How to make Whipped Mascarpone Frosting | Stable for piping | No butter, less sweet frosting

- In todays video, I'm sharing a recipe for a frosting that doesn't require butter and is less sweet as compared to the classic buttercream frosting. This frosting uses heavy whipping cream, mascarpone cheese, sugar and vanilla. It's a 4 ingredient frosting that's rich, creamy, goes so well on cupcakes, cakes, and other desserts. If you don't enjoy the classic butter based frosting, but prefer a lighter cream based, but still rich and indulgent, you will absolutely enjoy this whipped mascarpone frosting.

doing my friend’s birthday cake with this frosting we’ll see how it goes🤘🤘
I bet this frosting tastes delicious and better than buttercream. I prefer Italian mascarpone cream cheese to the regular kind. I spread it on homemade spicy, nutty bread, bagels, crackers, and just about anything. I'm saving your recipe. Thank you for sharing.
It is delicious! Thanks for your kind appreciation... ❤️
Your video for this frosting seems easy enough to follow and look's delicious and now that the Holiday's are nearly here I definitely want to try making this. I hope that it turns out ok.
I was looking for a recipe for hardening heavy whipping cream. thank you for your video i will try to do it❤
same here
Mascarpone cheese frosting!!
1+1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Whip then pause and add.
225 grams =1 cup mascarpone cheese
3/4 cup powdered sugar
Whip and when it's starting to combine
Add about 1+1/2 tsps Vanilla
Mix till thick, but do Not over mix!
That is so not a “dash” of vanilla 😂
🤣🤣 - I always go crazy with the vanilla....
It never is a dash
👌👌
Thanks for sharing. I always fail with frostings and shall try this recipe. Can I add gel colouring to this and not impact its stability?
I did not use any colouring for this frosting as it's a nice and white natural colour, but if you want to try, can start with a small batch just to see that it doesn't effect the consistency. If you use a high quality colouring, it should not affect the stability. What I like to use are sprinkles or some fresh fruits on top of the frosting. Happy baking & decorating....
1 1/2 cups is 375 grams
Did you tried to make without sugar? I like this frosting for pavlova, I use whipping cream but I will try this frosting and would like without sugar😊
Thanks 🤗
I have not tried it without sugar... the consistency might be a bit different. Let us know if you tried and if it was successful. Goodluck! 💓
Does it firm up nicely in the fridge??
Oh BTW, will this recipe accommodate a 3 layer cake or should it be doubled? Thank you kindly fir your response. 😄
I suggest double or even triple the quantity. This frosting is not very sweet and it's light, hence you can use as much as you want. Better more than less ☺️
@@SpiceMelts Thank you so much for responding. I will follow your advice. 😇❤
Did you use cold mascarpone or room temperature? Please reply.
Cold mascarpone dear
can you store in the fridge overnight and pipe , or freeze already piped onto a cake?
You can store it in the fridge and pipe on whenever you like. But I suggest to use it within 3-5 days to retain freshness. I haven't tried freezing this... Maybe you can try a small batch.. 🌹
Hi may I ask how many cupcakes did this recipe frost?
Around 10-12 cupcakes, depending on how tall your frosting is...
@@SpiceMelts thank you for your answer nice recipe btw I’ll definitely try it out
Hii..i love the recipe but may i know icing sugar the same having cornstarch??
No, it's not the same....
@@SpiceMelts thanx for reply..you used normal powdered sugar??
@@khthlgke as per my recipe, are listed all the ingredients I used and the quantity
How long will the frosting stay stable for after piping please?
It will be stable for a long time. But keep it in the fridge for freshness. Also try to consume within 2-4 days as it contains whipped cream...
@@SpiceMelts thanks so much for responding. Just in time too, I plan to make this on Thursday
Can I half the recipe?
Surely you can... But this is really yummy and light, not like regular buttercream, it will not be too rich!
@@SpiceMelts tysm! And could I use powdered sugar instead of icing sugar or are they the same? Also what is the shelf life of this recipe?
@@carissavillalon6124 - you can use powdered sugar, but they are not the same. Store bought icing sugar has cornstarch in it and more stable. Powdered sugar is usually pure sugar. It shouldn't affect the consistency that much
That doesn’t look very stable to me
the flashing "subscribe" "comments" signs are very irritating and interrupt the video. won't be subscribing. or watching any more of your videos.
Please do me a favour of not even commenting 🤣 Your comments are irritating me. I never asked or pleaded for you to watch my videos, it was your choice to watch it and piss on the comments section. 🤡
