Classic Business Haircut - Conservative Haircut - Greg Zorian Haircut Tutorial

The classic business cut will never go out of style. It is a side part hairstyle with enough hair to comb to the side on top and back on the sides. Learn how to cut this hairstyle by combining many different barbering techniques including, scissor over comb, clipper over comb, straight razor over comb, and straight razor sculpting. Start on the top and create square layers using the barber shear over fingers technique. Next cut the sides and back first with the barber shear over finger technique. Then as you move to the lower portion of the sides and back use the barber shear over comb technique. Outline the haircut by using the clipper over comb technique to taper the hairline. Finish up the outline the t-outliner to create a clean line on the sideburn area and the back of the neck behind the ears. Leave the taper and use an upward shaving motion to clean up the neck. Before styling the hair thin out the hair first using a thinning shear over comb technique followed by the straight razor sculpting technique. Style the hair with Zorian of New York grooming cream. Apply through the hair and use a vent brush to style. This will create a soft manageable hold that will last all day.
Now I know where Carlo Ancelotti gets his haircut! Unbelievable technique and an extraordinary result. As you said at the opening, it neither looks like he got a haircut nor needs a haircut.

Thank you very much for this super useful video! Here in Italy barbers and hairdressers are closed for over 2 months due to Coronavirus, so my 73 year old father needed desperatly a haircut. He use to have that exact same haircut as you do in this video, and I followed it faithfully and it helped me so much. Not as perfect as yours (I'm a make up artist and I only did a little bit of grooming on male models in my life), but I will definetely try again next month and I'm sure I'll get better. Thank you!

I was trained in cosmetology and this technique is fascinating. I love to watch barbers. It's two similar professions that are so different.
I got out of doing hair when I joined the Navy and trained as a Corpsman. I got into health care and did that for a long time.
My cosmetology license expired years ago. I'm wanting to get back into it. I am looking into going to barber school to get more skills. My beauty skills are rusty, but I can still cut hair with scissors. I'm sure I can color and perm if I set my mind to it.
Whenever I'm ready to go to state board I can take the exam and get my license reinstated....but I still want to go to barber school and have both licenses.
I love the way your style came out. I also like the classic look of your shop. Maybe because I'm getting older I can see myself thriving in a shop like that. I'm 53. I'm not old enough to retire yet but I'm old enough to appreciate classic style.

I live in Scotland and I wish I could find a barber like you. I am 65 and I need a barber that actually listens to me! My last haircut was in November and I am still growing out the neck taper that I didn’t ask for. I don’t intend to get another haircut until April and I reckon by then it will be back to where I started. I love the way you understand taking away heaviness doesn’t mean shortness or fading. Just because a guy goes to a barber it doesn’t mean he wants to come out looking like he is going to fight in WW1 trenches! The ideal haircut is when two or three days afterwards someone says, have you had a haircut?
I like the fact that he personalized the gentleman's haircut to suit his hair type. I've been to so many stylists who don't take the time to look your hair over before they begin cutting. I end up getting a haircut more suited to someone else hair type.

This haircut is incredible, even if is just a scissor cut but Greg makes it on a way that is incredible and explains every step. When I become an old man I want to get my hair like this model.

I use the exact same technique except I don’t do the razor step.. i will try it out tomorrow... I’m glad I went to barber school but I’m especially thankful that my father and grandfather and uncles all are barbers. I did my first cut at the age age of 15, I’m 28 now and still getting better everyday!

Hi Greg! Greetings form Canada. I'm new to this channel. In the video you demonstrated creating and using the travelling guide to cut the top centre first , the you cut the client's right side to his natural part using the previous guide.
How did you cut the left side ? It's not shown in the video.?
You make it look so effortless and your Technique is different than a lot of what I've seen but yet it seems to work better when I try it. I started using a longer shears and noticed that makes a difference I'm not sure if that's what you think.

Can cosmetologists use the razor that you used even though they are not barbers in the salon??
Every state is different when it comes to shaving and cutting hair. You would have to check with your state's department of licensing or maybe give one of your local schools a call.
At my hometown its cost 2.50 dollars.
