So if you had your stuff in order you could have all his attention. Otherwise you were dead meat. But where he liked to work was mainly how to build a piece in a way that even if you were nervous on stage you could still perform in a solid way. And he new very well what it meant because he felt the pressure of being him in almost every concert, he never knew what the audience expected from such a star as he was.

the problem is that you end up with a "goopy" sound if you finger slide as in his first segment
Perlman uses that technique of shifting, he doesn't sound goopy at all
