.0 😭
Yep you can walk from, say mondtadt to liyue, and fom liyue to sumeru etc
Hopefully you would react to genshin impact collected misscelany to...
Dont worry bro. You're free to do any kind of exploration you want. Its totally a Free roam world. No Loading Screen per Area. Except those of the map, like Enkanomiya and Chasm underground.
will there be the playthrough soon?
also its fine if you even do get spoiled in the trailers because i guarantee you will either not understand or remember and wont even make the connections while you are playing the story yourself since your whole view changes once you get immersed into the world and slowly learn the lore. also alot of the events are limited time so some stories you can only watch on youtube but theres loads of permanent content each new patch so you'll have lots to do! theres fishing, card games, housing, theres undersea exploration as well! i was hoping you'd stop at some of the footage in some of the event notes at the end since theres trials to do underwater while you were skimming but dont worry you'll be able to teleport there and immediately dive in yourself since they add some waypoints accessible for new players now so they can farm materials in further regions since ppl used to get locked out bc of low adventure rank lol!
It's a shame that some of the mini games and rewards can no longer be played and claim though
Did I miss something? You skipped over 5.1 and 5.2. Was that intentional for some reason? Regardless, your reactions are a treat to watch.
Yes, golems - like GolemCop XD Also, some companies nowadays are trying to make golems XDD
You missed 5.1 and 5.2
fontaine IS peak and so is furina!!! I love her lore sm
how can you skip trailer 5.1,5.2? while the trailer you just watched is 5.0 but suddenly jumps to 5.3, don't you feel strange?
You should play now because Arlecchino will be back in January 20!!
All the archon quests are really good, but Fontaine is the PEAKEST one by far.. the ending is absolutely heartbreaking.. 😭😭
Keep in mind that while you will play through the quests featured in these trailers, the events shown at the end are ling gone & cannot be experienced, nor can you attain any associated weapons. Unless Hoyo finally bend to our will & allow newer players access to older events & rewards as a one-off access pass.
bruh you missed ver 5.1, 5.2 trailer
No oxygen bar!! You also can't drown in Fontaine!
zhongli just had its rerun a patch ago so you must wait for him a bit... oh but arlechino comes back in a few days
5.1 and 5.2 ?*
you can get Arlecchino soon🥳
