These are 100% accurate. Exact same thing I told my son before he left 3 weeks ago for BMT. He's in the same BMT unit I was in when I went in (320th TRS).
In the chow-hall , take all you want but eat all you take . During the time while you are in the BMT , Keep your eyes open and keep your mouth shut except when you are required to talk or sound off . Have fun . The trainings are such an excellent one which will bear with you for the rest of your life . 🇺🇸

Bmt is designed to make you pass. I graduated the 26 of may and I had a blast. It is not as hard as people think if you want to join go for it bc you will succeed

Honestly you wont do a ton, but the running you will do is often just timed (20-30 min). Def get comfortable running before you get there, if you're behind on pushups or situps its easy to work up but running is hard to make up for.
Every AFSC has a chance of getting deployed, some deploy more, some may never see a deployment it all depends on how long you stay in and what unit you’re apart of

You can have a beard now? I was active duty from 1976 to 1982. Not too many beards back then. They did let the Air National Guard and reservists wear wigs on their weekend duty. Just tuck that long ‘70s hair up under there!

Tip #2 - be prepared for homophobia if you are gay. When I was a recruit in 1992 our TI made homophobic and misogynistic comments everyday. Harassed recruits he perceived as gay. It was disgusting. Tip #3 If you do decide to go through with it know you will get almost no sleep for 6-8 weeks. This is the most tired I ever been in my life. Tip #4 Be prepared to deal with uneducated, rude people in your unit. I found at least half of them we a few fries short of a happy meal.
You cannot compare your experience from 1992, to todays military. Just because you've had a negative experience with the military, shouldn't mean push that on others. It's a great stepping stone, if you take advantage of all the resources available. Any job, can have bad apples.. in and outside of the military. That's life.
Tip #1. If you have a shaving waiver, you're not allowed to "stylize" it.

it's the Airforce dude, if you passed P.E. in highschool, you can pass BMT. Plus stress level is way down.
