How to make Whipped Mascarpone Frosting | Stable for piping | No butter, less sweet frosting

  • In todays video, I'm sharing a recipe for a frosting that doesn't require butter and is less sweet as compared to the classic buttercream frosting. This frosting uses heavy whipping cream, mascarpone cheese, sugar and vanilla. It's a 4 ingredient frosting that's rich, creamy, goes so well on cupcakes, cakes, and other desserts. If you don't enjoy the classic butter based frosting, but prefer a lighter cream based, but still rich and indulgent, you will absolutely enjoy this whipped mascarpone frosting.

    I bet this frosting tastes delicious and better than buttercream. I prefer Italian mascarpone cream cheese to the regular kind. I spread it on homemade spicy, nutty bread, bagels, crackers, and just about anything. I'm saving your recipe. Thank you for sharing.

    Thanks for sharing. I always fail with frostings and shall try this recipe. Can I add gel colouring to this and not impact its stability?

    • @SpiceMelts
      @SpiceMelts  Рік тому +1

      I did not use any colouring for this frosting as it's a nice and white natural colour, but if you want to try, can start with a small batch just to see that it doesn't effect the consistency. If you use a high quality colouring, it should not affect the stability. What I like to use are sprinkles or some fresh fruits on top of the frosting. Happy baking & decorating....

    Did you tried to make without sugar? I like this frosting for pavlova, I use whipping cream but I will try this frosting and would like without sugar😊

      I have not tried it without sugar... the consistency might be a bit different. Let us know if you tried and if it was successful. Goodluck! 💓

    • @SpiceMelts
      @SpiceMelts  Рік тому +4

      I suggest double or even triple the quantity. This frosting is not very sweet and it's light, hence you can use as much as you want. Better more than less ☺️

    can you store in the fridge overnight and pipe , or freeze already piped onto a cake?

    • @SpiceMelts
      @SpiceMelts  Рік тому +1

      You can store it in the fridge and pipe on whenever you like. But I suggest to use it within 3-5 days to retain freshness. I haven't tried freezing this... Maybe you can try a small batch.. 🌹

      It will be stable for a long time. But keep it in the fridge for freshness. Also try to consume within 2-4 days as it contains whipped cream...

    • @SpiceMelts
      @SpiceMelts  Рік тому

      @@carissavillalon6124 - you can use powdered sugar, but they are not the same. Store bought icing sugar has cornstarch in it and more stable. Powdered sugar is usually pure sugar. It shouldn't affect the consistency that much
