One of my favorite cars of all time (with Quattro of course).
Still one of Audi's best designs and interiors.
Audi was always my favourite. The drive, the comfort and the attention to detail. Wish these old Audi’s were still around. My father had a 1986 Audi 5000 S, it was a beautiful car but had a lot of electric gremlins towards the last few years we had it, so bad that we had to get rid of it, at the 12 year old mark. The body held up pretty well though !
Bought an 89 200 turbo new back in the day. What a great driving car. Did some simple cost effective modifications to improve performance. It was my road trip vehicle. Loved the interior with the Recaro front seats.
The driver operates a handheld stop watch, attempting a 0-80 clicks run in a random parking lot. Then he measures breaking in mm of mercury.

These caRs are highly sought after in 2021 just seen a 1990 5 spd with 150 k mile one sell in Denver for 30 k , it was nice but 30 k ,I had to sit down for that one ,
Unintended revving was actually a mechanical problem with gas cable lining. To "achieve" that you would have to rapidly press gas pedal in order to cause stationary waving at the other end of cable so it would get stuck in some position other than idle. But, there cannot be an unintended acceleration unless you are that stupid to leave it revving while in gear. Actually I think it is totally impossible to accomplish that "task". Just high revving may occur if you are jerking gas pedal rapidly which you resolve by turning key off and then manually release the cable under the hood.
That's equivalent of 100k today. That is expensive

$47,000????!!!!??? In 1989?? For that? My golf R is 10 times that car for less money not counting inflation,...woah.
10 times in terms of what? Definitely not quality, design and comfort.
What a stupid glutton for attention. The Golf is a shopping trolley, this is a luxury A6 predecessor, which clearly now too isn't Golf priced.
You can compare anything and then disregard inflation to make your modern car sound amazing.

What a stupid comment comparing an Audi 200 (A6 Now) to a Golf. They are from two different segments.
Soo, check out a new A6 compared to your golf R. Then check out a 89 golf , or even a 89 GTI , compared to the 89 200. That will help you understand a few things.
