Chieftain en-Dal is the kind of card you find late at night browsing scryfall and then put into your deck wondering “why isn’t everybody playing this?”
There is one aspect to Chieftain en-Dal that is important to note and where it differs from the Kinsbaile Cavalier (aside from budget); Once you attack, everything has first strike, whereas if your opponent(s) have removal, they only need to remove the Cavalier after you have declared attacks to rob you of double strike and potentially exposing many of your creatures, so you always have to act as if that is a very real threat.
One card that absolutely does wonders in this deck is Sevinne’s reclamation. It can both be loot fodder for sidar, and also get back small creatures, lands, or mana rocks we discard away! Highly recommend
Holy shit that Crib Swap+Haakon synergy just blew my mind. I actually have both cards in my version of the deck but didn't think of how that works, it's genius.
@@vectorstrike crib swap is a tribal instant that has changeling, making it every creature type, and that includes knights. If you have Haakon on the battlefield, you can play knight cards from your graveyard. So you play crib swap to destroy a creature, and it goes to the graveyard. So, BC of just how powerful the Eminence trigger is in filtering through your cards, using some evasive 1 Mana knights is a really good way to filter to your engine. Forsworn Paladin, Changeling outcast, and Foulmire Knight are both 1 black evasive knights that get you swinging by turn 2. one of the beneits of Kinsbaile Cavalier and Kwende, Pride of Femeref is that if you attack with your commander without double strike and they're in your grave, you can reanimate them as a bonus because they're reanimated in the first strike step and then grant double strike for the regular damage step, Silverblade Paladin is another knight that grants this benefit and is about .6$ ATM
I added some blue counters to save my board like negate and spell pierce as well as bident of thassa, which triggers card draw on every creature attack. I go wide with tokens and the lords/anthems make them tall. The blue spells round out the lack of blue and you can save your precious army! I love this deck :D

Instead of Chief en-Dal for the budget section, I would recommend Wonder’s less recognizable younger sibling Valor, which does the same effect but for first strike. Valor over the Chief also makes it so your opponents are going to have an awful time attacking into you. Kill power also goes up if you’re running Kwende, that combination can be deadly.
Since you're suggesting kwende in the budget version and you mentioned Wonder. I think a cool add is Valor as well giving the team permanent first strike, and with kwende turning that into double strike
I have this in my deck and it is definitely awesome when it's out. Between this and Chivalric Alliance and the knight that gives you the monarch, I've had games where I'm drawing 4 cards a turn. It synergizes so well with the deck. I just wish it was a knight so I could get it back when it inevitably dies.
I was hoping to see entomb in the honorable mentions. Basicaly a tutor for any knight to put in the graveyard just before sidar deals damage... let's say you entomb a knight that can give sidar double strike, he comes back, allows sidar to hit a second time, revive a second creature, and all of that for only 1 black mana at instant speed.
I'd say to grab Entomb and/or Buried Alive to tutor for whatever knight you need. Heck, you can entomb in response to Sidar's resurrection and put exactly the bomb you want to apply to the rest of your knights before they even deal damage.
So I have played around 9 matches with this card in my deck and it has been ridiculous. The new Heliod, the radiant dawn, primarily for his flip side Heliod the warped eclipse. I have gotten so many creatures out for practically free during opponents turns it's ridiculous and my card draw was insane, plus everything having haste is just great
If you're trying Crib Swap alongside Haakon, I'd recommend Nameless Inversion, as a way to mess with combat, and a cheap cast-from-the-yard knight for triggers.
I like Steel of the Godhead. I’m not often a fan of Aura’s because my opponent can potentially use one removal spell to remove 2 of my spells, but +2/+2 lifelink and unblockable for Sidar can be so effective.
I have a challenge the stats recommendation that discovered when researching the other precon commander. Energy Tap is a {U} sorcery that says "Tap target untapped creature you control. If you do, add an amount of {C} equal to that creature’s mana value." This card is in a total of 3 Zaxara decks, and only 1 Lucea Kane Deck, which seems insanely low for decks that want to hit huge X spell drops
All graveyard tutors are insane in the deck, Buried Alive is broken to all hell in this deck, cast it, fetch 3 knights, one that give the Commander double strike. Commander brings back the double strike card, then next turn, resurrect the other two.
I've been working on a Nazgul deck with the Jabari precon base and its been very fun. Lean in more to the reanimation with living death, storm of souls, sevinne's reclamation, etc and have a free recuring loot fodder in ringwraiths. Not budget friendly though, the 9 nazgul and an ozolith will run you 150-200.
Also with moorland rescuer you get to use something like necromancy to pull it out of the graveyard at instant speed and still get the trigger without exiling the rescuer and it gets nuts when you start doing it a lot.

Imo dude vanquisher's banner is kinda an L. 5 mana to pump creatures by one?? And who cares about the card draw??? Imo sidar can already draw you enough cards and knights dont need artifacts to get big. Imo replace banner with alhammaret's archive
One thing that's important to remember, perhaps THE most important thing to remember, is that Jibari is the cards name, and Sidar is a title. Just like Sidar Kondo. Now that you know, and are reassured that you've essentially been calling Syr Konrad "Syr" for an extended period of time, rest additionally assured that all of your opponents will GREATLY appreciate your constantly reminding them of your insistent terminology every time they make that same simple mistake. Enriched experiences all around!
It would be common practice to refer to someone in the military by their rank not their name unless preceded by their rank. The exception would be when speaking to someone of a lower rank than your own.

Dumb question, does the ability mean I draw two cards if two knights attack or only one since it says one or more?
Just one.
9 Nazgul ❤ ❤❤
You should make Slimefoot and Squee! ❤
I would really like to see TIVIT seller of Secrets upping the average, or GREASEFANG okiba boss :)
Isnt the blue black liege also a knight?
Sadly no
@@iAmNotTheMole-dc2hh Yeah, I got them confused up there lol
It is a Faerie Knight.
Changeling out cast, any cheap changeling really
0:23 Ah. AAAH. AAAAAAAH!!! 😤😤 I love those but... AAAAH
Cutting order of midnight seems so wild to me. It’s a cheap knight that can provides some card advantage and makes use of the eminence ability. I’d play 4 in sidar if I could.
what the hell is schalfir
i think the removal of aethersworn adjudicator isn't a good idea. it might not be able to blow up anything right when it hits the field, but it is a 4/4 flier, which buys you so much more time, another member of my playgroup has been playing sidar and adjudicator cheated out before turn 5 is VERY scary.
since when first strike deals combat damage to a player before any other creature???
That's... that's literally the definition of first strike. Creatures with first strike deal combat damage before creatures without first strike.
Litterally always, what did you think it did?
i’m absolutely curious about what you thought it dis
Imo dude vanquisher's banner is kinda an L. 5 mana to pump creatures by one?? And who cares about the card draw??? Imo sidar can already draw you enough cards and knights dont need artifacts to get big. Imo replace banner with alhammaret's archive
Archtype of Courage: not a knight but gives all your knights first strike while taking away your opponents first strike. add that with kwende
Wonder was mentioned. Valor was not?
Glory! Nobody ever mentions Glory! Instant speed protection the whole team!
Are we not gonna talk about how he hit us with a dad joke out of left field?
I'm sorry but I have to point it out whenever I notice it: Sidar is not a name. Sidar is a title. Sidar Jabari is not his first and last name.
Seems a bit early to be doing this one. Half those decks are probably slightly modified precons or theory crafting.
My recommendation is to watch the movie A Kight’s Tale
Upping the Average on new commanders seems like it's not too useful since the data is still fresh and volatile. It's a recipe for a quickly dated video.
Why does no one mention Glory? Imo as good as Wonder if not better. Better than Valor or Filth.
