Hello George, hello my bearded friends all over this world.
I follow you since e few months from the north of Germany, near Hamburg.
I spent a lot of time in the evenings with you and love it!
My biggest regret is, that I don't have the patience to let my moustache grow over my mouth, to put it to the sides. I'm an undertaker or mortician, don't know, which word is correct... every day I have to look like a dressman and when I have a speech? I think the people have to see my mouth... don't know how to manage that... sorry for my bad English but my school time ended a long time ago... Peace to you and everybody... beards have no borders...

My biggest regret is starting over so many times. I'll be a month into my yeard attempt tomorrow. The longest I got to was 3 months, and I trimmed it to change up my style, I regret that now.
Thanks for this video George, great as always.

Great Beard Bruno!!! My biggest regret is exactly like yours... ☹️ I went for a trim myself and jacked da hell of it. so I had to trim all da way back to scruffy look😡😤...Big No to that. Now it's been 3 months since... Very happy with the outcome this time... I've learnt heaps watching your great vids. Really thankful to it and to you... Keep on bringing those great vids. Have a great Christmas nd b Blessed🙏🏽 Peace bearded broda👊🏽

My biggest regret was, aggressively combing and tugging on my beard. Thus interfering with the growth process. But, listening to your advice on proper beard growth, I'm now seeing a more healthier beard. Thank you for your knowledge 😎

I regret asking the barber to "trim" my beard when I was about 7 months in. I was wanting just a lite trim of all the random strays and ended up getting set back a few months.. wasn't happy! It bounced back pretty quick I guess but I'm going to have to wait a little longer know to get it officially shaped. I live just north of Philly.. maybe you could help me out when the time comes Mr. Bailey?

My biggest regret is not starting sooner, I don't know what I was waiting for. Maybe it had more to do with working in the medical field and expecting that my employer would frown on my growing a beard, although I should have known better, I work in a Sleep Disorders Center and work 12 hour nights watching other people sleep for goodness sake. I will tell you that I just started my beard in October starting from a very short mustache and goatee, the only thing I've touched is cleaning up the cheeks a little (my beard hairs grow up towards my eye sockets) and established a neckline just above the Adams apple. My mustache is as long as I've ever had it and somewhat annoying me, it's growing over my top lip and touching my bottom lip and trying to control the "fly aways" is getting to be a real chore. I'm hanging in there though, my desire for an "Epic Mustache" and beard will be met!!! Thanks for all the great advice George.I keep repeating the mantra "Let it grow and let it flow" numerous times throughout the day, LOL.

I too trimmed mine when I wasn't happy with the shape. Had wished I kept it growing and flowing for my yeard. My yeard is no where near what you have. I'm only down to my Adam's Apple, and worry I might be at terminal length. My mustache has also stopped growing? I can only know if I let it flow, and let it grow. Peace to you George, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Biggest regret is back in July I trimmed about 3 inches off my beard and REGRETTED IT EVER SINCE!!!!! Not trimmed it since and growing back with gusto thanks to all your encouragement watching your channel. Hope to fight the urge to trim in 2017! When in doubt grow it out. Cheers bearded buds.

I'm @ 3 years & 4 months, my biggest beard regret is that I had rage beard blown out for a year in a half. My beard looked awful then. I also used to use a flat iron on my beard, for 1 year now I haven't used anything on my beard. My beard is very full & very bushy now, you've been a very big help to me George

No regrets. I wish it was straighter and fuller but so far I have not trimmed it. I shaved it off last year but this year its 3 months old right now and I'm going for the yeard. Ive never let it grow more than 4 months without trimming in the past.

I just hit my 6 mo mark on the 19th. I haven't trimmed anything other than my 'stache and tapered my side burns, which I do every two to 3 weeks. I'm very pleased with how it's shaping up with no trimming. I take a pic once a month and all that's really changed is length. Thanks for the advice and encouragement.

  • @leosigman7239

As you said, trimming it. I didn't let my barber touch it, but I trimmed "stray" or "unruly" hairs, and at various points held its shape with scissors or a trimmer. Then I just let it grow and am now near second button. I don't think I changed the overall shape and my beard now is benefitting from your videos. I intend to not trim the sides and may at some stage hold length, after I learn how to make and implement such a decision. Thank you for all you are doing. I did trim my mustache back to my upper lip after a month of thinking about its progress beyond my lower lip, and that is a trimming I do not regret.

I always regret cutting it but my brain tells me it's not looking wright , this last time I took your advice an just left it alone , but the brain made me cut it off after I cut the stash off due to eating it at every bite of food .. so what can a guy with OCD and a perfectionist mentality do to get a yeard ?? I agree with you. I've trimmed my beard twice and now I'm so dissatisfied with it that I think I am going to clipper it off to about 1/4" long and start over. invariably I end up trimming the top edge on my cheeks and then I hate it.

I'm 2 1/2 years in and your beard looks longer than mine and I only trimmed once very very little, (my pic is not actually me) your beard looks straighter than mine, mine curls quite a bit. I kinda regret trimming the stache early on in the first 3 months, I've since let it go. I find my mustache grows waaaaayyyy slower than the rest of the beard, is that true with you? Or others that may read this?

  • @vinylbee

George, your beard is what I'm shooting for! My yeard comes up in week and I am disappointed that it only covers the neckline of a t-shirt when I look in a mirror. My strays that fall out are about 6" long but they are rather curly (pube like). I plan on getting a trim after the year is up due to knots.....if I can find find a barber comfy with doing beards. Otherwise I'll have to do it myself and I am about retarded doing anything in the mirror. Scary times!

It's a true test of ones self. My wife is on me to cut mine but her attempts only give me resolve to Let It Grow and Let It Flow! I'm 54 with a beard since high school so short of telling her "keep it up and I'll let it grow to my knees", I quietly shake my head. 4+ months(technically 6) and Loving it. Having a barber touch my mustache is my regret.

My biggest regret: getting into the habit of picking at it. Second biggest regret: obsessive trimming. My beard is now at 6 inches, but not 6 inches of straight growth. Now, like you, I'm wanting a more natural look. So, I'm letting it fill itself out because I don't want to hit the reset button, specially in winter.

Advice for bearded brothers, especially for someone who are new to this. this helped me from trimmimg my beard for the first 6 to 10 months. there will be days your beard will look crazy all over the place and you would want to trim it. DON'T DO IT. instead GET A HAIR CUT. this will help you from wanting to trim the yeard.

I'm at 4 months now. I have a very curly beard so it looks more like what most people look like at 2-3 months. I'm ok with the curls, but length just doesn't show the same. My only complaint/regret is that I should have carved a neckline at my Adam's apple instead of the one finger's width above it that most people recommend. I'm letting the neckline creep down, though so it's not a big deal. There are times when I want a straight haired beard for length reasons, but overall I like having a curly beard because I think it makes it easier to style. It accepts hand-shaping with balm REALLY well. I don't know that I would get that with a straight beard. If I want it to go wider, I can shape it that way. If I want it to be tighter at my cheeks: good to go. But I would love to have more length at this stage. I'm letting it go natural for a while with no trimmer or scissor shaping. I FINALLY found a place local that specifically advertises beard grooming (I've done my research on them, too!). I think I'll give them a try next month. I think at 6 months I'll be at the length I want to keep. The only problem I really have is that my chin grows so much faster than my under-jaw. I have messed up and had to start over 3 times in the last 2 years because I just wanted to "take a little off". So to say the least, I'm not going near my beard with anything used to cut hair. I might occasionally trim a wild misbehaving hair, but I don't do any shaping besides my mustache a little.

  • @DaveAppleton
    @DaveAppleton 7 років тому

I'm at 6 months and have not trimmed on your advice,I do have that natural point even though it's reasonably curly.
It seems to be growing a lot slower than yours but again thanks to you I know that's just how mine grows and is ok.

Just started my yeard in October and it is looking fine. I am having colon surgery on Dec. 30th and the surgeon asked me to trim my stache so he can see my lip. He also said he may have to soak my beard in vaseline to get a good fit for oxygen. Any suggestions to get the stache and beard to lie flat? I really don't want to trim or cut it off at this point. Anyone know of any good products or tips to help fill out bald spots especially on cheeks/sides?
I currently have the chin real well going near neck and a little around under the jaw and good on sideburns but from cheeks to the edges of mustache area are near barren. I do have the edges of mustache going on but my mustache area is entirely anti-hitler-esque as the area where his mustache was grown is almost fully bald.
Currently just grabbed the spray and soon will get the supplement of beardilizer, had the spray for a week now and I know that based on their site they say for real results it takes about 6 months which funny enough sounds much like the give it time answer you have here.
