I think the Demogorgon was much more agile in this season because as opposed to season 1, the environment is much more open. Before, we only saw it cramped inside a house and in in a suffocated school hallway; here, it's pretty much out in the open.
Hopper's storyline was the best hands down. So grounded and emotional. Didn't have massive stakes with probably the dumbest military plan ever. They didn't even look for a connection between the kids, they know other things have come out of the upside down, and Eleven was states away. Then they dont even block off the giant hell craters after everything. Adults in this show are straight up special outside the main characters
@@act2wasstronger182 idk i liked vecna. The teen/kid drama is a bit much though. Like I get love triangles get attention and the show isn't necessarily for adults so it's just something you gotta accept nowadays. At least the writing is way better than Disney
I feel like this Demogorgon is acting like a human with a demon inside. And the way he massacred the Russian prisoners way more agile and more aggressive.
Demogorgons are without a doubt my favorite monster designs in media, only being rivaled by The Death Angels from A Quiet Place or The Dredge from Dead by Daylight. But season 4 amplified the awesomeness by having the Demogorgon act differently. In season 1 Demo was acting on instinct, It walked around casually as seen when Vecna first came to the upside down. It acted calm and normal. The same can't be said for Season 4s Demogorgon. It acts feral and I think i know why, Like the Indominus Rex in Jurassic world, the more an Animal is left in containment without company, the more feral it will become, as seen on how it moves. It occasionally swaps from quadripedal to bipedal in an instant.
S4 demogorgon is most likely younger than s1 one, since demogorgons mold from demodogs, this one molded not that long ago so he acts more energetic and feral due to the new strength it poseses
I think a BIG reason is simply budget in the first season. Demo was supposed to be animalistic, but there's only so much you can do with a suit and some cgi. If you watch between seasons, the Demo here definitely got a massive upgrade. Also eyyy, fellow Dredge lover lol. One of my top fave Killers
If this Demogorgon was in the first season Steve,Nancy, Johnathon would died in the first 2 minutes Just wow I never expected this many likes this is my first 1k likes ever
@@kokopng8807 no it's cause back when the show first started I'm guessing they didn't have enough for a cgi computer and they had to use a guy in a costume with green screen and now the show is more popular and made a lot of money, enough to own a cgi computer, like the dinosaurs you see in Jurassic world. That's my guess
We already knew, in the first season a group of agents tried to kill the demogorgon with automatic guns but he killed them all Also they’re not really bulletproof, the bullets always pierce their skin, they just seem to regenerate wounds like wolverine
@@madmaxchannel4489 I don't think they regen that fast, this one in particular was so tanky cuz he has eaten over 100+ prisoners, so he has a lot of biomass like fat and calcium to harden his skin to absurd levels sort of like a exoskeleton. The cold weather helps him too. The one Steve beat with a bat had eaten maybe 10 scientists + 10 soldiers? + Barb, so at 1/5 strengh and in regular climate, the power scale is feasible I guess
They aren't entirely bullet proof the Demogorgons were confirmed to be their own beings in another world BUT the mind flayer was Givin personality by Vecna and obviously it Flayed them, when someone's Flayed they can still live through the mind flayer particles until it exits, a Russian said the dust went into DEAD demodogs and they somehow revived, the mind flayer revives things that are dead so long as the brain is still in tact
They went all out with this demogorgan since last time they didn't realy have the budget but I feel like this one was more powerful due to the environment and unlike s1 demogorgan this one was actually getting food and had the food fight back
@@beanseason6515 The Netflix reason for this is because they had more funding, time to make CGI, etc. The show’s reason is because Season 1’s Demo was likely older, not as well fed, and in a cramped space. Season 4’s Demo was walking on all fours, implying it’s closer to being a Demodog, meaning it’s younger, constantly fed with prisoners, and in an open area to fight.
The whole upside down is a hive mind animal. It’s not “evil” it just wants to grow and spread, like literally every living thing. Look how many animals and ecosystems we destroy to grow, their no different. Vecna was just some dude though.
@@yellowandbrown1864 Nah, Vecna was DEFINITELY evil. Saying that Vecna and Mind Flayer are demons ain't wrong. They are beings of nearly pure evilness that want to not only expand but kill everything they see for pleasure.

When I was watching this chapter I believe that I accidentally skipped this flame thrower+ sword fight . I do not remember this awesome part, got to watch it again. For me the Americans left/ escaped the jail when the demagorgon was still very alive and in a killing spree.
I’ve got a theory that the demogorgan from season 1 was weakeand like maybe when it had its rampage at the lab they could have used flame throwers just look on this scene and look how it behaves 3:03
This demogorgan was very childish and unskilled but very good in combat and agility unlike the older demo that could travel through dimensions and through walls and teleport anything to the upside down
This one was definitely more agile than the one in season 1 probably cos it's younger but how the hell did it have a ready stance before fighter hopper
I like to think season 1 demogorgon is more like an elderly demogorgon and that the prime of the demo-cycle is in the first week or 2 when demodogs can stand up A demo dog is more agile but it can really only kill with its mouth but the week 2 demogorgon is like a really angsty teen demogorgon one that’s more fight than flight like a demodog can attack then flee
I absolutely loved the scenes with the demogorgon however I would’ve loved to see a scene where it storms through the halls of the prison and messes up a dozen soviets
Tbh I see the demogorgons as just the natural creatures of the upside down but after Vecna entered and created the mind flayer, it, along with every other creature, joined the hive mind I believe that the Demogorgon of season 1 was actually the one Henry Creel saw when exploring the upside down and then 4 years later in 1983 it was old, hence why it was slower So this demogorgon from season 4 is the new generation that was born during their link with the hive mind I kinda imagine it as if it was connected similar to how the Mind flayer was to Will, who would experience pain and would see the same thing the mind flayer sees And I kinda feel bad for it at its final moments lol It’s younger siblings fought along side it, the demogorgon always being in front of them, and then they all burn except for the s4 demogorgon and for a moment I believed that since it was on fire the mind flayer’s connection dimmed out for a brief moment And while the mind flayer let the demogorgon back in control, it began to back away. It then looks at the bodies of its younger siblings while being shot at 3:10 and then thanks to the winter cold, the mind flayer gains control again at around 3:19 or 20 and dies fighting hopper And thanks to its death, the mind flayer learns more about the humans and how to counter any attack similar to it But yeah that’s my small theory
hopper is a paladin, he goes by many pains and he is still here, the same as before, not giving up, into the fray of his mistake he goes delivering what it's best to his peers.
in s4 some parts felt to actiony and less realistic like the guitar scene and the sword v demo scene but this show gets a pass as 1 its fiction not realistic and 2 the scenes were just so fucking cool
We really NEED the answers, why the russians are so experienced in how to deal with the other dimension, they somehow knew there was a portal and how to open it, they managed to defeat the mindflayer, they defeated like 7 demorgorgons, who are resistent to guns, etc, the russians are, that is the thing that is most unclear to me and my biggest question since season two
I think the other deomgorgan was just as tough but hadn’t had the time to adjust to humans attacks as it didn’t know how deadly humans were 1 on 1, but now as a hive mind they have learned how soft and fleshy humans are so the demos don’t hold back anymore
Imagine this Demogorgon rampaging in Hawkins. Nobody would be safe. And that would be absolute mayhem. Also, I think I like this new CGI Demogorgon model. It is better than the original, the new one looks skinny, but sturdy.
@@nicolasbolas2247 s1 demo was not practical lmfao. first season budget was a microcosm compared to s4, which IMO is why its still the best season by a mile. they didn't have to rely on constant cg to progress everything. the demogorgon was rarely on screen in s1 to save the budget for other things but that added to the horror element which leaves after s1.

Actually when it was in the upside down in the woods it was still slow I think he was just old

I liked it as well (still liked the Hawkins story the best though) and I was shocked to see that most people seem to hate the Russia storyline.
I loved it more than the miain story about a villain who is weak to music
@@act2wasstronger182 idk i liked vecna. The teen/kid drama is a bit much though. Like I get love triangles get attention and the show isn't necessarily for adults so it's just something you gotta accept nowadays. At least the writing is way better than Disney

Hopper is the bravest and coolest man alive, engaging a demogorgon in melee combat is not easy. But he made it look like it was
the demogorgon is way faster because they used animations to create it.
meanwhile in s1 they used an actual person to act it all out
And in season 4 it was younger
Look at behind the scenes footage
And you'll see that an actual guy in a green suit did the acting

@@whoareyoutoaccuseme6588
Just like how Bertholdt's Colossal Titan will always be AOT's true mascot.

Amen
@calltoserve9964naw he’s going to hell bud.
So brutal.
I barely watch Stranger Things but it’s so nice to see the Demogorgon tearing stuff apart again
The fact that these bastards have been revealed to be bullet-proof means the next season is gonna be brutal.
We already knew, in the first season a group of agents tried to kill the demogorgon with automatic guns but he killed them all
Also they’re not really bulletproof, the bullets always pierce their skin, they just seem to regenerate wounds like wolverine
@@FaeridaeCrawford that’s pretty much head canon, you can’t know if eating enhances their biomass

@@beanseason6515
The Netflix reason for this is because they had more funding, time to make CGI, etc. The show’s reason is because Season 1’s Demo was likely older, not as well fed, and in a cramped space. Season 4’s Demo was walking on all fours, implying it’s closer to being a Demodog, meaning it’s younger, constantly fed with prisoners, and in an open area to fight.
This demo is agile and strong as shit
The one in season 1 had telepathy and interdimensional travel
So basically warrior type and wizard type
Oh that does make sense

@@yellowandbrown1864 Nah, Vecna was DEFINITELY evil. Saying that Vecna and Mind Flayer are demons ain't wrong. They are beings of nearly pure evilness that want to not only expand but kill everything they see for pleasure.

I like to think season 1 demogorgon is more like an elderly demogorgon and that the prime of the demo-cycle is in the first week or 2 when demodogs can stand up
A demo dog is more agile but it can really only kill with its mouth but the week 2 demogorgon is like a really angsty teen demogorgon one that’s more fight than flight like a demodog can attack then flee

This teached me something.
If they had swords in season 1, the season would've finished fast af.
*fire
He: picks UP the sword
The demogorgon: let's settle this
Tbh I see the demogorgons as just the natural creatures of the upside down but after Vecna entered and created the mind flayer, it, along with every other creature, joined the hive mind
I believe that the Demogorgon of season 1 was actually the one Henry Creel saw when exploring the upside down and then 4 years later in 1983 it was old, hence why it was slower
So this demogorgon from season 4 is the new generation that was born during their link with the hive mind
I kinda imagine it as if it was connected similar to how the Mind flayer was to Will, who would experience pain and would see the same thing the mind flayer sees
And I kinda feel bad for it at its final moments lol
It’s younger siblings fought along side it, the demogorgon always being in front of them, and then they all burn except for the s4 demogorgon and for a moment I believed that since it was on fire the mind flayer’s connection dimmed out for a brief moment
And while the mind flayer let the demogorgon back in control, it began to back away. It then looks at the bodies of its younger siblings while being shot at 3:10 and then thanks to the winter cold, the mind flayer gains control again at around 3:19 or 20 and dies fighting hopper
And thanks to its death, the mind flayer learns more about the humans and how to counter any attack similar to it
But yeah that’s my small theory
The best part of the season in all honesty.
Facts
Hlw bro you know name of movie
Demo seriously learned a strategy of throwing and slashing instead of just flailing around its hands and ambushing
hopper is a paladin, he goes by many pains and he is still here, the same as before, not giving up, into the fray of his mistake he goes delivering what it's best to his peers.
in s4 some parts felt to actiony and less realistic like the guitar scene and the sword v demo scene but this show gets a pass as 1 its fiction not realistic and 2 the scenes were just so fucking cool
We really NEED the answers, why the russians are so experienced in how to deal with the other dimension, they somehow knew there was a portal and how to open it, they managed to defeat the mindflayer, they defeated like 7 demorgorgons, who are resistent to guns, etc, the russians are, that is the thing that is most unclear to me and my biggest question since season two
We must praise the Russians
