this system has been out for years it's also branded as stanley fatmax and craftsman versa stack I've got parts from all the different brands and they all lock together
@Vince - I use the TSTAK as part of my tradeshow kit. You are correct that the TSTAK is not as durable as the ToughSystem, but it simply does not need to be for many. My favorite part is that they are interchangeable with Craftsman's Versastack, which is valuable if you're closer to Lowes than Depot and need a last-minute addition.
James Spencer what kinda work you do and how much are these i have aridgid system but all dewalt thought this may be a good option ... i will use and abuse this .
The tough case pluses go onto the case you put underneath the shallow yellow drill case they're all designed to clip together so make sure the toughcases large , medium small all go on top
I worked for 20+ years setting up trade shows, and saw these type systems being introduced to the market. Bought one from the exhibitor at the show, used to use boxes and bags and belts for moving my tools. This style I have in craftsman and love it, side locking. DeWalt does the upgrade, gotta check one of these units out. Retired now, but can't give up my tool addictions, and gadgets. Gadgets are the window for the best tools/toys yet
I just switched over to TSTAK and am loving it. Packout/ ridgid/Toughsystem/ect are all WAYYYY to big and bulky for maneuvering through philly row homes. Plus you can do bottom drawers.
I have the very first version the one that accordions out into 3 sections but stays one unit. The wheels broke so I replaced them with a push lawnmower front wheels. Works great now.
I have to say the t stak boxes are exceptionally durable. I have used them on site for several years with no breakages. I,v used them for hop ups , saw horses, you name it. Can’t vouch for the case with the wheels though,I use the t stak sack truck which is great. So I can’t recommend these enough, reasonably priced too.
HI ALL ;) vince the small drill bit. driver tips and all the other small boxes. there is a box that all those cases fit into. (DeWalt DT70716 TSTAK Accessory Caddy For Tough Case Cases) quite a smart setup.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement latch for the TSTAK? I order a case from Amazon and it came missing one of the latches. I know I can send it back to Amazon but I just thought it would be easier just to get a new latch online but I can't find it anywhere.
At the 6:48 mark, you stack a large bit kit container onto the T-Stack box. Where can I find those large bit kits at? I never see them at Home Depot or Lowe’s, or even Ebay.
I bought a tstak 3 box kit branded as the stanley fatstak from lowes before they became dewalt like 4 years. MSRP was $120 at the time I got mine for $60 out the door. No sales tax in Delaware. Since then I've added multiple boxes to the kit including the drawer boxes.
I've been wanting to build a water cooled PC inside two of them, one would have the motherboard & graphics card, second would house the radiators & water pump. And use quick disconnects for the water transfer between the boxes.
T-STAK is it older than Toughh system by Dewalt? I bought on sale Dewalt organizers for 10$/each and they are not attachable to Tough system where I bought Atomic combo set
Hi Vince, The storage box with the clear top that you thought had a hidden compartment. You can take the top container holder out put that foam insert and now you can see all your tool or batteries you hold in the case. Just a thought for those who use this t-stak unit. Always learning something new my friend. Thanks for the video...
I think you would either have your tools on you, or in the box. Where as, you may not be sure on parts, or quickly need a bit, you can then quickly see if you need more parts on top. Then again, maybe all you have is tools in this, and parts in something else.
Handle and wheels look like they catch on steps. Its amazing how many manufactures have this problem. The others that have better wheels like Milwaukee are just too bulky. Stanley has a 3 peice that is pretty good but portable, however its pretty cheaply made and for some reason not sold in USA now...
Vince the big bit box with the clear lid should allow 2 the those medium cases to attach ontop and then the small bit containers ontop the medium ones as you know. I know the craftsman big clear bit allows the medium dewalt and craftsman cases and I thought the big dewalt one was the same. Check it out and let me know.
I like t stak and also toughsystem in ideal world is toughsystem same size of t stak so can rack up the same as when tools are in no real advantage also would like vac extractor in tough system size but cant get everything in the uk
I love the innovation of modern packouts. Ridgid wins for simplest design and value for money, DeWalt is a step up and Milwaukee is the best if you can afford it
Thanks 😊😁 Vince !!,!!! Had a Birthday since we last talked. Officially OLD FART now 65 yesterday LMBO now may I have a Sticker? Hey Vince and the Very Cool Gang, I have an idea for a review or head to head. (Or maybe you can give me your opinion since you've used all of them I'm betting) I have a lot of the older 18volt dewalt tools and I'm slowly upgrading to the 20volt system. I really want to update my 18volt reciprocating saw to the new compact 20 volt XRP or maybe the 20 volt non XRP or that new 20 volt XRP that is full size. I cant seem to make up my mind if A) it would be worth dropping the cash cuz my 18 volt recip saw is still working just fine but want to upgrade it and not sure if the newer saws would be worth it and B) which of the new 20 volt saws are the best bang for the buck. Thanks for your concideration and time.
I have the same system under the CRAFTSMAN brand for a couple years now. I have 2 complaints about them, the hold too much and end up weighing a ton. I have a 15 pass. van converted to a work van which means the floor is higher off the ground. I have to break down the stack to lift it out of my van or carry ramps, at 77 this is irksome. Also you mentioned about rolling it around and not being sure the wheels can carry the load, I did too, there is not much clearance on the bottom. My solution was to buy a new axle, same diameter but longer and put larger dia. wheels on. I put the old wheels back to fill their space and prevent the axle from bowing, then put the new wheels on, these wheels can be of a better quality to withstand being dragged around a construction site. Sometime this summer I'll fix some kind of lifting rig to load/unload it from my van.
I use the t-stack sytem in the back of my ute for my tools(plus a carrier bag)- my SDS, grinder, and impact wrench have their own cases, I have the top case with a multi-tool and miscellaneous gear I dont use often, but has drill bits etc. I then have a deep case(without wheels) that has my sparky belt and multimeter, with my impact sockets, circular saw and battery on top. Then the large wheeled case is at the back of the tray, with gear I have handy but almost never use on my current job, since I cant actually wheel it anywhere on this site (blowtorch, spare impact driver, all the other random crap) And then a tradesmans bag with my drill, driver, bits, batteries, chargers, hand tools I dont keep in my belt but use often, which I take onto site and use every day. plus obviously my belt with normal gear
The new tough case you have the big one with the drill bits nut drivers inside Will except the smaller tough cases on top they inner lockand the new 2.0 Tough system storage will except new tough cases
Do the little boxes lock on to the multie bit box? Because the craftsman boxes lock on to the dewalt bit boxes small and big ones and the craftsman big multi big box to

Its not the latches that break , but those tiny bars of plastic they latch onto ... i d say dont carry more than 2 boxes latched together (my top box is no longer able to connect to anything ... )
Why does no one offer a stackable modular tool box system that comes with DRAWERS? right now I have Milk crates, a dolly, and bungy cords.... Yup was going to say they were the same as craftsman
Stanley, Craftsman, Dewalt, Mac... All owned by same company.

I have the Versa Stack by craftsman. Does anyone know if the Dewalt system is interchangeable?
Thanks for the Info!
@Vince - I use the TSTAK as part of my tradeshow kit. You are correct that the TSTAK is not as durable as the ToughSystem, but it simply does not need to be for many. I've had my t-stak system for over a year and have put it through the paces and its held up great. 100 percent satisfied.
James Spencer what kinda work you do and how much are these i have aridgid system but all dewalt thought this may be a good option ... i will use and abuse this .
The smaller boxes will latch on the top of your full size drill bit box (that you put the top box on)
The tough case pluses go onto the case you put underneath the shallow yellow drill case they're all designed to clip together so make sure the toughcases large , medium small all go on top
For looking so compact... it holds a lot of tools...nice style and just love the see through tops
@vcgconstruction what’s the model number of the dewalt interlocking bit kit? I’m referring to the longer and wider kit.
I worked for 20+ years setting up trade shows, and saw these type systems being introduced to the market. The medium size bit holder does fit to the large bit holder front to back , u can put one on each side
What is the Dewalt part # for that tough case drill bit set? I can't find it anywhere.
What is the model number?
Craftsman versastack is identical. I really like it personally. Nice to see DeWalt doing this stuff too!
Mr_W it’s made by the same company because the bit boxes from both lock to each other I have my craftsman bit boxes and dewalt boxes locked together

I just switched over to TSTAK and am loving it. Packout/ ridgid/Toughsystem/ect are all WAYYYY to big and bulky for maneuvering through philly row homes. Plus you can do bottom drawers.
Can u use the big black tough case bit set to attach the small tough case boxes to the tstak?
Do you guys not have the tough case caddy to hold all your bit sets in the uk we have that
Muy buena explicación maestro
Also compatible with the Craftsman Versastack system. Good to have options.
also with stanleys, fatmax
I have the very first version the one that accordions out into 3 sections but stays one unit. The wheels broke so I replaced them with a push lawnmower front wheels. Works great now.
I keep seeing that large Dewalt Tough Case bit set in ads and reviews, but I can't find anyone selling it. Where did you find yours?
The fact the Handel moves back if you have one stacked on the bottom box is a major selling point. Like the for thought.
Very good video vince

The problem with that is that you cant put it on top of other boxes because it has no handle on the top

I think you would either have your tools on you, or in the box. Where as, you may not be sure on parts, or quickly need a bit, you can then quickly see if you need more parts on top.

Great video brother 👍👍👍. Seems like there is plenty of storage in that setup!! Very dope!!
Is the Craftsman Versa stack interchangeable with the DeWalt system?
Yes they are.
They also integrate with Craftsman Versastack. It's really the same boxes in a different color (and maybe a little less expensive)
Craftsman also has an integrated water seal.
Dewalt sells it's own foam pcs that fit perfectly in tstack boxes and you can cut to fit
Where do we get that bit set ? I have the craftsman but would prefer the yellow 😁
Keep up the good work VCG family. :D
