How do they get away with not having the nutrition facts and ingredients on the packaging? Isn’t that illegal?
It's on the vending machines
Your government wants you sick.
@naomipotts5887. There is no nutritional value whatsoever so why print garbage?
Yeah it is illegal, I got refused a sandwich I buy all the time because it wasn't labeled
maybe it’s one of those “scan a QR code for nutritional facts” bs loopholes lol
There is no point in my life where I would ever be convinced that cake from a vending machine would be palatable and delivered fresh daily.
Eh if it was in Japan or Korea I could be convinced.
Sprinkles does a pretty good job of having their machines stocked regularly if not daily
@@unintentionallydramaticdepends. I lived in Japan for many years and this is true for some areas, but definitely not others.
Unless it’s Japan, then I would gladly eat vending machine food everyday. Their vending machine has all diffferent types of food, drinks, deserts and many more. Best part about it, it’s super fresh and they even have vending machines for foods or drinks that are about to expire.

You are correct. America as a whole is really a scam.

"Cake Liquid" actually made me gag. That sounds horrific.
Cake liquid is simple syrup. Probably high fructose corn syrup and water sprayed on the cake layers before assembling with the buttercream.
It's sugar water

I remember my grandfather took me to a baseball game for my birthday. On the way back, we stopped at a travel plaza and they had one of these vending machines. He bought he a slice of cake, and sure, it wasn't the best; definitely wasn't worth the price. Though, it did the job and I still liked it actually. Now every time I see one of these vending machines I'm reminded of my (now passed) grandfather.
That sweet memory (no pun intended) is well worth the money!

Travel Plaza? Is that another name for a rest stop? I've never heard the term travel plaza
@michellehawkins1027 Las Vegas ain't got "rest stops". Everything is bigger and 'better' there.

They are obviously stretching the definition of “delivered daily” intending to trick people.
Vending machines need to have nutrients labels of the food they are offering.. This is ridiculous!
Food laws need to actually be enforced. No one in America cares about America.
buying cake from a vending machine was your first problem
There are vending machines selling cakes and pastries in Japan though. The difference is that they are either canned so the freshness is vacuum sealed and locked in, or they are baked and stocked everyday and they throw out all unsold cakes everyday

putting $9 into a vending machine is second problem.

I remember LOVING Carlos… then they abandoned their original mission. Sold out! You do not have to match your business growth potential and compromise your integrity. If your business is thriving, keep doing what you’re doing! Greed often creeps in and reduces your product! 😢
Just around the beginning of the their show I went to the Hoboken shop and bought an assortment of traditional Italian pastries/cookies and a few different cupcakes/cake slices. The Italian deserts were great but the cakes/cupcakes were dry and not much flavor. They should have stuck to the Italian baked goods.

Being a business in american means you have to exploit people to live. Those who are decent give to those who are greedy because otherwise theyll becomes greedy
There's nothing wrong with building a brand and then using that reputation to maximise profits while running the quality into the ground. You've already proven you can make high quality product. To then choose to not accumulate an excess amount of wealth which can go into a trust and benefit generations of your family is selfish and driven by arrogant pride.
When the cake is so bad you throw a perfectly good fork in the trash
I saw that at a rest stop in New Jersey when I went in for some food. It was more annoying listening to the Cake Boss screaming hey come get a slice! Or whatever he said.

As a bakery owner, I would never sell cakes through vending machines. I believe it goes against the principles of baking and providing fresh, high-quality products to customers.
Wouldn't it be lovely if Fresh cake was just made with "Cake Liquid" instead of actual ingredients like eggs, flour, slat, sugar, milk, ect.? Sounds so delicious 😅
Im pretty sure someone should call the health inspector or whoever’s job it is to deal with this because all food and drink items are supposed to have an ingredient list by the fda its none negotiable the vending machine and factory could be taken down for this
I believe there are vending machines for instance in Japan, and even in LA that do it well. The difference is, they actually bake them fresh daily and restock every single day.
I mean if you ran it differently locally it's a good idea. The edible arrangements used to do something similar, sell smoothies and singular prices that didn't make it in a fridge in the front
In France it's not uncommon to have a baguette vending machine that is stocked by a local Baker, stocked fresh every day.

90% of commercial food has half truths. Like my dad's factory produces a protected food, the ingredients can be combined together in any part of the country but it has to be baked in a certain region to get that status
Well, that’s the truth of the matter, but “delivered daily” definitely implies that the whole thing is restocked daily. Dodgy marketing as always
Also, delivered daily could also mean that the factory makes daily deliveries not that the cake for that machine is restocked daily.
@@BizznessBox that’s what I’m thinking

After living in the states and become aware of ingredient and then moving to Europe I have come to realize that over half of pre-packaged foods in the states, as they are, are actually illegal in Europe.
I keep thinking about how great it would be to move to somewhere in Europe. The only thing stopping me is money and how safe from war the USA is
Most ingredients legal in the US are illegal in most places around the world
@@TopOfAllWorlds strange priorities, right now you are more likely to die of gunshot in the "peaceful" USA than in a hypothetical war in Europe (outside Ukraine ofc).

That's something that Las Vegas has gone from 24/7 cafes to vending machines.
Oh,wow. I'm fortunate enough to live near an actual Carlos Bakery and they're amazing. But this is a real wake up call to them, such a bad way to sell the product.😔
I’m just going to stick to my 3 layer from Walmart (same dude, and the cake is moist and rich)
@@mylesmitkos272Fr?
The cakes they make now are not as good as the ones they used to make before the show. My friends mom used to bring a couple down every time she drove down to NC to visit us in college.
Idk I tried some at the bakery in New Jersey and it was well… mid… I was expecting something at least decent but it tasted very artificial
They brought one to Canada! When I finally went in to try what I wanted to months after opening they told me they stopped selling the pizza/foccocia bread.
She's not lying and it's not just the vending machine. I ordered the "dream cake" from their Cake Boss Pop Up store on doordash. It arrived frozen, and when it came time to eat, I brought it to temperature and took a bite only to realize that it was absolute garbage 🤮. Never again, Carlos.
Carlo*
If you watch the show all of their cakes are frozen
Having lived in Hoboken, the cake from the ACTUAL STORE sucks balls too. Dry as fuck, not even worth talking about.
Man...hope SunnyV2 makes a video about cake boss. It's only a matter of time.
@@ZyxieRumor hes a content farm bro. just give him enough money and he'll make one about anything
I used to watch Cake Boss all the time... I can't believe his company would do this... ugh
Public education has failed anyone that expects a bakery to live inside those vending machines. 🤦
*Japan and Korea create vending machines with whole cakes that are delicious and affordable*
Vegas: "Oh, I can scam with that!"
Fuk Vegas. Use to live there, lots of scammers and losers. Lots of infidelity and cheating due to all the free alcohol. Terrible place to raise a family too.
Havent tried the vendo cakes. But Japan's convenience store cakes tastes as good as the ones I buy from actual cake shops in my country.
The 2 quickest ways to make me lose all respect for a chef is tv dinners and vending machines.
I’m sure they care what random stranger with Minecraft profile pic thinks.
Looks like gordons called out lol
@@DormantGolem Also Gusteau
so no more gordon ramsay? 😕
I don’t think the TV dinner or cake thing is that common bro, you gotta be talking about like two people.
Agree. This was the worst cake I’ve ever eaten. So dry. We even got ours at the Buddy store. Shame on him!
It's amazing how Carlos can make the cakes fresh daily and get them to Vegas and most major Canadian cities in such quick fashion.
The first time I seen one of these I got so excited. Bought a slice and I looked at my sister after the first bite and told her it was the worst cake I have ever had. She took a bite and agreed. Total ripoff.
For reals!!! Nasty as hell. I was so dissapointed.
I love it!!! It was so good and moist
There's all the food you could ever want in Vegas. Why would you buy a cake from a vending machine when there's restaurants and bakeries all over the place 🤦🏻
I should have scrolled down because I left practically the same comment. Vegas is foodie central -- why would you ever even consider wasting your time on vending machine food in this mecca of culinary arts?!
Dunno, of the cake is already 9 bucks, O don't wanna find out what actual food costs there 😂
Because it's from Carlos Bake Shop. Kinda like how rather than buy a rib sandwich from any of the restaurants people will buy the Tony Roma ones from 7-Eleven and microwave them.
There’s no good food in Vegas or the US. At least for people from countries with a good food culture
@@AnnabelleXDYawn
I hate people that try to knock another person's hustle.
I'm so glad my boyfriend talked me out of buying a slice so many times I never got to try them. How gross and expensive!
They literally donate these to the food pantry I go to and I was speaking with the man who runs the pantry about what kind of food waste they dealt with. These cakes and the fresh vegetables are their biggest waste item as a pantry because people don't grab either.
I'm sad to hear about the fresh vegetable not being touched. You would think the people there would value their diet and nutrition, but what do I know?
@@michaelnguyen823Makes more sense when you factor in the housing crisis and why staple food is sometimes more of a priority.
A lot of the fruits and veggies have mold on them by the time they are given to us. Every time I grab strawberries from either of the two pantries we go to they either already have mold on it or do within a day of coming home.
@@michaelnguyen823people like fruit because of natural sugar but veggies just taste bad if im starving im picking the can of chili over a cabbage any day
@michaelnguyen823 most of these people rarely have time to make a meal plus most of the "fresh veggies" are a week away from being bad.
I actually tried to order some cake through DoorDash and this just so happened to be the only option. It’s safe to say that this was the worst cake I’ve ever had in my life.
Buddy aka “Cake Boss” considers himself the premier cake specialist.
$9 / small slice = robbery
Hahahahah .
Cake
Just did this tonight. It's a horrible cake.
You *can* get good cake from door dash, but you need to look up the business it’s coming from off door dash and make sure that’s it’s a real bakery with good reviews.
It should also be a bakery that actually specializes in cakes. If most of what they’re selling is a random assortment of pastries, you may not get a first-rate cake.
That said, I would recommend ordering a cake directly from the shop and picking it up yourself if possible. The door dash price inflation is pretty bad.
I bought one at a grocery store in Illinois and it was one of the grossest things I've had in a long time
Companies got sued in australia as it said "made fresh daily". Does not mean it was made that day when it gets to the shelf.
He came to speak to our class in college. He told us that he makes the cake in the warehouse and then freezes it. He stated that if you freeze a cake it lasts for a year but once it is in the fridge vending machine it lasts for 28 days and then they switch them out every 28 days. We were then given free cakes at the end. The cake was clearly melting from being out too long after it was frozen. But if people are getting upset about cake from a vending machine. Think about that. You are buying cake from a VENDING machine. What did you expect it to taste and be like. I think them not having nutrition facts is definitely shady.
True, but what they're doing is still lowkey evil. It's not even just that they're another money grab taking advantage of gullible tourists, "cake liquid" and the removal of their ingredients? They're lying to people and feeding them poison to make a dishonest dollar, no doubt. The fact of the matter is is that this should not be legal at all.
In Japan you can get cake, fruit, and many other things from vending machines and they're always of good quality. If they're prepared and stocked daily it's no difference whether they're sold from a machine or a counter.
I love those cake 🍰. It is something I must have every trip to Vegas.
I agree... The US ain't like Japan that has a well structured vending machine culture. If your Getting a cake from a vending machine then most definitely you know it's not going to be fresh. If you want fresh cakes go to a damn bakery.
@@LightTheMarsJapan is also notorious for having old products in their vending machines. Particularly, the one with the drinks. Enough Japanese people stay away from them. Vending machines aren’t perfect, but if it’s placed next to the actual store that makes the products, I could see it work.
This is why I don't buy food out of a vending machine unless it's a bag of chips or a candy bar
because those are healthier options
Lol
in Japan they have vending machines that are actually good. ive seen videos on youtube of people eating from them. the vending machines make the meals on the spot and the people said its really good.

Ew that’s so terrible. I stopped buying from vending machines a long time ago because I learned that everything that goes in them be in there for like weeks. Lying to folks and getting people to spend their money.
When I was driving a taxi I heard from so many of my passengers about this guy Carlos everyone says his cakes are dry and he had a reality show
I'd go as far to say this isn't one of the biggest scams in Vegas. 😂
