I still use it quite a bit! This packaging tape is great but it doesn't work well on smaller trees. It's too bulky for that. So tephlon tape comes in handy for those
Thank you for sharing. This video has been a great help to me as I have a similar tree I am working on. Looking forward to see how your Ficus develops over time.
Nice bonsai work, brother. She is developing nicely! Looks like you and I were on the same brainwaves this week. I just posted on my fusion this week as well. Got some great tips on the comments
I really like all of the cuts and the removal of the aerial roots....👍👍 I can't tell if you have an aerial root or a winding branch on top of another one in the back branch...🤔🤔
"off with his head" you been watching street outlaws lately too? lol i love that show. im still learning how to fuse ficus, been following this one since you started it. its come a long way. looks great too btw
I think this tree looks better now as well. In a year, this tree will look wonderful.
Thank you!
What I like to think is that an ugly cut scar now becomes a healed, characterful feature, in just a couple of years!
Absolutely!
Glad to see those aerial roots go! What a big change!
Thanks! And I agree, it looks a lot better now without them. Didn't realize how messy it looked before until they were gone.
10:14 If you can get that to root, you'll have a really nice start for another bonsai.
Absolutely! I just put it in some soil last night and stuck it in the grow tent. Fingers 🤞
Afaik this fig species does root better when you put those cuttings with all its leaves in a glass of water and change the water every 3 - 4 days.
I totally agree that trees are especially attractive when they have both dark mature leaves and added to that the new light green leaves and shoots.
Thank you!
I tried the Teflon tape and it works fantastic

I'm glad to hear that! And thank you very much
Really good video. Great visual and discussion. One of your best
Thank you! I really appreciate that
I see your point about aerial roots. Cutting most of mine off today.
It's weird that I tried so hard to get them, then once I did I just got rid of them. Lol
Nice one.
I'd love to see you do some thread grafting, as it looks like you have some trunks large enough to drill.
Thanks! And funny you mention that because I have another focus I was considering trying that with.

Its a windy branch that I seriously considered removing. In the end I decided to let it go for now. We'll see how it develops

Thank you! I've been on a Vikings kick from Netflix lately so I'm sure that had something to do with it lol. 🪓
