Rewatching this video to hear your voice. Wanted to let you know, you were the reason I had the confidence to purchase two alpha engines on my dollar. And with that, 2021 season I had one of my best showings in the pro class. Really miss you buddy.
This is a great engine. I got one for $250 with the Alpha clutch last year. It has a ton of bottom end and holds a tune well. I wish they were sold in the US.
2024 October: the Aplha Drago IV has been my go to engine. I use REDS 721 Superveloće and the OS B21 as well. Also have the Dragon V & Falcon. The Dragon IV is a little better than FP02. I highly recommended the Dragon IV 🔥
Yes bro..Alpha engine is long life engine..Cheap but good engine..Also it can be one of the competitior in racing competition Ryan Lutz saying that..Cheap,long life engine & powerful..
Hello again. Sorry to bother you but I have a question. When tuning a 3 needle carb can I just leave the mid speed needle alone and still get a decent tune? Thanks.
They should call it the dragon 5 cause the dragon 4 originally came out with a different carb and old backplate also the original dragon 4 the first batch came with a free 4 shoe clutch. A lot of guys were saying the 4 fuel mileage was bad in forums and saying the mileage was worse then the dragon 3. I saw the old dragon 4 selling on eBay and rctech by the USA distributor selling for around 225-250ish shipped but that was before they did the backplate drilling and the new fuel saving carb on the newer dragon 4. They should of just called it a dragon 5 but they prob already had the cases printed. Supposedly the new carb saves a good amount fuel to the previous version of the dragon 4 and supposedly not really any notice in drop of power. I think I read your only supposed to use a 7.5 venturi on that carb or something. Nice review!
@@rcjerz a bit saving fuel mileage like Alpha Drago III..Also have same practical rpm with Alpha Dragon III but more torque about 0.2ps more...Alpha Dragon III 2.80@38800rpm & Alpha Dragon IV Ver.2 2.82ps@38800rpm also..before for the Dragon IV Ver.1 the practical rpm is 4000rpm-41000rpm..but now same like Alpha Dragon III 4000rpm-40300rpm..but a bit more torque..
@@mustakimkamaruzaman9715 yea they probably had a lot of 4 cases left over and it would of been a huge loss for them not to sell those engine blocks so that’s probably the reason. Also some people will end up buying the 4 and think they got the newest one and they didn’t.
hello bro mustakim, did you find out how to differentiate the ver 1 and ver 2 now? what is the ver 2 number on the white sticker? thanks for your help im about to get one.
Do you have any numbers on the Novarossi BT5? Have modified any? And what would be a better modification the BT5 or Mito 4 pre-run with ceramic bearing? How much would I be looking at?
Great review i run allot of alpha engines i keep tellin everyone they should try one i feel thier under rated and the bad thing is yes there is no usa based distribution i go to rc willpower to order my stuff its very cheap pricing but only down side takes for ever to get stuff but i will say ive ownd almost all brand nitro engines and allha has become a facorite of mine im actual wanting to send you 2 of my motors to modify them

Yes I heard. Argus and Alpha went to the more expensive engines a few years ago. $300 plus engines, only the die hard Alpha/Argus guys would buy them. Most unsponsored guys look at price and at that time Novarossi was cheaper.
@@TheRwmods yes, like you've said (I think it was you) when Nova dropped in price it doomed the Taiwanese race engines. With Nova gone we will see. Maybe there's room in the market if they drop the prices to around $250.
@@TheRwmods oh i see...before Alpha engine is expensive in USA..but for the Argus engine from long time ago until now still cheap engine cost sell in Asia..My country is Malaysia..For Argus K3 Evo 2 engine only US$180..but yes long time ago the price for the Alpha engine is expensive..now for Alpha Dragon III in my country sell same price with Argus about US$180 for Alpha engine..FX engine also same price like Argus & Alpha in my country..OS & Reds is expensive luxury engine nowdays..Maybe our tax goverment countey for the item is different..i think maybe for the tax in USA a little bit expensive..
The Alpha Dragon IV edition 2 comes with the modded backplate and an updated carb. The original Dragon IV can be upgraded to those option parts but does not come with them from factory.
Novarossi factory close already..only a few parts is still sell..One day the Novarossi factory will closed completely..thats why people now dont want to choose Novarossi anymore for race or bashing..they worried about to find the parts later..

Yes on most engines it is best to leave the mid/spraybar needle alone.
Hi,
Ive got the option of grabbing one of these or a novarossi elite 5 purple top. Same price.
Which would you recommend
Thanks
I used these all the time during the Great War of 2021

I brought an original dragon 4 from a team driver on rc tech. But i brought the new carb and backplate when they came out a couple months ago

Can this Alpha Dragon engine fit with Argus engine part like sleeve, piston,& conrod?..because im hear Argus also built by Alpha base..🙏🙏🙏
Yes Argus will fit, on some engines the alignment pin on the sleeve might be on the opposite side but easy to fix.
