Where do you get red dragon fruits? The only ones I can find are white, besides the dried ones in the Starbucks refresher I haven’t gotten any
Can I grow them in NYC
Yah vry enterested👍😘
Thanks for the tips! 💕
The yellow dragon fruit taste better than the Red first time 😍
My dragon fruit flowers just opened up today. Such a beautiful flower..
The bees were going crazy on it :)
Wow that’s awesome. I can’t wait until that day!! So cool :)
my dragonfruit sprouted their sharp things a few weeks ago and just started sprouting their actual cacti part out of the seedlings, have no idea what to do now i just planted them for fun now i’m scared their roots’ll get cramped in that small succulent cup thing i put them in
@@TheKiwiGrower how fast do the ones planted from seeds grow. And the ones you are showing at the beginning of the video how old are they?
@@ShambaniFarm takes lots of time😊
but feels great😉
i have also grown
Just a little small but looks very beautiful😍
It takes 2-4 weeks for a plant to come🌱
It takes 2-3 years to bear fruit🍎🙂☺️😘
@@TheKiwiGrower do I have to water it when I plant it?
If you plant dragon fruit from seeds youll have to wait 5 years for your first fruit but if you cut a branch from a plant and plant the branch directly into the dirt, you’ll get fruit that same year and the branch will grow other branches.
When planting cuttings and the cutting starts to grow those shoots or sprouts which you have to prune can you plant those as well? And how fast do they grow? Do they grow slow like seeds or fast like the cuttings?
@@ShambaniFarmdepends on the plant and they grow pretty fast as they are already a bit mature
How often does the dragon fruit plant need to be watered?
@@munkeybutt i water mine every other day before 8am but if you overwater them they will turn yellow.
4 years is what most people say
I accidentally grew the half-eaten dragon fruit that I yeeted into my dad's potted dwarf fruit tree.

I need to stop looking at plant vids. I have no more space 😫

I tossed my seeds in a shallow plastic container with soil put the lid on and forgot about it, it became a terrarium and watered itself till i found it again and replanted the sprouts. Cool to know they will sprout in the water though.
Nice one!
Cool. I have done the same. You can put them in large container or separate them.
I love the presentation. No hooplah, no time wasting, just quick, easy, helpful information.
Wish they were all like this. This was amazingly to the point! 🎉❤
I feel excited to try this and i love how quick the video was. Nice job. Usually they are like 10 minutes long which is hard to watch with two little kids.
Glad you liked it! 😁
I agree. I feel small informal vids about gardening when it comes to smaller stuff would be easier to watch with longer running ones as a follow up on them.
THANK YOU for the brevity! Most people making DIY videos want to drone on and on before finally getting to the point. You had one job: giving information. You did it right!
I hope your vid takes of on the shorts UA-cam algorithm, mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks mate! Worth a shot at least 😃
@@TheKiwiGrower I only started my channel for fun 8 months ago and one short got to 44,000 and added a couple of subs
Was exciting
@@Coolclimatetropicalfruits oh wow that’s awesome! Crazy how the algorithms work at times
Indeed, this is great content fast :-)
Actually it takes alot longer to grow the cactus then the fruit, if you start from seed, so if you already have the cactus then take the trimmings and cut them at the base and replant them, using the trimmings will start the process faster
You can skip the step with soaking seeds in water. Just put them in soil after rinsing.
Yup you sure can. Thanks. I’ve detailed that in the description but just for the purpose of this short video just showed one type of method :). Cheers
Ohhhh I never thought to try sprouting them in water! I always went right into soil. I've tried a few times over the last couple years and never had any success beyond the seedling stage, this is the first year I have seedlings growing actual cactus sections! Now I know what to try next time.
Do it :-) it is great fun
What did you do differently to get out of the cotyledon stage?
I really love gardening, that's why I always watch this kind of content.
I put a slice of the fruit in some potting mix and lightly covered, one week later little sprouts are starting😊.
here in Brazil this fruit is called pitaya
I really need to learn Portuguese. It's a goal my life to learn it and see Brazil before die. Toss up between Rio De Janeiro and San Paulo. One of my favorite actress is from Brazil Alice Braga. Love from 🇺🇸. Stay safe. In Jesus Christ I pray 🙏.
Why am I the only one to say he is mighty cute lol
Cuz you’re the only crazy cat lady here
since its hard to get fresh dragonfruit where I live I am growing seeds from frozen, packaged fruit. It will be interesting to see if they actually grow
Good luck!
Shortest videos I have seen in youtube/tiktok on how to grow dragon fruit plants 🤗👍
I love a short and to-the-point video!
A easy and tasty fruit to grow 👍.
That takes more than 2 years to start producing
@@chrissoutdoorsgardening1261 I know, but it's worth it 👍
it depends on how you grow it, if you take a cutting from a larger tree, it takes around 2 years. if you plant it from seed, it can take around 7 years
Indeed!
That was great, I had never heard of that plant trick
I love these types of videos! I must try this. Thank you!
Awesome! Good luck with it 😁 🌵
I have been gardening many years. You've helped me learn so much. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Very helpful, and you're such a handsome young man. 😊 I love your channel.

Do we have to water it ?
Good idea
Good info, and yes, the length was much appreciated. 🤗
Wonderful. Thanks
Interesting. After sprouting, should we separate them in pots or plant them close to each other in one pot?
This method took AGES. I just spread the pulp with seeds in it on top of wet seed raising mix, sprinkled a small layer of mix on top and watered every couple of days. They sprouted in a week and look great. The ones in water took 4 weeks to get big enough to plant
Mine sprouted got a little tuft in the center but seems to be growing crazy slow. Not sure weather to toss them or keep trying.
I’ve germinated some palora seeds this way. Before I knew it, I had 60 plants. And counting 😳😱 Been trying to give them away but can’t get rid of them fast enough.
I surely appreciate this QUICK video clip. You did a great job of getting to the point 🎉. What is the best soil mixture for growing dragonfruit?
Wonderful! I will do this (if I can find dragonfruit in our shops) 😊
Good luck! Also works planting directly into soil too if you prefer. :)
Try local buy swap and sell on FB 😊good luck
Sick easy brilliant idea that works dude. I might attempt this!
The cactus is Selenicereus undatus also known as the White-fleshed pitahaya.
This is easy.
But what to do with these plants afterwards? Where did you plant them?
Thanks for your Fastest, and easiest way of growing dragon fruits from seed Vid!! Love it!!
If you graft these seedlings onto a mature root stock you can get fruit in 1-2 years rather than waiting 5-6 years in most cases!!
Found your channel today 😀 Subscribed! I will try this method. I have successfully sprouted some in soil.
Awesome, yea they do well planted straight in soil too - nice work :)
Thank you for sharing this ❤️👍
Yo empecé a hacer plantones de pitajaya y pues están Súper maravillosos creciendo
YAY🤗 I LOVE THIS... THANK YOU👏
I love those! There’s so many seeds… wonderful.
It’s so cute!! 😍 Thank you!!! 🥰
I've never seen dragon fruit plant with spikes like that
The spines do change a bit as the plants mature
Does the plant need sun? What time of the year does it grow? & will it grow in the state of north Georgia? We’re in the winter now
Love the growth.
It's excellent work 😲👍👍🙂🥇👏👏🎊🏆
Thank you!!! 😍❤
Its so helpful really !
Omg this worked after trying for yrs it finaly started sprouting and omg it worked 😮
Beautiful
Very useful thank you
OMG thank you 🥰🥰🥰 so in time
Ty for the advice I did exactly what you did!
Should you cut the side shoots in the early stages so it focuses all the energy on one stem?
No
just watched all your shorts after seeing your walking onions vid, love your work and will have to go check out your longer vids. Cheers 🍻

First challenge is *getting* a dragon fruit in the UK...
😆
Thanks for sharing 👍
well thanks, now i need to buy a dragonfruit, I already have avocados and lemon trees coming and now i need to try this loll
Can u guide me . What did u use in pot mix... I mean ratio of soil, compost, cocopet . And also in how many days we shud water the plant.
You can use regular potting soil for these plants as they can handle a bit more water than other types of cactus. Use fine soil if sprouting seeds directly in the soil though to help them get going :)
You basically want something free draining while also having some good nutrients in it
That's so cool
You can just leave the fruit in the sun and the seeds will germinate in the fruit and then break open the fruit and plant the seeds in potting soil. That's how I grew my baby dragon fruit from the cactus in my back yard but it's much easier to just start with a cutting. :)
Wow thanks! 🧡
THANKS TO YOU I LOST ALL MY PERSONAL SPACE TO PLANTS. 👍
Thanks for this information.... Luv from kerala 😊😊🎀🥰
Omg thank u for this information.
Nice sharing dear 👌
wow!! thank you!!
I had no idea I can't wait to try it Thank you !

Very beautiful my new friend. 👍😊
That's awesome man
Amazing. One of my dragonfruit went half bad so I threw the bad flesh in a big pot I have. I can’t believe how easy they are to grow.
Love it
All of your videos are very very beautiful 😍 please do your full length video of your garden and by the way where do you live I mean from which country 😊
❤❤❤thank you
Yes so cool!!
Hey I'm a newbie in gardening, I'm so curious about the soil you use. How do you mix your soil? Do u have any recipe for it? Thanks😊
But how long does it take to harvest? I want to start a dragonfruit farm I think.
How long until we get profits
my seedlings dont look as good as yours do in the cup, they seem to pop off the seed part but those that look ok I just planted now. I hope this works
I've never seen a pink fleshed dragon fruit before .. Are they sweeter than the light flesh ones? That's how I imagine it.. Cheers from 🇨🇦🤗✌
Hi Dana, yes maybe a bit sweeter although the supermarket ones are often picked when not ripe so the sweetness isnt high. Homegrown is much better from what I've hears as you can leave them to fully ripen on the plant :)
There is White, Pink, magenta, red and super dark red variaties...
Tried it so often but different and it never worked
I'll check that out
Yea I’ve heard some people have trouble sowing them directly in soil, so thought this method might help some people get some seed started. All the best! :)
.. thankss 🙏 😊
Would this eventually grow fruit or just the cactus?
They take so long to grow that thick it's unbelievable tbh
Wow that's beautiful 💕
Dragon fruit is easily the best cactus
This is dope! I would love to grow an orange or mandarin 🍊! Can you make a vid about that? Lemme know 🔥
Will add it to the list :) Cheers man
@@TheKiwiGrower How big is that list already buddy? hahaha

I’m growing yellow dragon fruit cactus from seed!
Awesome! I managed to get a yellow dragonfruit plant awhile back too :). Never tried the fruit though. They look cool!
They are very sweet and much better then pink dragon fruit!
Kindly help me with this, When planting dragon fruit from cuttings and the cutting starts to grow those shoots or sprouts which you have to prune can you plant those as well? And how fast do they grow? Do they grow slow like seeds or fast like the cuttings?
@@ShambaniFarm They grow fast from cuttings
@@jamestropicals8262 hi James, my question is on using new stems that grow from a planted cutting. I bought some cuttings and planted them and they have started new shoots/sprouts/stems which I'm told I need to prune for now and just leave one stringer one. So the ones I'm pruning can I replant those and are they as fast in growing as a cutting or slow like growing from seeds?
