Right on Maria, I love your work! I only discovered Zentangle about a year ago, and I love it, although That's how I've drawn forever 61 years now, just am learning to market my stuff. After July 2021, I am cured of terminal cancer. Social media is not easy. You inspire Me
I was fortunate enough to go through Rick and Maria’s CZT program. I found Rick and Maria to perfectly complement each other. I never viewed either of them interrupting each other, for me it was more like a couple so in sync with each other that they finish each other’s sentences. Their entire family is amazing. One of the best experiences of my life,
As a fairly new newbie to Zentangle I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video to get to know you better. I had to smile as your two poles sparked against each other: Maria's unstoppable energy and Rick's calming influence. Thank you both!
I've been watching this lovely couple's videos before. I have even bought some Zentangle kits and tried to draw some. I realized that I just have poor fine motor skills. However, this video has made me motivated again to try Zentangling again. I hope finally I will be able to produce something that at least can make me happier. Thanks, Maria and Rick.
I am a beginner and I have just watched some of the Apprentice classes that are for children. You might want to start with some of those to gain the fine motor skills. Remember perfection is not the goal, but having fun and relaxing while doing these.
I love Zentangles and would love to hear Maria tell her stories. You see her excitement and passion but Rick constantly interrupted her. Please Rick, let her talk. She is the artist, let her share her talent.
I have been looking for Maria Thomas for years! I was lucky enough to receive a copy of a print that she drew. It has been on my wall since 2020. I woul dlove to know where I can purchase any more prints of this extremely talented woman!

Such an excellent presentation. I’m a zentangler, not a teacher. I love the introduction to this museum. And i love hearing more of Rick and Maria’s story and their approach to the world.
Love hearing you’re presentation and all the amazing details you help all of us “notice” or become aware of... just floating around everywhere! Excellent surprise at the end! I loved the “he’s the Zen to my Tangle”!! Clever!!
I always thought your inspiration was Escher. My friend used to draw these amazing things all in a mix of patterns inspired by Escher. That was in 1980s
I'm a recently-obsessed "Tangler". For several years, I have made polymer clay jewelry, and taken a lot of inspiration from undersea/reef creatures. After a time away, I took a look at them this morning and saw so many Zentangles! Wonder if your imaginations have ever taken you there.
So true, since I went back to zentangle after nit having done it in some years, having done so as a child into my teenage years then not doing so as I became a young adult and life began happening I'd completely forgotten about it, I've now found myself taking one dose per day of my pain medication as opposed to 4 x a day and hope to someday not need it at all.✌🏽💙
When i was in 2nd class i found the book of Escher in the library i was so fasyneted about it that i began to draw a bit like him.Years later, the library sold old books and could buy the Escher-book for 10 euro's!!!I live in Belgium;East Flanders.I'm so happy that i discoverd Zentangle now.TYTY
I noticed comments complaining about interruptions, but please ... the interruptions went both ways: that's what happens when two passionate people who respect each other are doing a joint presentation! And almost always, the interjections added something rather than detracted.
Maria has such unbridled passion! It's a pity she is constantly interrupted by Rick. Zentangling is the best fun anyone can have with a pencil and paper.
I really like zentangles, and I would love to hear a presentation with just her. Since she's the artist, I would love to hear more from her. He seems to interrupt her speaking a lot, which I found annoying.
Apparently his name is first on their book. I get it… she’s the artist and he’s the business manager type. But he really needs to stop interrupting her. Serious trigger for all of us women that have had men talking over us and taking credit for our work. I do love how she breaks down the artwork into something that anyone can do.
I loved watching your presentation, and videos on doing zantangle. The the that you guys talk about and do, reminds me of doing as a kid all up through now, I always doodle draw lines, take lines to make, but then I dont at times, cuase, I got lost.., I also love spiral graph, and colors books. I use a drawing book pencils(drawing) or(color pencils) some pens or gel pens. I really would to learn more, some patterns I dont if they should be to, ect. I have done stuff before I seen, your, work. I was like omg, I just did that whatever it happens to be. Iam in Wisconsin. Where are you guys from?
It's not so much the drawing, it's the process behind it. It's how to look at things in a certain way in order to represent them. Just like, say, cubism. It's a manner of representing reality - at some point the manner is given a name. This couple gave a name to a process that includes both drawing and entering a meditative state.
Why Rick do you keep interrupting Maria, she's the artist, she's telling about her passion and then you keep wanting to take the lead. It's so very annoying!

I love that they mention God created us to create!

rick should get back to that monastery and apologise to the monks for misuse of their method

@@kathyhoward176 Thanks a lot for your advice. I will try to be brave and just do it.
I love Zentangles and would love to hear Maria tell her stories. You see her excitement and passion but Rick constantly interrupted her. Please Rick, let her talk. She is the artist, let her share her talent.

Agree. It is disrespectful to say the least

I have been tangling for many years. I love it! Plus
It has helped me draw better!

Good presentation, I find the videos on UA-cam to be helpful, books are good, but watching you draw is very helpful in drawing each tangle.
I just ordered all three of their books. Loved this lecture.

This is so inspiring and your enthusiasm and excitement totally infectious!

I am so glad to see this. I wanted to attend this event but it was so far away. Love it, thank you. Sandra

Just wonderful!...THANK YOU!

I believe this is her daughter that Also draws zentangle ua-cam.com/video/_Ryxqs-DcAU/v-deo.html
Yes... He is soooo annoying and she is so amazing 💜

Rick meditated on how to rip people off Compare Rick Roberts with Jon Kabat Zinn
6:25 did anyone guess how the illustration on the right is a Christmas card-I’m curious!
Update: I just needed to watch a little further, lol!
What I'm wondering is why these folks believe they 'invented' this type of drawing and put a trademark sign on it. You all don't 'own' drawing.
It's not so much the drawing, it's the process behind it. It's how to look at things in a certain way in order to represent them.

I was thinking the same thing, he talks over her and interrupts her all the time
Excellent info. Great video. Very poor audio.

She is a great calligraphy artist. I truly respect that! Her doodles are nice. He's a snake oil salesman.
Damn!
Why is he constantly talking over her? That’s so rude.
Every single time she speaks he cuts her off. This is extremely irritating
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰

I wanted to hear her not him. Why is he up there?
He can't help himself from talking all over her! Talk about diarrhea of the mouth! I give up!
Amazing !
