Honestly, this is the best version of this song in my opinion. Meg retains the spirit of the original while creating her own spin and dialing everything to 11.

She was being pushed into mainstream briefly about 4 years ago. I remember her being interviewed by Access Hollywood (I worked for NBC at the time, had to watch) when "desire" came out, (which played on the radio quite a bit) during the promotion of her "Sorry album. Don't know the full story, don't think anyone does, but she has expressed in the following album and single "numb" that there were a lot of people telling her what to do, how to look, how to portray herself (notice that she isn't putting out the highly sexualized "femme fatale" persona anymore like before. Maybe there's a connection). Somewhere along the line, she dropped her label, shaved her head, and then took hiatus. That will kill any and all momentum for any "new" artist flirting with mainstream. You can call it "self-sabotage" but, I call it, within this context, being true to yourself-- which is EXTREMELY brave in the music industry *shrugs*. She has been pushed, just not the way she wanted I guess.
But I agree. Meg is damn good, if not better, with what she's doing now. I hope she gets the right attention this time around.

Thanks for the feedback but I just sing for fun and mostly with the purpose of discussing related mental health topics as I'm a Therapist. I have no vocal training, never been in choir, and I don't pretend to be an expert. So while I'm not really aspiring to be an amazing singer I appreciate your feedback even if given with cruel intentions.

This is so bizarre. I listen to "Running Up That Hill" by both Placebo and Kate Bush when I'm at work cuz it's one of my favorite songs, then I usually listen to a ton of Meg's songs right after..and now Meg covers it herself. Not to sound lame, but I got cold chills and butterflies in my stomach when I saw this, I'm so excited to play this on repeat lmao

Power? I don't think Kate put more emphasis in power for this song. Her version is airy and ethereal. While Meg version has lower key, heavier and more pronounced drum.
This song came on the radio a few days after my grandfather died in 2019. It's one of the few things I can remember in the general time after his death. My family was making funeral arrangements arguments at my grandmother's house and I heard this song in the car while my mother was driving to her house. I remember just taking a set of headphones locking myself in one of the bedrooms while all the adults talked and crying for hours to this song.

I listened to this, and this is how my brain remembered the song from back then. I listened to the original, and it just felt off after hearing this. Superb job, Meg.
Absolutely brilliant! It stayed true to the original Kate Bush version except with Meg Myer's unmistakable energy! I always want to play Running up that hill during my DJ set at a local goth night but seldom do because the K.B. version was recorded in such low quality. This version however just made the rotation along with "Jealousy" which always fills the dance floor!
